I would rate the sandwiches here four and a half stars. I highly recommend picking up a bite here if you’re attending smorgasborg. We tried the bahn mi scallion pancake sandwich/wrap. It had a great balance of flavors and was ready fairly quickly despite the line. I like the different types of crispiness of the sandwich which had crunchy crispiness coming from the fresh cucumbers and carrots as well as doughy crispiness coming from the scallion pancake.

Last summer and a few before that, this place was legit. We just got a couple sandwiches today, first day of the Smorg and they were inedible. Pulled meat and coldcuts have replaced their old menu items featuring whole pieces of meat. The braised pork looked like tuna fish, tasted like it too. The cheap slab of ham from costco for particularly gross. Even the pancake wasnt as good as it was. Sorry OB, you used to be really really good but now, this is nothing more then a cheap deli sandwich.

The idea is marvelously simple– stuff a simple scallion pancake with an assortment of meats, ranging from porkbelly to beef and charge $ 8 – 9 for it. Given the dearth of substantive food options at Smorgas – everything costs about $ 8 – 10 for nothing more than a bite – this little stand definitely gives you the best bang for your buck. It’s effortlessly flavorful and definitely worth a visit to pad your stomach while you sample the remaining expensive food novelties at Smorgas.

Came to try the braised beef pancake, it was alright, not worth the price. Very chewy, probably not my type of food I guess.

Stopped by their booth at Smorgasburg on a hot Sunday with a few friends. I am always craving Asian food and I had not tried a scallion pancake wrap. I got the braised beef one while my friend got roast pork. We both loved the flavors and the food came super quick. My only complaint is that I wish my beef was a bit warmer but the flavor was amazing! Make sure you bring cash!

Easily one of the best things I’ve had at Smorgasburg. We ordered the braised beef and roast pork. The scallion pancake wrap was crispy and flavorful. The braised beef included cilantro so may not appeal to everyone but left me dreaming for more. Next weekend cannot come soon enough! I thought the roast pork was too sweet but still pretty good. I can’t wait to try the crispy pork belly next. The only downside is they don’t except credit cards. I have one word for all of you cash only vendors… Square. Do it and you won’t be sorry.

I LOVED this place last year when they had the Chinese sausage, but I went back this year and got the pork belly because the girl working recommended it. Fatty pork belly is usually fine by me, but for some reason this time it tasted very chewy and fatty… which isn’t the ideal texture. Great in theory and maybe I just got a bad batch! I’ll have to try it next time, but please bring back the Chinese sausage!

The roast pork pancake was the best thing I ate at Williamsburg Smorgasburg. This is basically a green onion scallion pancake acting as a wrap for this roast pork and hoisin sauce combo. Asian burrito at its best. Tons of food carts at the event but this is worth waiting in line for.

This place just makes me happy. The most recent two times I was at Smorgasburg it was cold as heck and I did not enjoy, but this place made up for it. Delicious wonderfulness is all I can say about the beef pancake. I kept dreaming about it after the first time, and felt like a stalker messaging them to find out where they would be the next day. I ultimately held it together and waited a week till next Saturday! Can’t wait to return and try something different. So hoping they get a brick and mortar store soon!

Got a chance to try these over at their stall in Smorgasburg. Always a line at this booth but it moves quickly. Love to see how the prep these wonderful wraps as the scallion wraps are put on the hot griddle. Had the roast pork and the pork belly scallion pancake wraps. My preference was the roast pork. Tender juicy with a great hoisin sauce and greens in a crispy yet chewy interior scallion wrap. The pork belly had a nice crispy skin but was a bit fatty. Go for the roast pork wrap, a great meal or snack and would try again.

This was surprisingly my favorite entrée that I had at Smorgasburg. I’ve had similar things to this in China and I’ve always craved it when I came back to the states. Although Outer Borough makes it with a little more Americanized flare, I thought their pancakes were delicious. I ordered the beef roll and left a satisfied customer. The portions are decent for the price($ 8 – 9). They are freshly made and you can watch them as they go about this. They don’t skimp on meat and I love the mix of fresh vegetables and herbs inside such as cucumber, cilantro and scallions. Such a beautiful blending of flavors from both the meat and veggies.

