I hate it when I’m right-closed. I really liked the sandwiches but maybe this was just the right sandwich at the wrong time?

Three and a half stars. Bad economy or not, the $ 5 lunch special going up to $ 6 — and then $ 7 — within the course of a couple months is kind of stupid. What is that, a 40% increase? Really, guys? You miscalculated that badly initially? The sandwiches are good, but when there are so many other good cheap(er) lunch options on the street, it’s sort of silly how proud they are of the tiny things.

Do you love things that come in individualized mini-portions like I do? If so go immediately to Reis 100 and try one of the tiny sandwich delights! Oh man yes… you have to do it… because as I am typing it, I feel the urge to have one too. I had apple with brie and honey… wow knocked my socks right off… mouth was watering… yummm… In fact it was so good I can’t think of the other kind I tired! Anyhow when all is said and done my friend and I enjoyed every last morsel we ate and I will certainly be back for more.

I love this place!!! The menu has a wide variety, the food is great. Yes, the sandwiches are«mini» but that is what makes it great. You get to eat several different items. My favorite is the hot dog with saurkraut(sp?), mustard, and carmalized onions. Also the artichoke spread with argula and black olive tapenade, brie with truffled mushrooms, BLT,… I could just keep going. The staff is great as well and if you head to Bar Reis next door you can order the sandwiches there and the wait staff will bring it over for you. Why haven’t you gone yet?

all i have to say is — grilled cheese with bacon and sauteed onions. basically my wet dream in a sandwich. when i first visited i was thinking that this was a banh-mi style, bargain basement sandwich place. gourmet sammies for 3.50 — dang, that’s cheap… until i discovered that unlike the sizable banh mi baguettes, these sandwiches were the size of dinner rolls. that said, if you go for the 6 $ for 2 sandwiches and a soda deal, you’ll probably be full. i was quite pleased with prosciutto /goat cheese /roasted red pepper, prosciutto /artichoke spread /carmelized onions, and of course — the aforementioned grilled cheese. looking forward to trying heather d’s hot dog banh mi, as well as some of the«jams and chocolates» — ie mango jalepeno jam and cream cheese. in a nutshell, this is a good place for stoners.

The sandwiches are very good. You can tell the ingredients are nice and fresh. But seriously, $ 5 for a tiny bit of chorizo on a little baby roll?

Was delicious and divine when they first opened about 2 months ago. I couldn’t stop raving. Now, however, not as good. The sandwiches were so tiny and pricey, but they were so tasty with all of the yummy fillings. Now, all of a sudden, they have cut way back on the amount of filling per teeny-tiny sandwich, so you mostly just taste bread. And, on top of giving less, they have raised the price of the lunch special from $ 5 to $ 6. I believe that’s a 20% increase! I don’t need to waste $ 6 on a small cup of RC cola and 2 dinner rolls with barely a smudge of flavor. I hope they go back to they way they were for the first few weeks of business. I will really miss those lovely sandwiches, ’cause I’m not going back.

These guys are okay. I had a couple of sandwiches, a bacon with a fried quail egg on white, and a hot on white. It was a mixed bag really. The mini-hero bread is actually quite tasty. It has a chewy crispy top as well as a firm interior and is pretty flavorful. I would say the fillings of the sandwiches need work. Just put more in ‘em. Condiments such as pickled beets and aoili mayo make the sandwiches stick out somewhat but you get the feeling that the bread and condiments are making up for lack of the main ingredients. It is top quality ingredients you’re getting but they do need to work out the balance between meat and bun better.

Have to agree with the earlier review — taste is awesome, portion — not so much. Not sure if I’d go back based on how disappointed I was when I opened the bag. The one sandwich I had(why they didn’t tell me it was small and I should order two or three I don’t know) was really good but I was still starving when I finished it. And considering there are cheaper alternatives in the neighborhood, I’ll definitely second think it before going back. Bummer because I did really like it.

As far as taste goes… oh me oh my! Duck pâté, mango jalapeño jam w/pickled onions?! Chicken BLT w/avocado?! Salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion?! I salivated into a foaming frenzy. But portions made me want to cry. We opened the paper bag and found 3 depressingly tiny baguettes(barely bigger than a hot dog bun) filled with amazing scrumptious fillings. For $ 12, it’s a pricey treat. My jury’s out on whether they’re «worth it.» As long as your expectations are right, give Reis 100 a try, just don’t expect a meal out of it. PS — Note that they’re only open from 7pm onwards!

This sandwich shop is such a great addition to the area. The owner, Reis, also owns the bar next door, so he serves sandwiches until 2am to hungry bar patrons. The grilled cheese with jalapeño is absolutely to die for! So are any of the ones with housemade jam. For late night dining on 5th ave, this is definitely your best choice!
