Grandma’s Original Pizza

Best pizza I’ve had, period!!! Ordered the grandma pie. It was incredible! Best I’ve ever had! Perfect amount of cheese, sauce, garlic. Amazing. That sauce tastes like grandma spent all of Sunday slaving over it! So sweet, with garlic and savory bursting in your mouth. Crispy crust. True meaning of a grandma slice!
We had the garlic knots, no lie, best I’ve ever had. If I had anything to say about how amazing the pie was, now I can go on about how much more delicious these garlic knots were. So fluffy, I’ve never had a garlic knot this fluffy and perfected in my life! Smothered in garlic and olive oil… Mouthwatering good. Paired with the sauce, heaven.

I ordered 3 slices & mozzarella sticks. I am an indecisive person so I kept adding on what I wanted but that shouldn’t have been a problem because it seemed like I was the only costumer. The pizza man gave me the illest nastiest look ever. He was like don’t do that because I’m not tryna make a mistake… What? That was incredibly rude!!! Then I played around with him and continued to do it but I was laughing and this guy would not crack a smile. It was annoying and uncomfortable. The pizza was good but the mozzarella sticks tasted like 30 year old plastic play dough. I don’t know if I ever want to go back…

As someone who has a gluten intolerance, and a pizza lover, it’s very hard to find pizzerias where you can get the best of both worlds. Grandmas has the thinnest, crunchiest, and best tasting whole wheat slices I’ve ever had. This has become my «go-​to» pizza spot now. Love it.

The slice I ordered tasted of inferior ingredients the way I compared it to what I’m used to. I see why everyone returns to Del Corso all the time. Poor pizza flavor, and that sales tax routine; you would think I would get a receipt back. You do when it is true. This is just another pocket scam. You should bring exact change to a joint like this, then they would wake up.

I ordered three slices of grandma and two slices of bufflo, they taste really good and they delivered very fast, so five stars!

Grandma’s here are as good as it gets!
Sauce… chunky and sweet with a hint of basil
Cheese… chewy and savory
Crust… thin, but dense with a soft crunch that gives way to a balanced chewy texture similar to a NY bagel.
There’s rarely parking here during the day, so order ahead and to-​go because the décor is ridiculously retro in a bad way. I’ve only had the short-​sightedness to try the Grandma pizza, but all of the other specialty slices and even the garlic knots looked better than your average pizzerias’, especially the eggplant slice. Prices are exceptional for what you get. You may look at your g-​ma slice thinking it is way too small, but again, the density of the slice makes up for the lack of square-​inch. If this shop wasn’t an hour from where I live, you better believe I’d be here at least once a week. Until then, I’ll be here as often as you visit your grandma. Equally sad.

Best grandma pizza i’ve ever had.
The whole wheat is delicious too. Tomatoe sauce tastes fresh and never sour. Cheese is tasty. Crust is crispy but not hard. This pizzeria is the BEST.

Was looking forward to trying this pizza place after seeing all the good reviews on Unilocal.It sure didn’t disappoint. First off, the décor is kind of old school and small, but service was friendly and fast. All the prices and the types of pizza was clearly labeled.
Had their grandma slice, margherita slice, and buffalo chicken slice. Grandma and the margherita slice are similar. Just that one is a triangle and the other is a square. The grandma slice is crunchy and thin. The sauce and cheese tasted really fresh. Buffalo chicken slice is pretty good also. Generous amount of chicken pieces and sauce.
Overall, this is a good pizza joint. Many types of pizza slices to choose from. Looking forward to trying their other stuff.

Just moved to the neighborhood and found our new pizza spot! The sauce on their regular pie is very flavorful and the crust is always cooked perfectly. I haven’t tried anything else from here yet but if it’s close to as good as the pizza then we’re good to go.
The only negative, delivery does seem to take a while, no matter when you order. Expect to be waiting about an hour but the pie is always hot and fresh.

This place does not have correct prices listed on menu. Now I wonder if they charge different prices for their customers.

I really like my pizza, so it’s a really good thing that for many years, I had access to the solid slices that Grandma’s churns out. My go-​to has always been a standard pepperoni pie, though as the other reviewers suggest the grandma slices are indeed quite good. This place will never really beat out the coal and brick oven specialty pizzerias around town, but for a neighborhood joint with no lines and that’ll get a fresh pizza delivered to your door in 30 minutes, Grandma’s is A-​ok.

Decent food. Delivery takes a LONG time. Expect to wait up to 2 hours. They’ll also not include stuff that you ordered without calling you to let you know that they didn’t have any. Disappointing overall. With so many other options in the area it doesn’t make sense to order from them again.

A very strange Pizzeria to say the least. They’re known for the Grandma squares, which are excellent. Maybe the best I’ve ever had… But everything else is mediocre at best. The regular pie is OK. The chicken roll was not very good, and the garlic knots were eh.
Grandma pies are a must here though. The sauce, the crust. They def nail it. It’s a good pizza spot, they just need to work on everything besides the grandma pie.

This is my 3^rd time eating here, and each was far apart in time, so I wanted to review so that I dont forget the experience next time.
I ordered the margarita pizza and calamari oreganata appetizer. I have to say both were bland and (diner) mediocre. The pizza crust was soggy in the center on the bottom, and the outside crust was burnt black in some spots. I dont know, cant put my finger on it — didnt have a taste really. I felt some frozen pizzas have more flavor. The calamari description read as if it would be breaded and with some herbs, but most of the breading fell off on the dish — so it was just baked calamari rings. The calamari itself was easy to chew, but I thought it would come with a dipping sauce in addition to the lemons (maybe it wasnt supposed to, but they should really consider adding it).
Also I ordered at 2:30 and the food didn’t arrive until 4:15. I only ordered 2 things, live less than a half mile away, and it wasn’t dinner time. I dont get it. I probably won’t try for a 4^th time.

Grandmas original pizza is what you must order. It’s all about the sauce!!! That Marinera. Yummmmm. Every time I pass through Brooklyn I must stop in for a slice. It’s worth the try.

This place has grandma’s pizza, which is a very thin crust square slice with fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce. It even has a whole wheat crust version. A slice of this is $ 2.50 and $ 2.75 for whole wheat plus tax… seriously? Why can’t you include tax like the rest of the pizzerias. It’s just annoying when you pay.
Anyway, the pizza itself is good. The sauce is a little on the sweet side. The crust is nice and thin.

I really enjoy this pizza.
It has a different flavor that makes them different from other pizza places.
I don’t know what size we bought but the squares are almost as big as fingers and the palm of my hand! So, one slice is all you may need! but, if your will is weak, you’ll end up wanting and probably eating 2 or 3! =)

I used to not eat a lot of pizza but once I had pizza here, that changed! High quality ingredients equals delicious pizza. Very authentic and highly recommended!

Friendly. Awesome pizza. Always cooked perfectly. Good prices– only $ 16 + tax for an original Grandma pie! Check out my photos. Huge and delicious. One of the best in all of NY.
Also note: the Sicilian pizza is good too. Just thicker.
This pizza is also good cold. Can’t say that about many pizza places in NY.
