Went during father’s day. Had to wait 20 minutes which wasn’t bad considering that it was father day. When we sat down in a small booth with 5 people, we waited atleast 30 minute for a waiter to come and greet us to ask what we want. We ordered 5 dishes, it took an hour to serve us 2 dishes. After that we have to wait another hour for the rest of the 5 dishes. We went there at 7p and didn’t leave till 10p with last plate serve around 9:30p. The portion size was small unlike the other restaurant in the neighborhood for a very steep price. The flavors are lacking as well. I don’t recommend coming here due to the price and service.

Ordered the baked rice with seafood. The presentation of the baked rice dishes are very cute and interesting. My seafood lacked flavor but the rice was good, but salty. I recommend the baked rice with chicken & mushroom, and the frog one. Those were so good and flavorful.

Mother’s Day dinner was supposed to be sweet and fun and thankful, the whole experience at this place was just so off. I called in to make a reservation for 6 people a few days before hand, the staff was so hesitant to answer yes to my request, to me it should be fairly easy to either tell me there’s a table available or no there’s not. During our conversation, I had to raise my voice twice to confirm, «so do you have a table or no, if not I’ll book somewhere else.» All she said was, «I think so, I guess by 9pm you’ll be ok, well, let’s see, maybe, I think…» WTF? It’s a small restaurant and you’d think 3 staff members could run a full house, I was wrong, the hostess(also the owner) was in the back too busy to greet and get us seated, I had to wait 10 mins to get to a tiny booth, are you kidding me? For 6 people? By the time we actually sat down at the bigger table next to the little booth, we were pretty hungry, and we were ready to order. The seafood was not bad, the stir-fry was not your typical Chinese restaurant stir-fry, they’ve got their specialty and unique dishes, I might have gone back again for the food, but!!! This place is cash only, but they have a credit card machine, we kindly asked how come they were not accepting cards and I was thrown the worst attitude at us by the owner, she shook it off and just WALKED away. I didn’t pay for that side of attitude please. I should have walked away.

Free time hangout is a nice little restaurant with great prices. Food is wonderful, and overall the restaurant is very clean as well. I went to lunch here and got a very large amount of food for a cheap price. The food came out very quickly, and the server was very friendly. Seated immediately which was a bonus, too. Cant go wrong with free time hangout. Love their food and location

Free Time is one of the better options along the 86th street route. I have tried a few of their noodle and rice dishes. The congee is my favorite thing to order. The consistency is on point– the right amount of thickness, not too watery. My go-to is the thousand egg with sliced pork congee. Also to note, they do have a loyalty card here: after 10, you get a free lunch item. Having tried the other dishes, I wasn’t too impressed. Their diced chicken and salty fish rice was very bland. Abundant was the near-flavorless chicken, but there were hardly any pieces of fish in there. A rather sad reality for a very cheap product to buy. Overall, one of the more reliable places in Bensonhurst to order takeout in terms of overall sanitariness. I have yet to dine-in, but it seems like a comfortable place to have a meal.

Such a lovely place to eat! My BFF and i love to lunch here, food is excellent, waiters are super polite and the décor is cute! Its Cantonese style cousine, theres a good variety of dishes to chose from and they have often come up with something new as well! We come here frequently and its always a treat, I highly recommend!

The food here was decent and smaller in portion size as compared. But, as to why this restaurant deserve 1 star was the attitude we were given by the staff and waitresses. Exasperations were given by their waitress when we were trying to place our orders and when our dishes were served. I would personally say that customer service and satisfaction is far more respected over, even if the quality of the food is decent. Having waitresses give us attitude and lack of customer respect is a major lacking point for our time being here.

I’ve been to this place few times before(more than a year ago). The food was OK back then. Went back again recently. The food quality is about the same. Service is still so so. Staff is still not too friendly like before. I would go other restaurants on 86th street instead. P. S. Bathroom smell bad. It smells like«Mickey’s home»

My family & I just had a great experience here. All the foods ordered were very delicious! My family ordered the razor clams, crab legs, pan fried tofu(primo!), golden egg fired rice(awesome!) & the beef patty. Friendly staff & great food = great experience! Definitely will make another round here.

