I decided to try this place for the first time. It’s definitely not the best pizza/pasta that I have had. Basically, there are much better pizzerias in this area – that’s for sure!!! Don’t waste your time.

I used to come here all the time as a kid but last time I came here i asked for a slice and the owner or manager just threw literally threw my slice in the oven with his dirty hands like he didn’t even care and charged me 2.75 I didn’t even eat the slice I wanted to flip out but I figured there’s no point it’s better if I just never come back save your money go to originals, bens or pizza wagon in bay ridge all better than petes

My son left his blue hippo behind, and the nice gentleman chased us down the street to give him back to us. A+ service, even though we only bought a single slice. The slice was good too. Great sauce.

I’ve ordered from«Pete’s Pizzeria, many times.» In the past their pizza was really good, especially the white pizza ! Anyway I decided to order a white pizza, today. I was looking forward too it… Unfortunately, when it arrived, the pizza was soaked with olive — oil, and in addition it was undercooked as well… I contacted the pizzeria, and briefly discussed my disappointment… The counter person offered to deliver another pie, so I accepted the replacement pizza… This was by far worse than the original slop, they sent me, because it was covered with oil and not even cooked — UGH ! Pete’s Pizzeria, has seen the last of my business, I’m sure you agree ? Eileen M.

Ordered chicken roll and sausage roll… they were almost burnt yet the dough inside was still raw. Yuck! Will not come here again. Let the«cook» know and we got nothing but attitude… I mean how do your screw up a chicken roll… Employees were also standing right outside the door smoking… sooo all the smoke was coming right into the pizzeria. I really don’t recommend.

Ordered a pie from here and was happy overall. A little expensive to me, but that may be attributed to the area. I thought the ratio of cheese to sauce was good. Delivery was quick, and the driver was polite. I am rating them a 4 over a 5, because I was charged for a 2 liter and received a liter and the dough seemed very dense in some areas.

I get takeout here all the time. The pizza and sandwiches are good and the service is fast.(hot sandwiches are made fresh and take up to 15 – 20 minutes so call ahead.) The place is what it is — a neighborhood pizza stand. It’s not a three or four star restuarant and it doesn’t try to be. There’s a TV inside that you can watch while you eat. There are half a dozen or so tables so if you’re with a group of friends you’ll be fine. Personally I don’t care if Pete or anyone else stands on the sidewalk and smokes. It’s not like he or anyone else smokes inside the place.

Go anywhere else first. 1) The slices aren’t all that great, or even good. 2) God forbid they say, Thank you, Have a nice day, Good to see you, etc. 3) Next time you’re close, check out all the cigarette butts out front. Pete likes to smoke and just throw his cigarette buts on the ground out front. Classless move. He had my business, since it was convenient, but #1 couldn’t outweigh #2 and #3.

I love this place. The Chicken Francese and the Chicken Parmigiana dishes are amazing. The Baked Clams are also really good!!! This is the only Pizzeria I order from because their dishes and the pizzas are so damn good!

When I first moved into the neighborhood, I was looking for something quick and easy to grab and take home. My husband and I each got a hero from here. For the price, I was pretty impressed at the quantity. One hero each was way too much for both of us. They were fully loaded. The toppings were spilling out(which was great) and the sauce was making the bread kind of mushy(which was not so great). As far as taste – it’s pretty much what I expected: nothing super impressive, but I wasn’t let down either. As far as a simple meal, it’s not a bad choice.

