I have been coming here since I was a little girl. In the past, their goods were bigger, cost less, and tastes better. The goods nowadays are smaller, the quality went down, and it cost more. I can’t help feeling disappointed when I buy anything from here now.

Not the cleanest or largest looking place and they didn’t seem to have a huge selection of buns and pastries, but they have the best prices around. We got a bbq pork bun and pineapple coconut bun and iced milk tea for a little over $ 3. Super convenient, right next to the entrance to the D train. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite on the go.

A friend of my mom told her about a dan go(sponge/chiffon cake) place in Brooklyn that is as good as the dan go place in Manhattan(New Kam Hing) and it’s cheaper too. My mom said it was on Bay Parkway. I asked my mom to ask her friend on what street. My mom didn’t realize that Bay Parkway is an Avenue. Finally, I find out that it’s nearby and I’ve walked by the place quite a few times. I stopped by on Saturday to pick up some goodies, 6 dan gos, 2 char siu baos and an iced coffee. The total came up to $ 7.20…cheeeaaaapppp…I saw a price sign up by the cakes marking them as $ 0.60…i didn’t believe it bc nowadays bakery items prices range from $ 0.80 and up. I stopped in the day after with my mom to pick up some more stuff so she can take it with her back to Jersey. I also got a fried noodle type of thing… but it was kinda dry. …I really like their iced coffee… definitely will be dropping by more often.

Food are cheap but they are dirty as hell. I did order sticky rice once. Ate half of them and realized the cooked meat inside the sticky rice has mold grown on it. Since then. I never go back.

SOCHEAP. OMG. and super convenient location right off the D line. They make their pork buns, red bean buns, and man toe with the kind of flour that i love: super super white, super soft and fluffy. YUMS. Taiwanese style. Canto speakers only, and they don’t have signs next to their breads and pastries, so you’ll have to either communicate in engrish or canto to ask them what is what. :P Bought two buns for only $ 1.50!!! That’s a steal people!

Good prices, awesome location. I love getting my weekend milk tea here(soo cheap). Cannot comment on any of their other goods since I have not had them before, but their milk tea is so wonderfully creamy & awesome. They use the HK milk tea brand(my fave) and don’t overload it with sugar. Good stuff!

FLIES ! I got ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning… This morning I rushed out to celebrate the birthday of my friends’ 2 year old. I wasn’t too prepared and I needed a cake ASAP. So, ignoring the Grade B sign in front of Golden Crown Bakery, I bought the first cake I saw. They took it to the back to write«Happy Birthday, Evie» and came back with the cake all ready to go in the box. After our meal and in time for dessert, we opened the box to find a huge fly smack center of the cake. My friends insisted we go back to tell the bakery so they’re aware of this problem. What surprised me the most when we went back with the cake was that they didn’t seem at all surprised. Moreover, we spotted more flies in the bakery. They quickly reimbursed the $ 13 without any fuss. We went to the bakery 2 stores down and got a cake there instead.

Morning: These are some of the drinks and food I go for in the morning: Small milk tea, small coffee, and small milk tea with coffee — $ 0.70(only Bklyn) Good stir fried flat noodles with little beef and scallion — $ 1.35(good and get it early at 6:50 a.m. and last til noon) Good egg custard and sponge cake — $ 0.50 each(good) Still cheap compare to bakeries in Queens and Manhattan.

Just off the D train on Bay Parkway, I was heading to my friend’s place Saturday morning in search of a place to pick up some buns and coffee. A small place with just a handful of tables, they make cakes, pastries, and buns with savory filling. I opted for a steamed pork and vegetable bun and a baked hot dog bun with a tea with milk. The steamed bun was a bit of a dissappointment as I didn’t like mushrooms in it and the veggie they used had more of a mushy sour kraut consistency rather than instead of the normal bite of some napa cabbage. The hot dog bun was delish as it was still perfectly steamed and not wrinkly, but for some weird reason I tasted something crunchy in it which lead me to believe some egg shells were cracked into the dough and forgotten. =/ The tea was scalding hot — not that I really minded as I was sitting in and simply removed the lid, but it’s definitely not a drink you can walk with and holding in your hand. But meh, for a $ 2.10 breakfast you can’t really complain.
