The mushroom risotto was especially delicious. The chicken marsala, while deliciously saucy, was dry and arrived cold. The veggies and fries that came with the chicken dish were wonderful, though. The warm bread was a nice touch. The space is dimly lit and romantic. I’ve been meaning to go here for at least five years, and I’m glad that I finally made it. The staff was extremely nice and attentive, and that goes a long way. I’d definitely go back.

I never write reviews but I am literally writing this in the restaurant! This was such a lovely experience from my waiter who was prompt and polite to my meal which was delicious! I had the meatballs and their ravioli and it was splendid! Not a bad word to be said! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Will most definitely be back!

I went to Scopello few times Attending a show at Bam or just with friends, Is a long time neighbourhood place, looks like there is people going there for years and they all know each other. The friendly staff make you feel welcome and the vibe is great. The food is exellent, so good! I particularly love the Eggplants alla Parmigiana, simply the best I have tried so far, Also good pastas, my fav? bucatini alla Siciliana. for Dessert they have a traditional treat called Cassatelle and they are so good, last time I went there I ordered the day special main: whole grilled Branzino, it was great, cooked to perfection and seasoned right. I think Scopello is one of the best restaurants in New York I really do!

I love Scopello because it has such a familial/neighborhoody feel, just as an Italian spot should. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and remembers me. Awesome happy hour and delicious food. It’s a win all the way around!

Was down by Fort Green and decided to check something new. Decided on this spot because typically we cook our own Italian food. The service was prompt. We opted to sit inside because the front parlour and sidewalk sitting had too many children running around, mind you this was around ten. We ordered the meatballs which white fresh were not mind blowing. In fact I liked the spicy sauce the meatballs were in more than the meatballs themselves. The bread was hot and served with olive oil over tomatoes… We had the combo meal: steak, chicken, sausage with potato wedges. The potatoes were hard… The steak rather thin and a little on the chewy side… The chicken was flavourful, nicely prepared but also a slither of a portion hence you couldn’t get the juicy taste out of it. Bathrooms were downstairs with one stall being out of order. I wasn’t wowed and won’t be returning. I need something to make me want to come back… Too many options for to to return to mediocre food that is more towards the pricey end.

Laid back atmosphere, great service and awesome food! We had the seafood and mushroom risottos as well as the pasta puttanesca– all three a hit! We will definitely be going back! Almost forgot: the desserts were all very good but special shoutout for the pears poached in red wine.

Went last night for early dinner before The Who at Barclay’s. Very convenient to the arena. Cute outdoor space. Really lovely back room w/skylights and rustic wood tables. Service was good; menu selection really nice; and food really fresh. A little too much oil and butter on the pastas and apps but extremely tasty. Would definitely go back and probably order much lighter fare.

Summed up in one word: comfy! A really nice, airy layout(not too cramped, but not cavernous either); good service; and tasty food that’s just about worth the downtown Brooklyn prices. The bucatini with eggplant and the casatelle were both quite good. there’s a happy hour too, but it’s cash only. Plus incredibly convenient if you’re going to anything at BAM.

The food here is classic and homemade. They make most of the pasta fresh, and be sure to ask for the specials on the menu. We tried the buffalo mozzarella to start. The cheese was so fresh, and exceeded what I was expecting for sure! I had the chicken Marsala for din, and I also tried the spinach ravioli. I would definitely recommend either, and have one again when I return. The service was ok. Plus, it’s one of the few restaurants which accept credit cards in the area. Is cash only a new trend? Not into it.

SCOPELLO !!! The best restaurant in BROOKLYN !! I usually seat at the bar for a glass of wine, chatted with bartenders Chiara and Mina. When I’m hungry I ask to Fabrizio the specials of the day. Fabrizio is the owner, a funny guy from Italy. THEPASTAISAMAZING !! All the waitress are friendly. Look for a restaurant in Fort Greene or around downtown Brooklyn??? Come here !!

I once had drinks at Scopello. I sat at the bar for a glass of wine, chatted with who I believe is the owner, a nice guy from Rome, and that was it, I thought it was a nice place. I didn’t think I was ever going to actually eat there. I usually don’t go out to eat Italian, and I am very picky. I came from Italy to the US years ago, but I am still afraid to eat something that is not done the way my mom does. And then last night we went to Scopello. The food was great! Just like home, and probably even better. We had a bottle of the Primitivo from Puglia: it matched perfectly with our appetizer Polpette della nonna(meatballs) and the special Pasta all’amatriciana. Excellent! The place is nice, quiet and elegant, but not exclusive(which I would hate) in a nice neighborhood. Right close to the BAM. I totally recommend it.

The food and service was good but you can tell it’s a hit or miss restaurant. Our main server was very friendly but sometimes too friendly– he said I looked 15 instead of asking for ID for the drink I ordered(which would have been the more professional to go). He also half sat on the table next to us while taking our order. I didn’t leave with a food coma which I appreciated. I also appreciated that whoever we spoke to(e.g. bartender, server, busser) was helpful in all aspects of service versus just their assigned duties. This is a place to go when you’re passing by. Don’t go out of your way but don’t overlook it either. It’s a cute restaurant.

Food was amazing. Waitress gave it an authentic feel. We had the baked eggplant and the salmon with a few starters and wine. Everything was delicious. Including the deserts. I wish this place was on seamless!

So close to the Barclay Center, to BAM and so disappointing. Maybe they were having an ‘off night’ but the food was not particularly good and the service, even though the restaurant was half empty, was atrocious! I had gone to see the LYON Ballet at BAM, the evening was not a late one, but I should have realized there was a reason the restaurant was not busy.

Who doesn’t love Italian food? Well I know I do. This restaurant in with close walking distance and it’s one of our first choices when considering Italian. As you step in the front feels like a lil’ bar and then the back opens up to a beautiful restaurant. We’ve been a few time and the service seems to fluctuate. With hardly anyone in there it seemed we had to go out of our way to flag down our waiter. Might have been a fluke. I love the bread they bring out. Sweet! My favorite entrée is the Wild Mushroom Risotto. Ahhh. Divine.

Went here for a nice dinner the other evening. I’m a big fan of their pasta. I don’t know if they made it in house, but both the spaghetti putanesca, and the rigatoni ragu were fabulous, and cooked perfectly al dente. Drink prices are a bit steep compared to what I’m used to on the west coast, but hey, it’s NYC. For example, a dinner sized pasta entrée was $ 15, and a martini was $ 12. Strange ratio if you ask me. The service was excellent as well, they always made sure we had water, and were super friendly. 4.5 stars.

If nothing else, tuna carpaccio with fennel salad. Wow! Nice Fort Green neighborhood joint with great outdoor seating for evening people watching. The Italian proprietor is often about, and the diverse and chatty crowd is something to envy. People on the street were always stopping by to say hello to diners. Close to the train, BAM and a couple of blocks up from Barclays. I’ll be back for sure next time I am in town.

I’ve passed this restaurant millions of times(obvi exaggerating) but enough times that I should have probably had a meal here sooner. Well thankfully, I haven’t been missing out on much. My friend and I came here for an early dinner after a nice walk from my apt and a quick sweep through the Brooklyn Flea. We were pretty ravenous at this point and were pleased by so many of the non-pasta options on the menu. I opted for the Castrato Al Forno(Leg of Lamb) and my friend had the Tagliata Ai Ferri(Angus Steak). The wait was super duper long and our waiter maybe came back once to check on us. Yikes! We both felt that our meats were underseasoned and fatty but the potatoes and veggies were good: o( The interior is nice but we werepretty disappointed with the service and the food. Perhaps the pasta is good? Not sure, but will probably not come back to find out.
