When you marry into an Italian family, pasta takes on a whole new meaning. There are some«legendary» Italian spots in the neighborhood that make all of the«best of lists» — I’m totally okay with Frost not being included on those lists because I don’t want this spot to be ruined by the attention. Frost is true to its roots & well-recognized by the surrounding Italian community for spectacular food. Mid-week you can walk in and be seated, during the weekend I recommend calling ahead, tables can get full… And, there is also a busy take-out counter. The lasagna is recognized by my in-laws as the best around. I enjoy the linguine with clam sauce and the veal scallopini. Every dish is big enough to take home leftovers. And the house red is pretty spectacular, as is the cheapest bottle of red on the wine list. Drink up! A slight con, the ambiance is bright, the floors are linoleum, but honestly, you’ll be enjoying your dinner so much you won’t care. This is a great place for group dinner. No attitude, just delicious food

Came in for lunch with the wife. The place just opened up and there was no one there and we had our choice of seats. Sat down and in seconds we had water and hot bread and butter. We ordered the Little necks and Shrimp cocktail. Gobbled them down. Then we had Baked Ziti and Fillet of Sole. Delicious… Gobbled that down too. We washed everything down with a couple of Caps and sat there for a minute. I have read that the décor is out dated. I personally love the décor and feel its part of Frost’s personality. Like stepping back into the eighties. Will go back when i am in the neighborhood again.

This restaurant was very busy for a Saturday night but the wait was not long! The service was quick and the food was great! We enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio. The dessert was amazing! Definitely get the Tartufo!!!

I live a few blocks from Frost in a neighborhood that is half single family homes and half high rise modern apartments, half Italian delis and half hipster coffee shops. I love being able to participate in both cultures. Frost is an old school Italian restaurant. If you hate paying $ 30 for 5 ravioli in Manhattan(that probably aren’t even homemade) you will like Frost. The best part of the old school mentality was the service, we had a team of servers attending to our needs. The worst part was the outdated environment with cracks in the leather seats and dulled utensils. Our meal started with a heaping plate of Italian bread. I immediately regretted eating five pieces. One of their specialties(as advertised on their printed awnings outside) is seafood so we ordered the fried calamari to start. For our main dishes, I had the manicotti(a steal at $ 11) and my boyfriend had veal. My big test when ordering manicotti is if it comes with a layer of melted mozzarella on top. Frost delivered mine covered with bubbling cheese so much so that when I gave my boyfriend a bite to try, he exclaimed«this is only cheese»! Just how I like it. The red sauce was bread dipping good. I’m from New Jersey so I am a red sauce snob. Frost was comfort food for me. If you like classic Italian food done right, you will like Frost. I just hope they update the interior to match the high quality of the food.

Went for a holiday gathering with 30 other people. Waiters were rude. Gave me wrong pasta and when I nicely mentioned it they got an attitude like I was lieing. Why would I lie about what I ordered. Overall I didn’t think this place was much more then an Olive Garden. For Williamsburg there are many better choices. Do yourself a favor and pick one.

This is NOT an Italian restaurant. It’s a great place for families that need to get out with their kids and pretend like they are going out somewhere nice at the same time. It’s absurdly overpriced and the food is nothing more than frozen entrees reheated served with mounds of tasteless marinara and a pound of Parmesan cheese on top. Skip it.

My favorite restaurant in all of New York City — and I’m a Manhattanite. But only for people who understand and appreciate Old Brooklyn. Shallow, trendy Manhattanites will not get it.(Thank God. This makes them stay away.)

I’ve been looking forward to visiting Frost for quite some time. Frost has been my best friend and her family’s go to Italian restaurant for ages. I finally had the chance to go on Sunday night and it was just as good as I expected! We started out a small order or baked clams, which were awesome! I then got an order of the veal alla casa and my friend had chicken alla casa. The sauce was excellent! Really difficult to explain, but similar to a vodka sauce(a little thinner) with butter and oil. I’m so excited that I finally had the chance to visit Frost and I can’t wait to visit again. I had my eye on the linguini and clam sauce. I’m definitely trying it next time!

This was my first time here and it will be my last. The pasta with white calm sauce was the worst I have had anywhere– totally tasteless– like eating spaghetti and water. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and tomatoes and two or three mushrooms– a pathetic waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend this place even if the food was free.

Consistency is the key here. I’ve dined at Frost many times in the past two years and you get exactly what you expect when you sit down to dinner. The seafood Mediterranean is amazing. The same tonight as is was 4 months ago, the same as it was 11 months ago. Consistently good, always tastes the same as the last time you enjoyed it.

This place is just fabulous. Big meaty lobster tails cooked to perfection. Amazing baked clams. Perfect pasta every-time. This is the place most old school Italian places wish they could be. I love love love this place!