This is a review of the Chinese New Year meal my family had there. I believe all of these dishes are available on their extensive Chinese menu but not on their English one. AMAZING Ribs. The meat was melting off the bone. Highly recommend There was this really interesting Golden Fried Rice dish where the rice was actually crunchy. Not burnt crunchy though. Great Fried Shrimps. Authentic Cantonese Cuisine. Delicious food!

Great food. Great service. A bit hidden and sometimes unnoticeable. Would recommend the salt and pepper tofu. Can never go wrong with that and my favorite to order every time I visit. Only visited 4 times.

Such a hidden gem of true Cantonese food. Pumpkin fried rice was excellent. It takes a while to actually get cooked, so recommend preorder. If you are the person that do like non greasy friend rice and pumpkin taste. This will hit all your taste bud in right way! I took the pumpkin at home re toasted and had as snack!!! Truly recommend to try!

Came here for dinner with friends. The place was pretty emptied on a Friday night. My friend wanted to ordered a the crunchy fried rice, as its a house specialty. We decided to do family style dishes since theres a rice dish. The garlic chicken dish was very mediocre, and the vegetables was a bit bland. The dishes are alittle pricy, but i really did enjoyed the crunchy fried rice though.

They have a C-rating. Do I need to say more? I passed by when they first opened and it was a B. Then an improved A-rating. Now down to a C??? Think about that before you eat here. Their lunch specials are cheap so I would go for those if you are on a tight budget and starving. Serivce is usually good. They don’t rush you out like other Chinese restaurants. I experienced an off day and a good day with the same dish so it’s really a hit or a miss just like you would expect.

I tried their lunch dishes and they have been surprisingly fresh and decent compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood. Also tried their black bean clams and they were fresh and tasty! You get a good portion size in one order at a reasonable price.

Went with a group of friends for lunch. We each ordered a set lunch with arrives bento box style. It includes a soup, appetizer(or dessert in lieu of an appetizer), and an entrée served with white rice. We also split an order of their chicken wings. I had the pork chop with preserved egg & pickled vegetables(as my appetizer), and wonton soup. I really liked the preserved egg(had been craving it). My gf had the soup dumplings as her appetizer(2 in an order) and it was very tasty as well. I would probably get the soup dumpling next time. My wonton soup was good as well. The pork chop(served under scallions and onions) was delicious. It’s a Pre-sliced pork chop and was full of flavor. All in all a very satisfying meal.

The server we got was not in a good mood, the other server who was waiting on the other tables was nicer and actually had a smile on her face unlike ours. Was walking around Bensonhurst when we came upon this place. They have lunch specials on select menu for $ 7.95 which composed of an appetizer, soup or dessert, entrée, and soup. When the food came it reminded me of a bento box, by the way they set it up, divided into small parts. My bf ordered general tso’s chicken, it was sweet and crunchy. I on the other hand, ordered the chicken curry. It was basically chicken, onions, and curry sauce. It was ok, but for S3.95 I guess I can’t complain. The chicken did have a weird texture though… I do want to point out that they have a whole different menu that I did not order from since we only ordered on the lunch special menu. I was browsing through the other menu and they have baked rice with chicken and mushroom which sounded pretty interesting. Not sure if I will come back here to try that though since I wasn’t too fond of my food the first time…

This restaurant replaced Tian Tian, where we used to go. We decided to try it the other day, and it was pretty good. Both times we went, the waitresses were very friendly, and had good suggestions on what is good from the restaurant. The first time I went with my husband and toddler, and we got some congee based on their recommendation, and it was pretty good. The second time we were, it was with a large group, and we tried an assortment of their lunch specials as well as regular dishes, all of which was quite delicious. The place is clean, the service was quick, the food was good and not overpriced. The only complaint I have is that one of the times we came we sat in the booth, and the booths are not nailed down, which was kinda scary for me to sit in with a toddler who was jumping around all over the place. However, when we asked, they quickly brought over the high chair, so that was very nice. All in all, a good assortment of Cantonese-style food, so we’ll definitely be back.