How is there not a 50 person line for these scallion pancakes!!! I have dreams about the roast pork scallion pancake. All those people lining up for the ramen burger are missing out on one of the best items at smorgasburg.

While I found it overpriced and over-salted, I enjoyed the Chinese Sausage + Egg Scallion Pancake Roll for $ 9. It’s a solid dish at the Brooklyn Flea and worth trying. Be prepared to wait 15 – 20 minutes.

The sauce — Just enough and makes every bite oh-so-darn tasty The scallion pancake — crispy and perfection The meat — super flavorful The staff — super friendly and cool The price — great and super affordable for the amount of food you get I grew up eating beef rolls and scallion pancakes… not just from anywhere but from hole in the wall restaurants in Chinatown that know how to make authentic beef rolls… and Outerborough tops all of them. He adds a special twist and innovative spin on the beef roll, i.e. Egg and sausage scallion pancake, hot pepper sautéed beef roll. They all taste soo delicious. I never get tired of eating them.

I have tried scallion pancakes MANY times, and of those times I have never liked it. Would I ever willingly order it? NO. Would I eat it? Yes, but only if I was starving and there was nothing else to eat. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, being dragged out by my friend with the promise of a nice cold beer afterwards… OFCOURSE he would come here and order the beef roll(THEROLL = scallion pancake). My initial thoughts were NO, NO, and NO! Lucky for me, he had already ordered one to share and gave me the smaller half(initial thought: THANKYOU!). In reality, NOTHANKYOUCAUSE I WANTEDMYOWNROLLNOW! Upon first bite, truly amazing! Where have you been all my life you delicious scallion pancake with tender juicy beef and how come I do not recognize you? Fresh and flavorful, THAT’S WHY! It was literally a mouth party and I LOVECILANTRO(feel free to grab some more and throw it in there)!! LOVED that its made right in front of you and you can watch the cook in action. Also, I’m guessing they make their own sauce? It’s delicious and something about the combo of scallion pancake, beef, cilantro, cucumbers(?), and the sauce is just a match made in heaven! Would I ever order scallion pancakes willingly? NO. Would I ever order it from here? H — E — double hockey sticks — YES! ps: «flush» down all the greasy goodness with an apple soda and THANKMELATER! :)

The beef rolls with the special sauce is simply phenomenal. The beef is super flavorful, and it’s paired with freshly sliced cucumber and parsley gives the rolls a nice added juicy and refreshing balance. Thumbs up to the chef, this dish is just finger licking good! they also make a really great shaved up dessert!

We went to the Dumbo Smorgasburg yesterday to check out the food madness… I have to say the entire place was just ok in terms of food offerings… nothing really different in terms of interesting stuff that I gotta have… BUT I do say you got to check out this place!!! Get the Beef Roll and scallion pancake! It was really yummy! You see my wife is Taiwanese so kinda knows a thing or two about Taiwanese food. My wife and I and the kids really enjoyed the food. It has a great blend of the flaky goodness, Taiwanese style beef and yummy sauce. The staff was great and they were cool to listen to some of my wives’ suggestions… so we are hoping for Stinky Tofu next time hehehee… Taiwanese Food on the go… what a great concept! So if you do go to Smorgasburg, u have to stop by here! =) ~mike

I have had many scallion pancakes… and this is by far the best I ever had! It’s flakey and made fresh to order. My friends and I ordered the beef rolls and the scallion pancake to share and boy were we satisfied. The Borough sauce was awesome. We had to ask for more. Perfect combination! Overall an amazing experience. If you’re at Smorgasburg, Outerborough is a must try.

Stopped by LIC flea and food, and this was the first vendor I tried. This place did not disappoint, I got a boat load of tender beef rolled into a scallion pancake. The sauce they put inside the roll was delicious. One of the few places I’ll definitely come back to.
