I swung by this place with a friend of mine on before we were heading to a spot nearby for drinks/dinner. It was actually practically empty when we arrived — around 6:30 on a Monday night — there was literally one other patron at the bar. We were there just for one drink — and they have an extensive beer selection — both on tap and even cask ales! — as well as a full bar. The place itself is rather spacious with a long bar near the entrance and a back area with a pool table(also a photo booth for those so inclined). They beers were cheap, too(just $ 5 per pour) but perhaps it was happy hour? I read a post saying this bar is closing down… so I guess there isn’t much(any?) time left to check it out.

I’ve been to the original spot in Manhattan(LES) like 1 bzillion times. This BK bootleg spot is aight. Not bad, not great… aight. Lots and lots of beers, like the original but it doesn’t have the same vibe, though. And the bathroom is holy yikes.

My local spot, literally I live a few apts down. But even so, the bartenders are great and I always end up meeting someone friendly to talk to or play a game of pool with. Carla is amazing! Not only a hoot but also knows her shit about beer. And the bourbon selection is mighty fine as well! Monday nights is $ 5 drafts… shhh!!!

This place was such a great find! Went with an old friend to catch up, met the awesome bartender Sarah(who makes an amazing margarita), and fell in love with the place. Ended up meeting two cool girls and chatted the entire time. The people there were funny and chill, not stuck up or annoying. One guy even walked into the glass door(in his defense, those drinks can be strong). The outside patio is beautiful, and aside from getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, I had a blast. I will definitely be back!

One of the more challenging things I’ve had to deal with recently(besides a bad breakup) was having to find a bar in New York City to watch the World Cup to appease some of my crowd-fearing friends. One bar after the other was asses to elbows and my group was on the verge of a panic attack at each door we entered… until I had an idea to mosey into d.b.a. Now there’s no good reason to explain why there was enough room to do sun salutations while watching Brazil take on Colombia — d.b.a. is a solid bar — but my hunch paid off huge dividends as it was exactly what we were looking for. Mellow, a great crowd, and plenty of room to crack your knuckles a bit. I’ve been to both locations many, many times, and they’re both great bars for a variety of reasons. Friendly staff, a robust beer selection, and generally an affordable outcome to boot. If you’re looking to watch any sporting program and would rather not have 80 people bumping into you and spilling beer on your new shoes, check out d.b.a.(if this past Friday was a good indicator of the scene for other big televised events).

Great place, if you are a beer enthusiast this is as good as it gets. Plenty of choices on draft, tonnes on bottle. Outdoor space is a bonus, hassle free staff.

First, I’d like to apologize for not reviewing sooner; I could’ve sworn that I boasted before about dba, but I guess not. Here it goes… Dba Brooklyn is my go-to bar. I live in East Harlem and I’m more than happy to make the trek for good beer, good food, a good crowd, and kind service. Yes, they have a small selection of cask ales but dba stands out for it’s selection of bourbon, as well. You can get/find pretty much anything along those lines and they often have great beer + shot specials. They’re the sister bar to the dba in New Orleans(and the one in Manhattan) and I’ve been to all of them but this one is the best. Because they’re a NOLA bar, they’re the best place to watch a Saints game, where the majority of the crown are from Louisiana. When the place isn’t packed full of fans, it’s usually quiet and has a down to earth, friendly crowd. It’s also a great place to play darts, or even hang at the bar alone– the bartenders are that nice! Really a nice bar to become a local at if you’re in the neighborhood(or not!)

I love this place :) I’m friends with the folks who run the pop-up kitchen on weekends and even if I didn’t know them, I’d hang here. Good drinks, there’s a back patio area with tables, and the food is the tops. **Lucy Roux – dinner Fri-Sat Sunday Brunch. Dominican Creole. Nuff said

How have I not reviewed this DBA? I now like it here better than the Manhattan one despite DBA Manhattan’s proximity to my dad’s. It feels more spacious although I don’t think it actually is and the backyard is nicer. They’ve also always had the nice pop-up food places and Al is one of our favorite bartenders in the city.

Good brews as expected. Both d.b.a.s in New York are pale shadows of its New Orleans sibling, but they still deliver. Only at ¼ capacity early Saturday evening after Smorgasburg wrapped. Just a couple of groups of dudes watching sports on TV and a smattering of locals on the patio outside. They had a nice $ 4 special on Leinenkugel’s Canoe Peddler, a decent Kolsch that worked after a dog-day afternoon. We followed this with some very quality Troegs Perpetual IPAs. Lucy Roux, a little New Southern/N’owleans comfort food startup, was on hand to provide grub. My gf was ecstatic about her fried catfish sliders, and I concur. My gumbo was also pretty good. I hope these guys find some success on the back of their recent write-ups in Village Voice and Timeout NY.

