RIP. This place was GREAT, I loved it and will miss it dearly.

Closed by Department of health. Hope a better establishment takes over this great, light-filled space next to the park with outdoor seating area. It has great potential, but the staff were rude and the tables and chairs(seemingly) intentionally uncomfortable.

Cash only! No exceptions. The other reviewers are right — the place is loud, busy, and the servers aren’t cheerful. They also appear to be militant about times and days you’re allowed to use your laptop. I wonder what they’d do to you if you busted out your laptop on a Sunday morning. I wonder if smart phones count as computers? Guess they don’t want people camping out. Sandwiches and salads looked good. I just got a tea. Sigh. Not a huge fan.

I didn’t have enough for a cupcake(cash only) so they gave me an extra sugar cookie for free. Absolutely delicious.

This place is incredible! Stopped by last night before a show down the street and got the Curry Cauliflower Wrap and a pumkin raisin muffin to go(I’m enjoying that right this moment!). The wrap was served super warm, prepared in less than 5 minutes, and seasoned perfectly, with a slightly sweet and smooth mango chutney on the side. MWA! And this muffin is incredible, not too sweet, nutritious and delicious. The service was great, there was ample seating both indoor and out, and the baristas were super cool guys. Very glad I stumbled upon this place and hope to check out their other options when I’m back in the area.

I really want to give this place more stars but every single time I come here I get one of the worst service in the neighborhood! I know it’s cool to act like a snobby barista especially in Brooklyn but c’mon! You are tainting the good products and experience in your establishment! The space is really great. They have that amazing outdoor seating area with the fun picnic benches and it faces 5th ave so you an people watch and soak in the rays. The inside is also very roomy, very open and comfortable. Their counter is filled with pastries, from cookies to biscotti and lemon bars. I’ve tried a bunch of them and they are always really good. Cookies are always soft and satisfying. They serve La Colombe coffee which is pretty good. Though don’t ask your barista what kind or if it’s single origin or a blend because they don’t really know and they will give you a one word answer. Barista’s here hardly acknowledge you when you go up to the counter and always look very angry. No small talk here ever and they roll their eyes when you order. But they are always so friendly with each other when they are gossiping and chatting behind the counter. This is a neighborhood joint, so you would think it would be a nice and friendly place for patrons. That snotty barista act can only last for so long and there are many fantastic coffee places in this neighborhood. Don’t lose customers because of that. It is a huge turn off. It’s unfortunate because the place is great and the food is good. Get your act together and be nice to customers! It’s embarrassing!

I used to love this place, the food is really tasty and they used to make new and interesting special sides/salads all the time – the root vegetable side was sooo delicious. But it kinda seems like they are phoning it in these days… The food is still good, but they never offer anything new or different and the place itself is getting pretty decrepit. I just really don’t enjoy being there at all between the condition of the place and the cleanliness, and the people who come there w/their children and don’t really clean up after themselves or have any consideration for anyone else eating there. Anyway, the staff are always cool and they play good music, but I don’t live very close to bother with takeout, so I don’t think I’ll be coming here anymore.

Many years ago, I used to go to Snice all the time. It was a great place to work while having tea and get a salad for lunch. I slowly stopped going because the food was inconsistent and the place was dirty. Ok, whatever. I’ll eat elsewhere. Then last year(or so) I dropped in with a friend who wanted to order lunch. I wasn’t planning on getting anything, but OMG the chocolate cupcake looked GREAT. I’m am SEVERELY allergic to egg and milk, so I was thinking, oh there’s no way I can eat that. That looks like a real cupcake. But hey, it’s a vegan restaurant, so I asked. The hipster behind the counter rolled her eyes in disgust, «Of course it’s vegan.» «No really, it’s very important. I’m very very allergic.» But she promised. So I bought the cupcake. And OMG it was amazing. Tasted just like a real cupcake made with milk and eggs. And guess what. It was. I was very ill. They are lucky I don’t die from my allergic reactions. Some else would have died. I went to Snice soon after with another friend who wanted to order something. The owner was there, so I told her what had happened. Maybe a vendor is lying to her. She should know… She could not have been more rude and dismissive. She insisted the cupcake was vegan. She treated me like I was lying. She did not apologize. She truly didn’t care. She was even more rude than her young employee. The place is dysfunctional. Rude. And dangerous for anyone with an allergy. They are selling food that’s not vegan and lying about it. Be careful.

