This place is the best Thai restaurant in the area! Very authentic and tasty Thai food. Staff is friendly. Take out curry portion is more than dine in. I come here at least once a week.

I order here about twice a week. No other Thai restaurant nearby compares. None. Especially not hop hap. FIVESTARS!

Seriously delicious! We have a table of 10 and everyone is happy with their meals. I get pineapple fried rice w tofu at every Thai restaurant I go to and I’m usually disappointed, but I would rank tonight’s meal at #2! Additionally, very attentive service, so very pleased overall!

I have never felt the need to review a place but these folks are awesome. Their food is great, spicy, hearty, and a good deal. And they are super polite. I usually only get takeout because I have usually worked out after work in the city but I would highly recommend it as a date spot. It’s super cute and the cocktails look good, though I admit I haven’t tried one yet. I need to take my girlfriend there soon! Just go, and thank me later.

I had a roller coaster experience at Nine D. On my first visit the place smelled strongly of fish. I stayed to eat as my feet were tired and I thought it was cute. My food was good and prices were reasonable, so I went back. On the second visit it smelled and tasted better and my server was much friendlier. I thought I’d found my neighborhood spot. On my fourth or fifth visit my rice was dry, and my entrée(ginger chicken) was not as good as it had been in the past. I paid cash at prior visits, but due to a recent visit to the ATM I found that I had only a $ 50 so I first offered Amex. Neither form of payment was accepted and the third form of payment was requested in a not so friendly manner. This experience pushed me to walk further to try VIP Thai. I’ve had two very positive visits so far with good food and service so I think it will be my regular place. I also like Spice on Smith, it is consistently good, but a further walk. One big positive for a return visit to Nine D — they are open until 11 pm — many restaurants close at 10 pm in the area.

3 to 3.5 stars. I used to order delivery from this place regularly, but not so much anymore. Like many Thai places in NYC, Nine-D places an emphasis on flavors but ignores cooking temperatures and textures. All proteins usually end up overcooked and chewy. It’s also not spicy enough. The beef pad see ew is an exception. I like the soups and most of the appetizers(curry puff, dumplings, salads, etc). Portion sizes are a bit small for the price you pay, and you have to pay extra for rice. However, delivery is very quick and efficient. As long as you order the right dishes, it’s perfectly acceptable delivery.