Pete’s. What can I say, I love this place. To me, Tony and the crew make the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. When away from NY I shudder whenever anyone suggests we get pizza, because I know it will be a disappointment after having had Pete’s. They’ve ruined me in terms of ever enjoying another slice anywhere else ever again. But I’m not calling that a bad thing. I’ve been going there for years and live around the block. My bf has been going there for close to 15 years and we both are devoted customers. In addition to pizza, they have dinners, sandwiches, pasta, rolls, calzones, pinwheels, garlic knots, even soup(!), and in the warmer months Italian ice. It is all good. Better than good — delicious. It has that secret ingredient: love; a true passion for the pie and all things Italian. In addition to awesome food that’s about a 3 minute walk out my front door, the people at Pete’s are great. No glad-handing b/s, just honest-to-goodness guys(and the occasional gal) who know their pizza, and their neighborhood. They’re hardworking; and every time we stop in or pass them on the street there’s always a wave, a smile, a hello, how are you doing? If I’m without my guy, they ask about him. And if he’s there without me, they ask after me too. Pete’s is the type of place that makes me so glad that I live here. It’s a big reason why Bay Ridge feels more like a small town somewhere in middle America back in the 1950s. And that, to me, is a very good thing. Something the rest of the country in large part no longer has(you know those towns where all they have are Starbucks and corporate restaurant chains with flair-wearing, overly enthusiastic servers? Yes, awful places such as that really do exist, and in large number). Last thoughts — Tony is a true Bay Ridge icon. That man makes me smile every time I see him. It doesn’t get more Brooklyn than him. And that sign, it’s a gem that I hope lasts forever. I lied, one more thought: the delivery guys are all super nice, fast at delivering your food, and they remember your name and say hello whenever they see you out and about.

I came here in a rush, I was already late, since my client was expecting me 6 min ago. But I had to get something to eat. I was walking by and noticed this pizza place. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything special. I ordered the eggplant slice, cold, though the nice man behind the counter wanted to heat it, to amplify the taste. I declined, got my slice, no extra condiments and dashed. my first bite, holy crap that’s awesome! It was a layered eggplant slice. nice. I feel bay ridge is so severely underrated when it comes to pizza it is mind boggling. It has some of the most unique pizzas and flavours I’ve come across. can’t wait to be back, and hopefully get a warm slice next time around.

I read all the crummy reviews and figured I’d get great, old-school pizza, and I was right. Crisp/chewy crust was perfect, cheese was perfect, lots of good sauce, overall wonderful. Delivered in about ten minutes by a super-nice guy. Price can’t be beat, either.

Last resort if you can’t get somewhere else. Cheap non stringy cheese. Dried out slices.

This place is just a place you grab a slice from if you are not near anywhere else which might be better. Its one of those joints in Bay Ridge which to me, has nothing at all unusual or distinctive about it to distinguish it from any of its peers on the rest of the rungs of the lesser-pizza-tier it occupies. The pizza is basically tasteless. It is hot and fresh, and filled my need to scarf something down but nothing much more can be said about it. The tomato sauce is thin and without any kind of ‘zip’ or ‘snap’ in the slightest. Cheese is nowhere near salty enough. Crust? Perhaps the most important part of the pie. But here it is handled negligibly. No effort is made to follow any classic tradition. It was thick, and doughy. Pete’s has the usual variety of slice choices on the counter; and specialty rolls. They’re probably okay but none of it looked all that appetizing. Hey, I am sure they make some decent products here; but I’m just not that interested in trying every last thing they offer in order to find out what that might be. The place looked clean enough. It’s definitely an ‘old school’ pizzeria with ‘old school’ looks. I would certainly sit down here and eat. And while I did not exchange enough conversation with the staff(two older gentlemen) to discern *either* geniality or gruffness. I will say its refreshing to encounter at least one pizzeria in Bay Ridge run by guys who actually appear to be Italians. I know they don’t give a rat’s ass what any fool like me posting on Unilocal has to say about their place, and I respect them for that. That’s as it should be.

The Pizza’s here pretty damn good. That’s all I have to say because if you ask the people that work there, that’s probably what they’d say too.

Can’t complain — was hungry, quickly got a slice to go. The environment isn’t remodeled like Bob W. says, so don’t expect anything over the top. Very quiet, hardly any chatter. Food is displayed by the counter and menu is legible. $ 2.25 is the standard for a plain slice, so no surprise here. Overall, quick decent on-the-go experience.

Shit, this place is fiiiiilthy — all the more reason to just get it delivered. But man it is GOOD and so cheap. The pizzas are good, nothing really mind blowing, but cheap and they don’t charge for extra sauce. The eggplant parm subs are longer than a forearm, really tasty and again, dirt cheap. Don’t expect friendly people behind the counter, or on the phone, but whatever, based on the prices I would guess the staff makes no more than $ 1.75 per hour.

Just finished a spinach roll which was certainly one of the better spinach rolls I’ve had from a pizzeria in quite some time. The pizza, on the other hand, is horrible. Possibly the worst in Bay Ridge.
