I will start off by saying that the food was very good. Likewise, the ambiance and vibe of the place was very fun and intimate. The two stars taken off are unrelated to this aspect of the restaurant. I called yesterday to confirm that it was byob since I saw it online. Someone on the phone confirmed with me and that there was a small corkage fee but that was fine. So my friends and I arrive and stop at the wine store across the street and grab two bottles. We go to the restaurant and they have my table waiting for us(I had called 30 mins before and they held it– very nice). We put the wine on the table and no one acknowledges it. Finally we ask a waitress to open the bottle and she informs us that it’s no longer byob and we were like uhhhhhh. Then we took a bit trying to decide what to do, it was a bit of a game changer for us. During this time a couple came in and sat behind us and had the same experience, stating they were told it was byob and had brought a bottle but now had to order off the menu. We eventually decided to stay and order their house cab and a pizza to start. The pizza was very good, but then the staff decided they didn’t like us. We also didn’t get the bread and olives that everyone else is raving about. They were trying to rush us out, offering us dessert menus when we weren’t ready and trying to take my friend’s wine glass before she finished what was in it. I saw two of the staff off to the side looking at us and whispering, clearly saying something about us. It was uncomfortable. We would have ordered more food had we been able to drink our own wine, so I think they were mad about that. The food that other tables were ordering looked very good as well. We ended up ordering two pizzas for the night and then had to carry our unopened bottles around Williamsburg. Overall, I don’t think I would return because of the waitstaff’s attitude towards us. However, I would say we had one nice busboy who was on our side and so sweet and funny. If we didn’t get off on the wrong foot about the byob, I think our whole experience would have been different.

We were 3 people and we went looking forward for a great experience. Sadly, we were disappointed. Although the venue is great, the food was thrill free. The main attraction, the pizza, was average and mainly ruined due to the tomato sauce, which was very sweet and tasted industrial. We had to ask for salt, chilli, and garlic in order to, basically, adjust the flavor of the sauce and make it more to our liking. The server was nice but not attentive, and twice we had to get up to her in order to get what we want(even though there were only 3 other tables except us). Everything was done by the busboy. Who was amazing! And we got what we need thanks to him.

Always a good experience. Wait staff is friendly. They always have different specials and the food is consistently delicious. Great for an intimate family dinner. Their biggest stand alone table seats 6 but it’s a tight squeeze. They are able to combine tables for bigger parties. Always very accommodating to their customers. Burrata with fig and speck — creamy burrata and the fig was the perfect sweetness. The speck was a bit dry but still complimentary with the dish. Squid ink fettuccine con mariscos — might be my fave dish so far. If you’re a seafood lover, please indulge! Mussels marinara — hot mussels in the best mix of tomato sauce. Awesome to dip their complimentary flatbread in Chicken Marsala — tender and great sauce. Not much to say otherwise. Love the open kitchen. It feels very cozy. There is always something beautiful about eating and watching the fire burn in the brick oven.

We enjoyed a festive & wonderfully delicious special occasion meal here. Fabulous ambiance, the most scrumptious food, great service(especially the genuinely friendly front of house staff), and a really romantic and *this-is-somwhere-special* feel amid the fun busy but not rushed vibe from start to finish. We sat in the main inside room and with the high ceilings and great light it was just perfect! The pizza and olives were divine! Everything was perfect and we can’t wait for another chance to visit. A perfect spot for a special dinner, in my eyes!

Went to Oregano for dinner and fell in love with the staff + the environment. The restaurant is small and cozy offering you a nice intimate setting — perfect for a date. The waiters were very attentive, courteous, and always smiling which is a huge plus in my book. They start you off with a small bowl of olives and complimentary soft toasted bread topped with what I think is olive oil and rosemary(or some type of other condiment). We ordered the mushroom appetizer — I can’t remember the name and it was delicious. As for our main meal: I ordered the Chicken Caprese and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Marsala entrée. Both came with a side of home-made fettuccine. Overall the food was good but what makes me like this restaurant is the place itself!

Awesome. Excellent food and excellent service. Nice little atmosphere and decent prices. We got the 4 cheese pizza and the Williamsburg pizza, with some appetizers. The pizzas were off the hook and my salad was tasty and fresh. Would recommend to anybody.

Just ate there the other day and I must say I was impressed. Fresh and well portioned food, with a warm atmosphere. Friendly, efficient and professional staff and an owner that truly invests their time and efforts into the restaurant. I would go back anytime, cheers.

Try to get into the place for 3 weeks and every time the waiting was astronomical. I truly understand why, food was simply delicious. We had the flat bread coal oven pizza and mussel. The food was well prepare, the atmosphere was inviting and the staff was very attentive. kudos Oregano. Will return soon

If Oregano was a sweet indian princess I would definitely take her on an elephant ride, but if she was more of an old school dragon-garded hard-to-get got-to-fight-for-her-probably-die kind of princess, I guess I would just go grab a taco at a place nearby.

