I’m sitting here eating and totally lost my appetite. I’m facing the kitchen and I can see what they’re doing back there. I witnessed a man blowing his nose and going back there to handle food. As if that wasn’t disgusting enough… I just saw an old man who appears to be one of the chef SMOKING A CIGARETTE in the kitchen and cooking!!! I was going to take a picture of him but by the time I took out my phone, he saw me and went to a corner to smoke. What kind of place is this? Really, I’m not trying to be mean but it just breaks health code violations and I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Disgusting!

Owners of this restaurant has changed and there’s been a big improvement in terms of food quality and service. My parents often come here for take-out and for their roast meats and sometimes they send me to pick up food. The woman that’s always in the front at the restaurant’s counter is always quick at taking orders, and etc. The ribs here are excellent! They are chopped in a decent size and meat just comes right off the bone. I also like that it’s not overcooked and burnt like other restaurants I’ve been too. Their roast duck and chicken are delicious too!

Ok place. I don’t come as often, but food is decent. Sometimes I would come to get take out. Staffs are friendly.

We had the thousand year old egg and pork congee, fried cruller and an order of roast pork wrapped in noodle. This has been the go to Congee place for a long time. There is no competition in that area. The fried cruller is savory and fresh, they make just enough for the day so go early. They make a noodle wrap with many filings but I like the roast pork because cilantro is not mixed in. The roasted meats are good, especially the roast pork and duck.

Owners changed, but the food and service got even better! Love the Crispy Pan-Fried Noodle with Soy Sauce and Thousand Year Egg CONGEE in the morning!!! The Zha Leung is still good too! This is still my go-to place for some authentic Chinese breakfast when I am in Brooklyn. =)

What an improvement from when I went at the beginning of the year. They have gotten a new chef and you really notice the difference. The food here tastes a lot better, more flavorful although there are still some dishes that just does not taste good. Service here has also gotten better. Servers are friendly and try to help you to the best of their ability BUT when they have a full house, good luck trying to track down a server. They are so busy running around, trying to accommodate everyone’s need that they might/might not forget when you ask for something. I’m glad they are improving and attracting more customers!

This place is the king of congee. I used to live around this area and get congee for breakfast when I was in elementary school. Now that I’m in high school and moved, I still occasionally come back here for specifically for their congee. Its never watered down and always flavorful. They put more peanuts in it then the other congee places I’ve tried, but I always ask for more. I’m a sucker for fried peanuts. Their other foods aren’t that bad either. They always have special deals so be on a lookout for those!(Theyre written in Chinese) Normally I wouldnt go back to a restaurant if it has really terrible service because their attitude ruins my mood to eat, but I chose to overlook it for the congee.

Best congee in the neighborhood. I always get it with either sliced chicken or beef. Cha siu is always great as well. Take out is fast. I’m usually in and out within 5 minutes or less. Ladies at the counter are friendly.

Great place to get jook. Churn fun and all the Chinese brunch staples. They have an A rating even though the place doesn’t look appealing. But it’s one of those joints that constantly has an influx of people. If it’s crowded. Eat here is the phrase that I follow. Give them a try. Duck over rice is incredible. Don’t let them microwave it or your skin will go from crispy to mush.

Good ol chinese breakfast. Had a pork congee with the fried stick. The best way to eat this fried stick is dip/soak it in the congee. I also ordered the fried stick wrapped with rice noodle which was huge and very fresh. This is not the fanciest restaurant but definitely hits the spot for chinese comfort food.

Got take out from here today Fried beef chow fun was super yummy when mixed with hot chili oil. The beef was really tasty and not dry. The sauce also had a good balance. Also got cha siu over rice yeahhh. It was really good. So I really recommend this place for take out but I can’t say how service is if you dine in

I havent been back here since the renovation but my sis did order food to go yday. This is the go to spot if anyone in the home is feelin sick and wants congee. My mom and sis loves their«tang jai jook» and i like the sliced pork w 1000 yr old eggs congee. We also like the beef chow fun and if we can catch them before theyre sold out, we would almost always get the«pay pa» duck. We like to get the fried crispy dough w the congee and its always the perfect match. Nicely fried and not too hard not too soft. I cant really comment on the customer service since i havent dine here and also have not met the new staff since after the renovation. My sis did say the ladies at the front were nice to her and she didnt have any issues w placin her order.

Thanksgiving and we were in need of decent meal to take in for an elderly woman, her health aide and 4 family members. We ordered duck, chicken, chicken mei fon, shrimp fried rice, pork fried rice, egg rolls, barbecued pork, and shrimp and lobster sauce. The duck was ALL fat — the chicken was tasteless — the pork was fatty and lacked flavor(how is that possible) — the noodles had ZERO taste — and the rice also had ZERO taste — the shrimp and lobster sauce was beyond soupy — the egg rolls were deeply fried, crispy and could have been a contender but they were so oily they were dripping. Absolutely nothing here was worthwhile, and everything that didn’t get eaten(which was A LOT) went straight into the garbage — Who throws away leftover Chinese food — WEHADNOCHOICE — none of us were prepared to eat it again — once was more than enough. $ 85 dollars down the drain. Clearly a situation that rates NOSTARS at all but you have to give a star to write a review.

This restaurant reopened as new on labor day. My first visit here and they only get one star from me. I walked in on a weekday during lunch time. They’ve got diners eating in, but no one waiting for take out. I order wonton noodle soup and pork and chicken on rice. Another customer enters a few minutes after me. Some how, they manage to give me the wrong orders! Both of them! It just boggles the mind to even try to explain how it happened when there was no one waiting for food but two people, and I only ordered two items! This is not a good first impression. For all you ordering take out from here, I advise you to open the bag and check your order before leaving the premises. I doubt I’ll ever return. They get one star because the people at the register to happen to speak English although I did order in Chinese and yet was given some one else’s food. I’m pretty sure the other customer got my order and is home going wtf too.
