«You may want to have a snack first» A friend picked this place for a night out, so I did not Unilocal the place before dining. I was quite pleased that it was a cute«shack» with a lot of available outdoor seating and I was like«SCORE!».Then, I thought to myself why are there so many empty tables outside when it is such a nice night? We got our table and ordered. Upon getting the chips with a small serving of guacamole for 11 bucks, I realized that the place is overpriced. Then my two carne assada tacos($ 11) came out and I was surprised. The diameter of the tortillas was about 2.5in and there was very little carne assada filling. Sorry, there is no picture but I was so hungry that I ate them really quickly. Plus, the tacos were not that great; mainly, the carne was a little dry. Maybe the tacos should be placed under the appetizer section of the menu. I’ve been to «fancy» places with tacos of that size and they were around 5 bucks(8 bucks, tops) for two. The draft beers($ 7 bucks) are the only reasonable price items here. The draft beers, the service and the ample outdoor seating are the only decent things here. If you have a taco fix, you will not be fulfilled here. Perhaps, the other plates are better.

The seafood parillada(for two) — solid, the pulpo dogs– beyond amazing and although listed in the snacks section of the menu, the portion is good enough of a size to make for an interesting lunch. The burger– really good. The décor is a little weird, sorta like a New England seafood shack eternally celebrating Cinco de Mayo. The service was great, only complaint is the waitress took one of the plates with a few French fries still on it assuming it was done, but, I mean a French fry should never go to waste. I’ll go again.

This place has amazing tacos and the bacon octopus was to die for. Now to the negative of this place. The service is horrible. First our waiter was inattentive, a bit unprofessional. The bust boy really upset me I was not done with my food and he took my dates plate as well as my plate. The drinks were horrible especially for the price. The bar was very selective and shocked me… what Bar doesn’t make or know how to make a «long Island iced tea». Neither a dark and stormy was known. First time and last time going I really was not impressed.

Literally the worst place ever. After ordering an overpriced quesadilla and receiving HALF of one(portions are small) and an overpriced ceviche, we attempted to split the check on our cards. Not only were we charged the wrong amount(we instructed the server how to split it), I woke up to find that my card was charged twice – once for the correct amount and once for the incorrect amount. Learn how to use a card machine.

Fantastic fish tacos. Great Quinoa side! Definitely recommend this place for those 2.

We went to Rosarito when it first opened a few years ago and were underwhelmed with the value proposition(just ok food for tiny portions and exorbitant prices) so never returned until this Memorial Day when we decided to give it a second chance hoping they had fixed some of the initial issues. My husband ordered a dish that included a poached egg with hollandaise sauce. We asked the server to please substitute the hollandaise for either tomatillo or red sauce, both of which are on their menu. We asked this because my husband can’t eat hollandaise sauce for medical reasons which we told the server. The server looked uncomfortable at the request, but said he would«ask the chef». When he returned to our table he informed us the following: «the chef does not want to alter the dish». That is tantamount to saying: your health issues are not important, the chef’s culinary ego is. You would think a restaurant would take food allergies seriously but sadly that is not the case in this establishment. Our request was reasonable. We weren’t asking someone to de-salt a soup or take the sesame seeds out of a pre-prepared dish. We are asking for a very simple please use sauce«A» instead of sauce«B» on top of the poached egg. To us, this was customer service at is worst and so we decided to vote with our feet and cancelled our whole brunch order. We had brunch afterwards at one of favorite restaurants in the neighborhood(Café Mogador, just half a block away) where we had yet another stellar, satisfying meal with staff who cares about their customers. Rosarito: if we’re not worth your service, you’re not worth our money. We shall never be back. For anyone visiting Williamsburg, I urge you to listen to someone who has lived here 6 years and avoid this place at all costs. There are many other outstanding restaurants in the neighborhood where your money will be much better spent.

Meh. Decent outdoor corner spot for when it’s nice outside, but too overpriced.

1 hour wait for a lobster taco. I said forget it after 35 minutes and left. Rude service and out of order bathrooms causing lines out the door.

Came here for Mother’s Day and was let down. The décor is super cute, but food and service were not good. The oysters, however, were really delicious and I’d come back just for oysters/drinks at the bar. I had salmon and it came out raw. Sent it back and it came out overcooked and bland. Ceviche was not good. Server was totally inattentive.

They say it’s all about the company. It’s certainly true. My best friend brought me to this place for cinco de mayo. We had a blast. It’s situated in a corner street. Likely to be missed since everything else is residential. When we arrived it was empty. 10 – 15 minutes later it started to get jammed packed. For cinco de mayo they had a dj. He was mostly playing 80’s music. Was a little downer at first. But as the night progressed he became adventurous. The place itself has a retro look. Keeping with the whole Williamsburg vibe. It’s not your normal every day Mexican joint. Very cozy for a date or dinner with a group of friends. We started off with classic margaritas on the rocks. Props to the bartender! Good tequila was used because no headache the next day. They were strong but not distasteful strong that they are undrinkable. Ok, let’s say they were pppperfecto! Next up was an order of guacamole and chips. Delicious! The guacamole portion was enough to share for 2 but I think 3 as well. We didn’t finish it. They were also kind enough to bring us extra chips after we finished the first batch. Yaaaayyyy For entrees my buddy ordered the fish tacos and I had carnitas tacos. I try those every Mexican place I go. The pork was juicy and very flavorful. They also added some sort of orange mayo aioli on top. It brought all the flavors together nicely. You get two small tacos per order. I ended up getting. Second order. I was hungry! However, I could only finish 3 tacos in total. I picked at the last taco as best I could but it was difficult. We also had a site of quinoa with what seemed to be some sautéed kale. It was an incredible side dish. Quinoa is usually flavorless. But this place does an amazing job at packing on the flavors. Amazing all the way. The service was great as well. Our waitress came by often to check on us for refills, new plates, and if we wanted additional items off the menu. All while the place was pretty busy. So we felt they had a great grasp on multi tasking. Only reason why I took off a star was for the music. Their speakers in the back room are not as good. If they try to put the music louder there is very bad static projected from them. Simple replacement for a better brand or maybe just better wiring may help this issue. The DJ also wasn’t that great as mentioned previously. Mexican places are for upbeat happy music. Play some top hits, r&b, hip hop. He’s started with 80’s slow ballads. Making it seem like elevator music at one point. There is outside seating when the weather is nice. I will be back. See you soon. Ps margaritas are only $ 7!

