I can actually give them a whole hearted five stars. They were so helpful and actually filled my prescription really quickly(hardly had time to write this review) They also asked about drug interactions. While I was there I noticed they come from behind the counter to help customers. They are constantly walking around asking people if they need assistance. Great team. Also, I love that the chase atm is in a hidden nook as opposed to right in the doorway like some other locations.

Used to be the best in NYC. Now it is Walgreen, and it sucks. They pushed Walgreen batteries on me, which were dead. They have neither the medicated shampoo nor moisturizer that they used to carry… and i need. It seems the products have gotten much junkier since Walgreens took over. Looks like it is going to be Amazon for my products from now on.

Love everyone at the pharmacy of this Duane Reade — They have been super helpful over the years, always remember your name, and make it feel like a neighborhood drug store. A great group of folks, for sure.

Tiny space and they don’t have… anything, really. That said, everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful, there are no lines EVER, and they fill your prescriptions in a blink of an eye. I recently transferred all of mine from the Rite Aid down the street, because they always took forever. Suck it, Rite Aid.

For getting prescriptions filled this place is oh-so-much better than the rite aid a block away.

This is the tiniest Duane Reade I have ever been to. First off I was coming from a direction where I didn’t see the entrance. Even the entrance is hard to find! Geez. On one side of the block… you see the Duane Reade sign… and the side of the store… then you go around the corner… then there is a newstand. I mean… where is the entrance? The newstand jets out quite a bit and you cant see the rest of the store… I was like… did I miss the entrance? I had to go around the newstand… and then walk even more before I found the entrance which unfortunately jets INWARD so it’s hard to see. Weird. Anyways. It is TINY in this Duane Reade. The cashier is super sweet. SUPER duper sweet. She pointed me in the right direction and because teh store is so tiny she was able to tell me as I got closer to the item… sorta playing HOT and COLD with me. until I was right in front of it. That was nice… most people just tell me an aisle number and leave me be to find it. I do like that she pointed out where it was for me. I loved her for that. She also engaged me in a conversation about lactose intolerance. Yeah that was what I was getting, diary pills. 3 stars just for her alone!

This place is fine — I mean, it’s Duane Reade, it’s a chain, you know perfectly well what it is, what do you want? Apparently everyone here wishes it was twice as large, but there’s a Rite Aid the size of a football stadium 2 blocks up the street, should the need for a shopping spree on plastic junk arise. Actually, that Rite Aid has everything under the sun. You should probably just go there instead. One word of advice: the pharmacy is really damn slow. I think they’re just busy. They’re super nice people. The wait time here is generally an hour or two, but at other area pharmacies it’s usually more like 10 minutes. So, just keep that in mind. These people do an admirable job being nice while working under track-lighting at a job no one wants. Good for them. I never get shit from any of them, which is more than I would grant you if I was forced to work under these conditions, knock on wood.

I love this duane reade. Because its small, its never that busy so its a good place to stop in and grab what you need. Everyone from the managers, cashiers and pharmacy staff are very friendly. Its my go to. It would be better if they allowed dogs but its understandable.

Since this small store’s primary function is a pharmacy, I’ll write about that. We have worked with the pharmacist, Yola, for the last couple of days after a surgery. She has been SO competent, engaged and helpful to us. Throughout the 5 prescriptions, she’s made sure they’re accurate and that they’re being taken properly. She has verified everything with the doctors. At a time when we’re exhausted and not always paying the best attention, she’s been so helpful. Not only that, but she’s been sympathetic and compassionate — also appreciated! She’s the best :)

I understand all the poor reviews but have you met the store manager Dean? He is the greatest man on earth. Aside from taking the time to make sure that my flex points were returned to me after a check out error — which was completely unnecessary but wowwed me in terms of customer service — Dean willingly takes verbal abuse from the regular, pharmacy patrons i.e. the elderly, because he realizes that for some, their main source of social interactions is from him — he is really a great man. So yes Duane Reade, you could have more options but wow, you really hired an amazing guy.

this Duane Reade is the size of my closet. and has fewer items than my closet. really… they don’t have much of anything. the people are nice. and i bought a decent toilet plunger here. but if you want to actually, you know, find what you need walk a few blocks south to Rite Aid. fail.