Beer selection here is amazing. That’s the first thing you need to know. Also, when I went up to order I asked to sample the Bayou Teche triple IPA and the bartender didn’t just pour me a little taste of it, he asked if I knew anything about the drink. He then went on to explain all of this fancy beer knowledge about how its both an intense ipa brewed in Louisiana and that is a Belgium triple and a unique, one of a kind beer. I appreciate the hospitality and he was totally right. It was something I’ve never had or come across before and I ordered it. I can’t even find anything on the internet about it except that it’s new. Being in that said, I’d definitely come back. They also serve a wide variety of southern foods there or at least were on the day I popped in. Picnic tables are in the back outside and it has a pretty easy-going, laid back atmosphere.

A solid spot for drinks. Came here prior to a Unilocal Elite Event and wasn’t disappointed at all! About 2 block away from Bedford Ave station on the L line, this place is quite spacious as well as friendly. I think it even has a backyard where you can sit outside, thou i didn’t really check it out; Wish i could elaborate on this place more but i wasn’t here for that long. A special kudos to the bartender who was going out of his way to help a patron with information to a TD bank as well as giving him the password to the bar’s wifi. Above and beyond is wassup. Good job D.B.A, i will be coming back to try the food.

Very cool spot with something for everyone drinks-wise, but sadly with food only on special occasions. This is a bar first and foremost though, and it still bears the imprint of the late great Ray Dieter, the former managing partner and connoisseur of all«liquids of interest.» The draught beer selection is always above average, and in case there’s nothing to suit your style, they have an extensive bottle list, not to mention ever-present cask ales curated by Alex«The Gotham Imbiber» Hall himself( ). Spirit lovers will also be pleased by the deep and wide gantry, with a huge selection of interesting and hand-crafted spirits… Or just get a Jim Beam Rye and a can of Sly Fox for $ 5 — best drinking value around. Also, in an effort to keep it fresh, tapping dates of every keg are listed on the chalk board, and the oldest automatically becomes happy-hour-priced.

Great beer selection. Low key vibe and dog friendly. Bring your friends for fun. The back patio is great. Bartender is friendly. And tonight, the spiked hot cider was absolutely perfect. Great Bklyn spot.

The miserable brunette twat who’s been working in their on the weekends for the past 8−10+ months is horrible. The past 3 times I’ve been in(in that same time) she’s darted over to take an order only to then pretend she has more important things to do. See RM’s review(11/26/2012) Same horrible pain-in-the-ass brunette bartender. Hey pain-in-the-ass bartender, please go home. Please. Leave the bartending to people who don’t suck. Please.

I’m a big fan of the d.b.a. in Manhattan, but as far as a chill pub with tons of beer options, the Williamsburg d.b.a. may have the Manhattan one beat. So many beer options, and bartenders who can recommend great brews. There’s a slew of weekly specials, and if I lived nearby, I’m near certain this would be my local watering hole. They list their draft beers and the date they were added. They get some of their Brooklyn Brewery beers right from the source a few blocks away. This is the sort of place that is far away from me, and I’m wicked jealous of people who live nearby.

I am just overwhelmed! Really I have to pick one from this huge beer list?! I just wish I have a paper list for d.b.a. beer selections instead of standing there for 5 minutes looking at the chalkboard! Aside from beers, there are also another separate board for whiskey. I am also lucky to be here on a Sunday, I am able to try out Tchoup Shop at the back too! Nothing better than having a beer or 2 and just chill out at d.b.a. with friends on a Sunday afternoon!

I first came to this d.b.a location for a Unilocal Elite event last summer and have been wanting to come back for the longest time. The opportunity finally arose when after eating a shitload of food at Smorgasburg, we felt it was time for a couple of beers to settle the belly. The beer list here is extensive and you wil likely feel overwhelmed. But the fun with such a huge list is that you will spend hours(and money) drinking all types of beer! Having an outdoor patio to do so with furry friends at your feet makes this much more enjoyable. Conveniently close to the Bedford Station so you won’t have to stumble far to go home.

The beer geek in me was pretty thrilled to find this place, a North Brooklyn outpost of the East Village spot. A small, clean bar, DBA offers a few dozen bottles of hard to findbeers from the States, Belgium, and some British and Continental selections, as well as several types of whiskies. Don’t arrive thirsty; it’ll take at least 10 minutes to decide on a drink. While lacking the staggering selection of the Peculier Pub on Bleecker, you’ll find a much more subdued atmosphere hear. Candles burn atop every table, you can have a conversation without needing to shout, and a large deck beckons you to drink al fresco
