Biggest asshole ever in that black tank top cowardly hiding his face from my camera.
Note: this occurred at the Brooklyn Bridge Smörgåsbord location on Sunday, August 9^th at 5pm.
I stepped up with my wife and child and politely ordered some noodles. I then asked if it was cash only. He felt compelled to scream at me saying «SEE THAT BIG TENT OVER THERE?!»
Me: um, no. Where? Why?
Toolbag: THAT’S THE ATM!
Me: ok, I don’t see any reason to yell.
Toolbag: IF YOU’D OPEN YOUR EYES, YOU’D NOTICE THE BIG LETTERS THAT SAY ATM.
Me: Ok, I’m sorry, I didn’t come in that way; I didn’t see that sign. And I don’t see any indication they your business is cash only.
Toolbag: IT’S A BIG TENT WITH BIG BLACK LETTERS! GO OVER THERE AND GET YOUR CASH.
Me: Nevermind, I don’t want to eat here any more.
Toolbag: NOT MY FAULT.

I ordered the chilled peanut noodles with cucumber, scallions, and chili oil (mild) from Noodle Lane at Smorgasburg and it was wonderful. The serving size is good for the price and bursting with flavor. The guys working the booth were friendly. If you’re a noodle fan, there’s a must stop at Smorgasburg!

Dan Dan mien was ok. The chuerng fun was good, but I don’t think either were worth $ 8

Noodle Lane. More like Soggy Noodle. These noodles were over cooked mushy and flavorless. No spice. Just bland over cooked noodles.
The Bahn Mi was an embarrassment to Bahn Mi. Dry with overly sweet pickled daikon.
Despite the ridiculously small portion (considering the price) I threw most of this in the trash and went to brunch.
Let down.

Delicious delicious delicious. I loved the peanut noodles. They’re hot and sweet at the same time. Their accuracy for spicy level is on point! My mouth wasn’t on fire with the medium, but I could feel the heat. They add scallions and cucumber for a really great crunch on top. It’s a good contrast. I offered a bite to my friend and regretted it immediately as she kept stealing bites. Trust me, you won’t want to share. Service is super nice too! Food is quick.

TIP: Mix noodles before eating!
Review: Dan Dan Noodles $ 8
With dan dan noodles I’m usually accustomed to all the sauce on the top so you instinctively want to mix the dish so you don’t get a mouthful of sauce. But, Noodle Lane has all the goodness at the BOTTOM! It’s not a thick sauce but more soupy which is why it travels to the base of the bowl. I wish I had realized that before digging into this delicious dish. MIX THE NOODLES WITH THE SAUCE AT THE BOTTOM!
Portions were great for personal size. Noodles were the perfect texture (chewy and smooth). The toppings were small in portion but very tasty and well marinated. The presentation was very appetizing. Overall a very nice dish. I think the highlight was the SAUCE. What makes their dan dan amazing is their special homemade sauce. The sauce is what makes visiting them so fan-​worthy. You can choose mild, medium, hot, extra hot and that sauce just oozes over the noodles and really brings out all the flavors. It got better with every bite. Despite knowing how many vendors there were I secretly wanted another bowl.
The only wish is that they would have more meat sprinkling the top. I love a hearty and meaty dan dan mein.
Next time I def want to try her Cold Sichuan Cucumber Salad. Looks fantastic.

Got addicted to their Dan Dan Noodles with cucumber combo. Really good stuff. Been getting it 4 weeks in a row, so kinda have to give them 5 stars ;).
