.. Was in town for the Red Hook Crit and needed a quick bite… I stumbled upon this place and was PLEASANTLY surprised! We ordered breakfast foods– a bacon, cheese, and tomato omelet which was huge and full flavored, don’t miss out on the home fries. yum! We also got a bagel sandwich which was chewy and gooey! The staff was friendly and really helpful! I was stoked to see all the eating options on the menu! Definitely worth a visit! Go hungry!

Best bagel shop in red hook. Staff is great and always friendly, remembers my order and always takes care of me. The Bacon egg and cheese is the bomb.

The food here is awesome. But it was the friendly owners and staff that would entice me to return. We had two sandwiches(Staten Island and Reuben) and an omelette. All were tasty and Hugh portions! Wow! Located in a hipster area of Red Hook.

Terrible! I made a very simple order, «English Muffin with Peanut Butter». I specified«only Peanut Butter» because the last time I ordered this I got PB&J. Well, it happened a second time except this time I got a Bialy with a slop of PB&J on it. Jelly all over the wrapping which prevented me from handling the«sandwich». If they can’t get this simple order right then I will NOT give them a third chance!

This place is consistently excellent. The bagels always feel like they were just made five minutes ago(which they probably were) and are so fresh and good that you could eat them plain with nothing on them. But it’s not just the good bagels — the spreads and side dishes they have — grilled chicken and pasta — all of it is consistently fresh and homemade — really, really good food. There’s also just something to be said about the general vibe of the place. The staff is always friendly and kind and maybe it’s just every time that I go in, but there’s always this great, friendly music playing and sense of warmth in there. Can’t say enough good things about F&M Bagels — I love it.

This is not your Father’s bagel spot. The owner studied under the great sandwich masters of Defontes and has brought some f that creativity and craftsmanship to his own place. The place features 50 specialty sandwiches, you really have to pick up one of his menus to see them all. I am a big fan of The Hot Italian Combo(being a hot Italian myself) which is Hot Sopersatta, Hot Ham, Pepperoni, Provolone, Sun dried tomatoes and Roasted Peppers. The Other White Meat Hero of Roast Pork, Smoked Mozzarella, Apricot Butter, Romaine and Deli Mustard is also great. They use the freshest bread(same as Defontes) and also have a steam table which changes daily and could include Pernil, Meat Loaf, Baked Ziti, Chicken Parm and Beef Stew amongst others . Prices are a tad high for the area but you get what you pay for and I am very happy F and M or Frankies as we call it is on the corner of my office.

Really good place. I like the food and the service is very friendly. I also like hand sanitizer on every table. Not a fan of the coffee, but this is the best breakfast place in Red Hook.

Great breakfast/lunch spot. Bacon, egg and cheese bagel is fantastic. As is the chicken salad. Really fresh food, usually too crowded, relatively friendly staff.

I must’ve passed this place 1000 times heading back and forth to Fairway and never stopped. We were looking for a quick bite before heading to NJ, wow were we surprised, super fresh bagels and ingredients. I had a really good bacon, egg & cheese on a sesame bagel, she had ham, egg & cheese on a roll. We both couldn’t believe how fresh everything was. I look forward to coming here again.

BEWARE: This restaurant will overcharge you on purpose. Very unethical. It’s not worth it for some so-so chicken parm from a steam table. The food is basically gas station level. Avoid.

You would expect this place to suck. It actually does suck after 7pm but before then get ready for some down home cooking. At 6am about eight men show up and start cooking(I’ve never had the breakfast so I can’t vouch for it) but the lunch/dinner is really good. The meatballs are my favorite but the macaroni and cheese comes pretty close. Stay away from the meat loaf unless you like a pound of salt in your mouth(if you do it’ll be fine). Don’t go here after 7pm. The best they can do are bags of chips and if you’re lucky the same«hero» you can get anywhere. Also, some semi-rowdy guys start drinking there at night and are cold to customers interrupting the party. My spanish isn’t great but I think I’ve been insulted.