A former Williamsburg resident, went back to the old nabe’ to what was my favorite restaurant. Even made a reservation for 7:30 pm for 5. Arrived 7:20 and was still waiting to be seated at 8:00pm. The kicker, they keep taking walk ins with groups of 4 or 3 leaving those of us with a reservation standing outside. So what is the purpose of a reservation if you can’t honor it. After a 30 minute wait, took my party and left. Oh by the way, reservation was made a week prior, and the reservation list is a yellow lined pad. Hope they don’t lose the pad. Food as rememer was good, but makes you wonder how good it is now when they could care less about reserved parties and prioritize walkins. Never again, don’t go unless you are willing to wait longer than expected. ZEROSTARSIFITWASAVAILABLE

I’ve been going to Frost since I was a young girl. It is apart of tradition and you always see someone you know. The food is fabulous, the shrimps are the best I’ve ever had. The service is also very good and I’ve never been disappointed. A great old school Italian restaurant.

This place is the real deal. The décor is old school but the food and service are top notch. The stuffed mushrooms were simple and out of this world good. I could have easily made a meal out of just the sauce it was in. The wife got the Cavatelli Bolognese which was their homemade pasta with a meat sauce straight from heaven. The dynamic flavor they extracted from the meat was something to behold. The mother in law got the chicken Marsala that was also another show stopper. The chicken was so moist and tender it seamed to melt in your mouth. I went with the calamari fra Diavolo which was spectacular. Once again, the sauce alone(with bread of course) would have been a meal but then when you add perfectly tender calamari and a few little necks to the equation it just took it to new heights. This is a destination for non pretentious Italian(the way it should be). I can’t wait to go back and sample some other dishes. Best cannoli I have ever had!

This place is the real-deal old-school Italian. Excellent red sauce, al dente pasta, decent bread aplenty, garlicky salad dressing, and carafes of house wine. Nothing nouvelle about it. And a crowd to match. Staff was attentive and friendly. There were clearly a lot of regulars in the house. I will be back!

My family and I have been coming to Frost for my entire life. In the new age of Williamsburg, my family has been here from the beginning. This is why it stings a little to write a negative review about this place. As a disclaimer the food was very good and my party enjoyed their dishes. However, when the bill came and it was time to pay we decided to use two credit cards and split it down the middle. It was not long after that I found out that I was charged three times. That didn’t bother me because, people make mistakes and that’s understandable. The thing that bothered me was the fact that when I asked to speak with a manager I was given a severe attitude and led to believe that I was in the wrong. The manager referred to his employee as a «moron» who had made a mistake. He had nothing to say for himself other than he was«100 percent right» he also went on to say how he didn’t like technology even though I was showing him the wrongful charges directly from my Bank of America app on my phone. It was like talking to a wall and the man was just disrespectful. Just a let down because I love going to old school places in Brooklyn that have sentimental value to me and my family. However, I can go to a thousand other places in that area code and spend 130 dollars for a dinner for 3 quite easily

Don’t get what all the hype is — neither did the others I was with and we won’t return. Let’s see why they only get 2 stars. –3 Stars: The fish is supposed to be great so THREE of us ordered seafood. We were banking on this being a great meal based on other reviews. The lobster plate with assorted seafood AND the shrimp french style were awful. MUSHY texture for both the lobster and shrimp means they couldn’t be fresh. We get better quality frozen seafood from Costco. The lobster dish was $ 38 and the Shrimp dishes were $ 25 or so don’t recall and perhaps there were 5 or 6 medium sized shrimp. That’s $ 88 bucks for lousy seafood — way too much money. +1 Star: The eggplant appetizer was yummy. +1 Star: Service was good.

Growing up in Carmel, NY I was raised eating a plethora of awesome Italian food. When I moved to Brooklyn I thought there’d be equally awesome Italian on every corner. Wrong. Most of the food I’ve tried hasn’t been nearly as good. That is, until Frost Restaurant. This is the spot. Heaps of bread and butter and roasted spicy green peppers when you first sit, and then everything ordered thereafter is awesome. Start with a carafe of red and enjoy your night. Baked clams, antipasto, pastas, entrees… plus a cappuccino a la Frost for dessert. Last night three of us got a carafe of wine, an appetizer, a pasta dish each, two desserts, and two cappuccinos and it came to $ 120. Cheap! The place is full of regulars and is the best old-school Italian in Williamsburg(also Clinton Hill, Park Slope, Fort Greene, Bed Stuy…)(a nod to Bamonte’s however) hands down.

I don’t usually go out for Italian food. With my Italian upbringing, I never felt like I needed to venture out for cuisine I eat on a regular basis. WRONG! Frost is THE neighborhood Italian food spot. Filled with«regulars» and absolutely, cooked to perfection, Italian food. We went as a large group and shared countless plates so I can’t even begin to list them individually. Many times, we tend to choose the flashiest place, with the big pricey menu and ambience assuming that bigger is better. You couldn’t be more wrong to pass up a place like this. The recipes are genuine, even your grandmother would admit it!