This used to be my spot! I love the location of this s’nice. It has good outdoor seating, cool art on rotation every month, free wifi, large windows, cool music(for the most part). I tend to stick to what I know, so I usually only ordered the vegan carrot cupcakes(delicious but small and kind of pricy) and the Roasted Vegetable Panini with arugula & goat cheese($ 9.25). I may have also tried a bite of my friend’s bueno borrito(wasn’t my thing) — and my other friend’s order of the vegan panini. Oh, and I tried a sip of the milk shake that one of my friends got. It was good but too calorific. I always went back to my favorite roasted veggie panini. The reasons I stopped going here — * I learned that the grilled veggies that was being advertised on the menu was actually microwaved. I learned this when I visited another location and saw them make the dish in front of me instead of in the back, as they do in the brooklyn location. Well, I don’t microwave my food at home and so that turned me off. * Also, I was getting annoyed that the roasted veggie panini was inconsistent in taste. There was one chef/cook who made it just right, generously using all the ingredients; but then sometimes I’d get a chef who skimped on the cheese and made the sandwich taste really dry. It got so bad that I would go in, specifically request the cook I knew to be good and if he wasn’t there, I’d bail. One day I learned my favorite chef/cook had either quit or been fired, so that made the decision to stop going to s’nice easier. * On certain days at certain times it gets very crowded with moms and their huge strollers and loud children. You can’t use your laptop these times because of the crowd. You also can barely squeeze past the chairs to get to the counter. No bueno. * Parking sucks really hard * Finally, the servers here are not so friendly. They always seem like they don’t want to be there. I’ve brought lots of friends here and would sometimes conduct business meetings in the café since it had a nice ambience and, of course, I’d get to eat my tasty sandwich. One time I brought a client in and one of the servers made me feel pretty uncomfortable about it — Too many strikes — y’er out!

I had a hot chocolate. Seems like they put a lot of effort into it. The atmosphere is quaint and has a relaxing feel to it. They have some rule about no computers during certain times which is a bit odd, but good thing no mention of tablets on there so I’m good. Just had a sip of the hot chocolate that was really good!

the coffee is reasonable you can go for vegan watching if you’re really bored. it’s like watching grass grow the people that work there seem really depressed and condescending the place should be called ‘Smean

I am no vegan… but I was plenty happy with my lunch here last week. I was having my car serviced at Pep Boys down on 4th avenue and looked through Unilocal to find a local café/lunch spot. This place came up(only about 1.5 blocks away) and I couldn’t have been happier. It was a beautiful afternoon, so I opted to sit out side. I ordered an iced tea(of which they had 4 varieties — yay team!) and a brie and pear panini. It came with a side of mixed greens and it was perfectly grilled — the brie soft and melty and the bread not to hard to bite through. I stayed at the café for almost 2 hours with no hassle from the staff about overstaying my welcome. Families came and went from outside, and it was nice to sit on the corner and just enjoy the afternoon while reading my book and munching my sandwich. Again, I am no vegan, I’m not even a vegetarian, but I was extremely satisfied with their menu options as I think most would be. I’ll be back the next time I’m in that area.

Man, I love ‘Snice. Leaving«Snice behind was one of the biggest bummers about leaving Park Slope. Their vegan meatball sub was my absolute favorite thing to order and their chocolate chip banana muffins are wonderful. Only negative is that the employees are completely aloof and generally unimpressed with life.

It’s nice to eat vegetarian once in a while. Came here on a beautiful day because they have a great outdoor seating area. Dogs are allowed only outside the fence but they had water and dog treats(for only 75 cents) that my dog loved. Had the fontina panini and it was delicious. Added«chicken» for $ 1 for extra protein.

This may be a great place for a vegan. I however can only just deal with it because I dislike not having the option of a meat choice. Ok fine… they have fake chicken but still. I’m a tofu lover but no one can do tofu like the Asians(me). I would have been more into my quinoa salad if there had been more flavor in it. I don’t taste anything! The avocado was nice and it tasted healthy. I guess that’s the point… but for someone who lives on fries… The coffee however is good and so are the breakfast options. Watch out… I almost got solicited into being a «bust model» by a «sculptors apprentice». Park slope… full of characters.

This is my go to spot when I want a healthy and filling meal, as well as a place to unwind and relax. I’m not even a vegetarian but s’Nice knows how to make me want to become a vegetarian and appreciate the things we carnivores don’t usually. My favorite sandwiches: — Brie pear & arugula sandwich with raspberry mustard — Curried cauliflower wrap with chickpeas, brown rice and mango chutney — Roasted vegetable panini with arugula and goat cheese And, keep in mind each sandwich comes with a side of mixed greens salad! For $ 8.75, that’s a great deal! I’ve also tried the quinoa salad with black beans and corn tortilla chips which is also good but not as filling as the sandwiches. I always have my meal with an iced chai during the summery days or a chai tea latte. What’s great about this location in Park Slope(unlike the Manhattan locations) is that there is outdoor seating, perfect for those summery days when all you want to do is relax, have your lunch and drink. There are plenty of benches too so you should be able to get a seat.

Walking on 5th in Park Slope on Friday March 9. Hungry for dinner. Looks like we have a number of good options. We happen upon ‘Snice which my wife and I remembered from when we looked up «Vegan» in «Gowanus.» Thanks Unilocal! We started with a gingerbread cookie as we waited. Really good cookie. As good as any non-Vegan gingerbread cookie. My wife and I split the Quinoa salad and the Vegan Tempeh Ruben. The quinoa salad had a very light avocado dressing and tasted really good. The Vegan Ruben was really good. One note of caution: it has Daiya Vegan cheese. The cheese has a good taste but to get it to melt, you have to get it really hot. So the sandwich was really hot and needs to be opened to cool off for a minute. Besides that, it was really good. The tempeh was pleasant, there was sauerkraut and the cheese is quite tasty. I would be really happy with a return trip to ‘Snice.