I wanted to like this place because I love seafood and the place looks great. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks from the bar. We ordered seafood for two. The plate looks amazing but the salmon was raw at the bottom. The dish included a sad looking corn. Our server did not check in on us after the food was delivered. I tried to flag him down for a knife because there was none on our table just forks, but was completely ignored. Food was just ok nothing special. Margarita was good at least. Perhaps stick with the appetizer menu and just order tacos if you plan to try this place.

I’ve been here two times. The first time was just at the bar and I had a great time so I decided this would be a good spot to celebrate a family birthday dinner. Dinner was outside on a Sunday evening. It was a lot less crowds then when I’ve usually walked by and we got a table on the spot. Service was so slow, drinks took forever to come, and when our entrees came it took a while to get utensils and condiments. Our main waitress didn’t really give a shit about our table. The busboys and other waitress walking by were the ones that really served us. Our steaks were expensive($ 30 each) and we’re all over cooked. Dessert was really good. However when they were brought to our table we were missing spoons. Someone had to get up and go inside and get clean spoons since our waitress was MIA. We let our waitress now we were celebrating two birthdays and asked for candles to sing happy birthday none came. The only thing that came lightening fast was our check. At $ 300 for food for three adults we expected the food and especially the service to be much better. Good cocktails at bar. Not so great dining experience.

Had the Pepito which is fries, salad, guacamole, skirt steak and Mexican cheese SOODELICIOUS! Also had a mimosa with freshly squeezed orange juice and what a difference! My friend and i really enjoyed it. The portion was just right didn’t feel like we were too stuffed to continue our Williamsburg exploration trip so all in all happy. Have outside seating and big space inside, cool for a casual brunch or group outing will return when i venture back to Brooklyn. My friend liked her steak as did I. Good experience.

No sharing plates for our appetizer. No liquor in my «sandy» cocktail(still really good, just juice though, very good juice). Only utensil where I sat was a fork. No ice in our water. Our cleared appetizer plate sat with our empty guac bowl until after we were done with our entrees. Though she was friendly our waitress looked extremely hungover and wasn’t even visible 90% of the time. Sat for 15 minutes after finishing our food only to continue waiting for her to run my card. If this were a review solely based on food, I’d easily give this place 5 stars because it was absolutely delicious but the service was possibly the worst I’ve ever experienced. The staff seems personable, maybe some extra training would do it. I don’t think I’ll be back but if the staff can step it up a bit I’m sure the place will thrive. *oh and drop the price too, I couldn’t believe the bill.

Food was ok, the drinks were better. I thought the food all tasted fine, although the octopus in the bacon-wrapped pulp«hot dog» was rather chewy. However, there was nothing that made it stand out, and I thought the prices were really high for the portion size, unless the tacos were intended to be appetizers, in which case I would just say they were expensive for apps. Also, they really need to use a slightly larger taco because the fillings kept falling out. Our server could not have been nicer. The place itself is really cute and I appreciated that it was not super loud in there even though it was pretty crowded. With all of the other dining options in the area though, I’m not sure I would be rushing back here.

Super expensive place! The plates are ridiculous, you can’t get full not even ordering 3 dishes and spending your whole salary in a mediocre meal. The food is not worth anything, not the flavor, not the portion size and not even the presentation. Never trust any of these guys places: Rosarito, Shelter and El Almacén. A total rip off each one of them. I hate when restaurants are so skim…

Always walked by this establishment when wandering Brooklyn and finally gave it a try. Boy was it a little unexpected in that it expanded two buildings. The guac was on point and super light and refreshing. As were the fish tacos, though they come with fried fish inside. The carne asada tacos were on the salty side which was not too pleasant. Other than that, the service was quick and food came out fairly quickly as well. Have to say the ambient environment both inside and out are what make this joint stand out as a Brooklyn must-eat when it comes to Mexican and Seafood.

This is specific to the tequila bar: Fernando the tequila aficionado is incredibly nice and informative about the tequila. He even allowed us to taste one we were interested in. Fun place for trying tequila, chatting with friends, etc. Definitely worth visiting!

Probably one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever witnessed. I made a reservation and they immediately sat our party down… However, it took about 20 minutes for a server to greet us — ONLY because we had to flag one down. Our server was incredibly rude. She wouldn’t make eye contact when placing our drink orders, kept looking out the window, and then proceeded to tell us, «I’m not your server, but I’ll place your drink order.» Before I could finish the word margarita, she stormed off. Pretty sure she didn’t place our drink order then either. We finally flagged down our actual server, who you could tell was brand new. Although sweet, he had no idea what he was doing. We kindly reminded him of our previous drink orders, and even decided to order our second round knowing it might take long for our first to reach us. The food was mediocre. Tiny portions of tacos with barely any flavor. Honestly, the best part about this place are the food runners… They were the only ones who really gave a shit about their job. Needless to say… I won’t be returning.
