I am giving it three stars because the place is nice and so is all the packaging. However there pastries taste awful. So fake that you cant even go for the next bite. Sorry the truth had to be told

Ho ho, what have we here? A tasty, pretty, AND affordable bakery?! Lawd have mercy on my wallet and waistline, I surrender to the smooth tune of the sweet carb siren I worship! I love their coffee and adore their Danish bread with slivered almonds, and trust me, you will too. On a really high note, their staff is friendly and they offer you samples while you wait to pay. If they’re not around, help yourself to the box of samples that’s near the cashier. This place is the place to be!

Everything is freshly made and a lot of the bread are still hot. Nothing there stays overnight and everything made there is the same day you buy it. It’s different from any other bakery because of the different design. Definitely stands out!

Bright, modern, clean, and not bad for pastries. Reminds me of some of the fancier bakeries I’ve gone to when I lived in Flushing. Prices are reasonable. Friendly service. Offered to try samples of cookies. The chocolate cake was moist and delish. Technically, I’d consider this to be a marble cake(chocolate swirls inside yellow cake). The green tea cake slice was nicely decorated with hearts and swirls. However, the quality of the cake was not quite like the cakes at Audrey’s Concerto.

Newly open Chinese Bakery in Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Bright, modern and clean with lots of options for baked goodies. After lunch with a friend we venture here for dessert and pastries. King’s Bakery sits nearby its parent company King’s Restaurant. The appearance bears a upscale high quality Chinese bakery like the ones in Flushing, Queens. Bread baskets and tongs are available for serving. We opt for one green tea cake and one chocolate cake. The chocolate cake did not remotely resembled anything chocolate, but as my friend who pointed out it closely resembles a marble cake(chocolate swirls inside). Price is very reasonable than those high-end upscale Chinese bakeries in Flushing. In the rear there are seats and tables available.

I discovered this place while walking from the train station. Apparently, there’s like four other bakeries on BayParkway and I got tired of eating the same things. Luckily, I found this place and decided to try their food. They offer similar baked goods such as Paris Bagette with the servers in aprons. They offered a variety of new products such as the Korean cheese bread and other Korean goods. The mochi sesame ball attracted my attention and I brought right when they came out of the oven. They were not too sweet but mostly chewy which is good enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. For only $ 1.25, it’s worth trying this new item.

PROS: — Egg White Egg Tart $ 1.25 — very creamy and soft. The egg white part is fragile. 4STAR — Hot Milk Tea $ 1.25 — pretty good. It’s more expensive than Chinatown. It’s only 80 cents in CT. 4STAR — Napoleon Cake $ 1.75 — very crunchy and comparable to Taipan’s. They are a little more expensive than Taipan’s however. Taipan’s only cost $ 1.60 a slice. 4STAR — Mango Pudding $ 1.99 — soft and creamy. Mango flavor was good. A little bit sweeter than I would like it to be. 3.5STAR — Apple Pie $ 1.25 — pretty good but kind of small for the price. The apples are wrapped in a flaky dough which I like. 3.5STAR — DECOR: the bakery looks better than most of the Chinese bakeries on 86th street. OKAY: — Mochi Sesame Bread — $ 1.25 very chewy and hard. Creative concept. apparently this is the most popular bread in the store. 3STAR — Chestnut Bread $ 2.99? — very big oval shaped bread. It was ok. Nothing special. 2.5STAR — Purple Yam Bread — it’s laced in green and purple colors. The colors caught my eye so I just had to try it. Not bad but it’s not amazingly good. It’s regular bread with some purple yam mixed in it. 3STAR CONS: — Crème Brulee Egg Tart $ 1.50 — it’s alright. too sweet. It’s not creamy and moist. The crème brûlée is very thick. 2STAR — Lemon Bread — looks nice on the outside but I like the usual lemon bread in the regular bakeries more because they put a lot of lemon filling inside the bread. This lemon bread is just laced with a little bit of lemon flavoring on the top. Not lemony enough for me. 2STAR

Did 86th street really need another Chinese bakery? No, but this one is still worth checking out. Kings Bakery is unorthodox compared to its competitors down the block – think Paris Baguette, with trays and tongs to choose your carbs to your heart’s content – and sells not-so-typical baked goods such as the pumpkin bread I ended up buying, while still sticking to the classics like the hot dog bun(no pineapple or pork floss buns in sight, unfortunately), albeit revamped. Will my grandpa and all his elderly friends flock here like they do the other Chinese bakeries? Perhaps, but Kings also emanates a vibe that will attract those of a younger audience as well, with its modernized design and bright lights. I may have only tried the pumpkin bread(which was, by the way, a lovely mix of sweet and savory), but I can see the potential this bakery has. Hopefully those who dine in Kings Kitchen next door will stop here for dessert.
