I come here all the time. The location is great, right off the Bedford Ave L, and the food is delicious. My typical meal is the quarter chicken with collard greens and spinach. They have a good lunch deal, but the dinner price is fair and the quality is always great. The staff is also very friendly.

This is a really fun and unique place! They have warm and delicious country food. I came here on a Saturday night with two other people. There are a handful of tables in the front section around the counter and a bunch of more tables in the back. Service was quick and food was very good. I ordered the rotisserie chicken breast, sweet potato, and okra; others in my group had the corn and the collard greens. I felt the rotisserie chicken breast was a little dry in some places, but the tasty skin made up for it and I moistened the meat with my mashed sweet potato. The portions are large and very healthy and they have a few beers on tap. You can choose from 4 different sizes, each priced accordingly. I was very happy with the atmosphere, the food, the price. Keep up the good work!

Conveniently near the L. Delicious meatloaf. The sides were not bad but nothing special. I do like the pineapple cider they had. Plenty of seating even out back.

Love their juicy rotisserie chicken and delicious side dishes. It’s one of the best places for comfort food. Oh, and their hot sauce is the BEST. Ask for it.

Me and a few coworkers order from here. The food was typical Williamsburg food. I enjoyed the Mac and cheese but everyone else thought it was salty and not good. The Rotisserie chicken was hardly seasoned and burned. I really don’t know how one can screw up mashed potatoes and corn but they successfully screwed it all up. The«Corn bread» was ridiculous small. It’s like the size of a quarter. It was really good though. Probably the only good thing we had in our meals. I definitely will not be ordering from here again.

Terrible food, no flavor, no salt. Nothing was good, tried Mac and cheese, chicken and mashed potatoes-gross. Do not return.

My friend and I ordered the family style meal, since it seemed to be more food for the same price than if we had both ordered chicken dishes. The meal was HUGE – large pieces of chicken, three sides, and cornbread. We were both super hungry so we ate a lot… and I still had leftovers for two meals! We ordered corn and mashed potatoes for sides – you can’t really go wrong with these dishes, but they were simply mediocre. Our third side, mac n cheese, was probably the worst one – a little too dry and salty. Chicken was decently roasted, but nothing to die for. Overall, a simple meal that I probably could’ve just made at home, but at least for the portion size we both got our money’s worth. Plates/glasses/silverware were a little dirty, and the seat I was sitting on rocked around.

Amazing food for lunch. Portions are big and homey. Most of all the clientele is so delicious to look at for hours. Lots and lots of eye candy strolling in and out constantly.

All I know is I was really drunk, and I got their meatloaf sandwich delivered to a bar. It was heaven. Beer goggles aside I’d get it again.

So delicious, tons of food, & great music. I ordered 3 of the veggie sides & can’t wait to go back again & try 3 more. I wish the food was a little hotter, but I love how it’s served from Le Creuset cookware so it’s all worth it. I feel like I’m actually eating home cooked food without having to deal with a family holiday. Win-win. Bonus– the lovely woman running the show calls you«darlin’.» Who doesn’t like that?

They used days old chicken in my Ceasar salad ;(wouldn’t have been a big issue if the chicken was at least white meat…) there’s old/dry dark meat along with the old wrinkled skin… ewwwwww…

Great home style food similar to boston market. It’s kinda pricy, considering its not a sit down kind of restaurant, but the portions are generous and the food is delicious. The staff is nice, though a little scattered, probably because of how busy they usually are. You can also sit and people watch.

I thought this place was very pleasant. A little overpriced, but you get a lot of food for your buck. I bought the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. I was very satisfied, and very full. The wait staff was really nice and the atmosphere was great since this is one of the only restaurants that wasn’t packed and too loud. I would come back if I wanted wholesome fast food in Williamsburg.

Wow! Fresh homemade taste. Half rotisserie chicken was huge. Next time I will get a quarter, not a half chicken dinner. The corn bread muffin on the side was fresh and tasty. Be sure to try the okra. It’s the best I’ve eaten. Local beers on tap. Those that say Boston Market is better… I don’t know what to say. Not anywhere in the same league as this place.

I’m not sure where to start. This place is very similar to Boston Market, except I would pick Boston Market. The chicken was delicious, but the sides(I tried the Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & roasted veggies) all seemed under seasoned. But the tables did have salt & pepper shakers so that helped. My hubby ordered the sausage & that was ok but didn’t seem substantial enough & we also ordered the turkey special and the turkey was good. So meat wise the food was yummy & comforting but don’t go in expecting amazing comfort food. Service — really nice people, but not really with it. Our order took several repetitions & still at the end of it all it wasn’t right. There were two orders of mashed potatoes with gravy, both were given with no gravy. We went back to get some. Our orders were to stay, one was given on plates, the other in to go containers in a bag. So there was something off with service. Definitely frustrating. On a positive note: I thought the atmosphere was perfect, although in need of some stronger air conditioning. We chose to sit in the back yard area that is covered with a canopy that appears to be provided by the tree & once the sun started heading down lights were turned on & it was really nice. The outdoor seating was along the lines of picnic tables. Inside had a nice wooden vibe but we were a larger group & outside was more suitable for us. Also inside was a bit hot for our taste. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again … Especially with spots near by that are way more spot on in the food & service department.

I’ve heard a lot of people say they love this place, but I have been here a few times and I would much rather go to Boston Market(sorry!) My dad, the original foodie, loves it. but, I just can’t come to terms with this place. Maybe my taste buds are weird?

Two out of two bad experiences here. 2nd one being today… about an hour ago. 1st time: I ordered take out. The guy at the counter handed me my credit card receipt to sign and very loudly and obnoxiously says«This is where you tip» and points to the area to write in tips. It was take out. I’m normally a 20%+ tipper although not on take out and I certainly don’t like being publicly shamed in to tipping on take out. I swore never to go back. But tonight I gave them a second try because I had to buy a lot of food for buffet style entertaining. Big mistake. I walk in and it’s the same guy behind the counter. Great :/And a girl. The guy is playing with his nails, standing around doing basically nothing. The girl was very slowly finishing with a customer ahead of me. Once finished she fiddled around, avoided eye contact, turned her back to me and started messing with some sign. Despite standing there for several minutes no one even said hi or acknowledged me in any way. How about an «Hi. I’ll be right with you»? Now there are 3 people that have walked in standing in line behind me. Does she care? Nope. Does he care? Nope. She finishes with her sign and then starts small-talking with the her overeager-for-tips coworker. This is when I leave. Never greeted. Never acknowledged. Management needs more oversight here. Your staff is lousy. And lazy. I’m sure they were thrilled that I left so they could continue loafing Avoid this place. I took my business to Mables. The food is better and the customer service fantastic.

I’ve dined here a handful of times and it’s the place for home-style comfort food. The Chicken Soup was pleasant and had plenty of veggies. Their popular dish: Meatloaf with gravy has always hit the spot. The Mac & Cheese and mini Corn Bread were delicious. The mashed Sweet Potatoes was plainly good. You see pots covered with lids on the counter behind a glass divider and point out your order. The staff plates everything before your eyes. You pay instantly and carry your plate(s). Tables are aligned by the entrance along with more in the back room. There is a backyard with benches, opened seasonally. You can also help yourself with carafes of water and glasses by the entrance.