The starter of bread with olives was soft with an added charcoal flavor making it pleasantly delicious as we wait for the main course. Server was helpful from the start and patient with our order and questions. The ambiance and seating is proper and there is a nice dim light with candles and a well seen brick oven from afar.. I felt nice and warm Ringling along with soft holiday music in the background. There is a sense of a relaxing old school vibe. We ordered the chicken Marsala which was delicious with a tint of a nice wine lemon aftertaste. It came with some pasta and we ordered the margarita pizza with arugala and ricotta cheese as toppings. The pizza was well made, again I love the little burnt oven taste. Adds the special kick that I need! Will come again!

INCREDIBLE service! DELICIOUS food! GREAT ambience! This small little spot in Williamsburg is perfect for a cozy dinner with your significant other or friends. Our waiter was Mexican and very nice to us. Constantly worried for our group and always smiley. The food was very delicious and the prices are too good for the quality of food: one of those rare cases in which you get more than what you paid for. Will surely come back soon! Plus the area is really cool!

I continue to dine at Oregano whenever I can. With many choices in the Williamsburg area, I still prefer Oregano over many good choices. Owner Tony’s secret is fresh ingredients. Authentic Neopolitan recipes passed down from his father are consistently good. Great service and reasonably priced, too.

This was my second time eating at this quaint and lovely Resteraunt. Today I ordered the Prosciutto Margherita Pizza. As I waited for my pizza to be cooked, I just dazed in a trance at the most beautiful wood fired oven, tiled with a romantic Neapolitan rustic appearance. As like the last time I dined here, my pizza was out of this world. The pie was thin and toasty with a fluffy semi charred crust from the wood fired oven. The fresh mozzarella was rich and drizzled with olive oil, and the prosciutto was extremely fresh. For those of you not to familiar with prosciutto it is an Italian thinly sliced ham. Some restaurants do not serve fresh prosciutto and it becomes hard to chew and stale with exposure to air. This is a great experience for pizza lovers or just somebody looking to fall in love with something as simple as pizza. I will definitely be returning again!

I visited here wanting to hate this place only for the reason its in Billysburg. I’ve had bad experiences with a number of places within the neighborhood and assumed it was going to be the same. I was so wrong about this place. Its absolutely charming, especially the backyard with grapevines and fruit trees all around, with the mismatched outdoor furniture and the great music playing I immediately felt like I was on vacation. I ordered a bottle of malbec, which was great, and fairly priced. Luis, my server, recommended the fettucini bolognese, he did not steer me wrong, it was delish. The pasta is homemade, and the sauce was perfect. The portions are perfect not too much, but enough to fill you without feeling like a bloated whale. Service from Luis was outstanding, he’s extremely friendly and attentive, never missed a step. I will most certainly be back.

I went in looking forward to an awesome Italian meal. I was disappointed with the menu selection so I decided on a Spinach salad with salmon; my first issue we the fact that that I could see the cook grab the spinach right out the bag and throw it up on my plate, I hope it was rinsed off prior; the salmon was smoked and thinly sliced it was not what I expected. The salad was just bland. My friend had the Chicken Marsala with pasta and the portion was small and no wow factor. The service was good and that is why I gave it three stars!

This place will not seat you unless everyone in your party is here. I was coming here with friends who were running 10 – 15 minutes late and the staff would not seat us until they got here despite the fact I promised we would ordered enough food and appetizers to make it worth their while. They are no longer BYOB and(in my opinion) are acting on the assumption that everyone wants to come to their restaurant because of their casual atmosphere and excellent good. While the food is still excellent, their staff could learn a thing or two about how to treat guests. Especially those who were previously strong supporters of this restaurant.

Was here on a weekend for an early dinner. Nice selection of pizza, pasta, daily specials, and a few others. Got the all meat pizza, don’t remember the name but it had a selection of meats on it and was solid. Also had the Shrimp Fettuccine, creamy and fresh.

Nice place for homemade pasta. Difficult to find a good pasta place in nyc that doesn’t have the same old Penne alla vodka, spaghetti with meatballs and eggplant parmigiana. This place is more creative and has different dishes. You can order your usual pasta dish but I advise you to try their out of the box plates. Where I come from we have a menu with 3 to 4 pages of different pasta dishes so believe me, «italoamerican» pasta is a fiasco. Go to Oregano, Il Corallo, Nocciola, you’ll find creative and delicious dishes. By the way this is a BYOB restaurant! Two thumbs up! Get your belly filled with great food and a nice bottle of your favorite wine.
