It’s been awhile since I’ve had such a bad meal. Teriyaki Shack is a tiny place with one counter to sit at and a kitchen that takes up more than half the restaurant. It’s not a good looking restaurant, but it doesn’t try to be and by my taste, doesn’t have to be. Service was fine. It’s counter service and the staff were friendly enough. My problem with the place is that the food was straight up bad and wasn’t even that cheap. I got the sesame chicken entrée which comes with a side; I chose lo mein noodles. The food came out in about 8 minutes or so. The chicken looked nothing like the image on the menu or like any chicken dish I’ve had before. Each piece was practically a ball. And in each ball was some dark meat chicken and some unidentifiable mush that I think must be filler made from who knows what. It was all flavorless except for the sauce on it, that tasted almost flavorless, but a little sweet. There were also vegetables in the container, but there were so few, they might as well not have even added them: literally one tiny piece of broccoli and a little lettuce. The lo mein was the best part and even that was subpar. I paid over $ 8 for this and I could only eat about half because I didn’t want to have simply thrown away my money. In conclusion, can’t be the worst place a person could eat at, but buyer beware.

The one word I can think of to describe their homemade iced tea is ‘delightful,’ it’s just the right amount of sweet that it tickles but doesn’t over power your palate. I strongly recommend the teriyaki chicken burrito it’s delicious as well as quite fat. Since I’m a hospital employee I get the drink for free so I highly recommend this place if you are too.

I like the super speedy service. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with brown rice. And it took less than 5 mins. Hmmmm chicken is reheated and veggie is raw but it’s ok. I will come again.

It’s basically mall teriyaki but they are fast and delicious. I usually get just veggies and chicken, I like a lot of vegetables but sometimes they are greasy which I don’t like. The chicken and shrimp was not as good, the shrimp is over cooked.

I was intrigued by the Teriyaki burrito, but in the end, I didn’t want to try it. I just got the Teriyaki combo. It’s as several people mentioned; it is mall teriyaki chicken. It’s not the best culinary experience that you will have, but it tastes delicious when you are really hungry. So it’s ok for the price, I believe it was $ 6.50. I’m sure it’s possible to find a comparable meal for cheaper elsewhere. My husband got California roll of 8 pieces for $ 5.75. Tasted pretty decent, you can get it and won’t be disappointed if you are really craving sushi.

A nice little fast take home spot for me. The fried squid is excellent also the shrimp & beef was great, served with cabbage, carrots & mixed vegetables. The rice lightly seasoned & teriyaki chicken is a favorite. I love sushi but not a fan of there’s. What they do is grind up the fresh tuna into a paste like substance and roll it up with the rice & other mixture. The shrimp was barely visible. I am used to REAL sushi. All other food is plentiful and tasty. A small counter area with high seats are for the in house dining pleasure. I go once in a while.

Chinese food and mexican– has to be gross right? NOPE– It’s really good! You’re probably thinking– how can I trust someone who ordered mexican and chinese from the same place, but I thought the same and was fully prepared to chuck it and order something else– but I didn’t have to and I was really impressed by how well they did both. Ordered a 2 filling burrito and dumplings-my bf got a chinese dish and we both really enjoyed everything.

Very Good and extremely fast service. They don’t only offer teriyaki chicken and shrimp, they have curry chicken and a good combination of vegetables as well. I lifeguard only a block away and I’m here frequently. The best part about it is literally it takes 5 minutes to get your food and be gone. Can’t beat that :-)

I agree with everyone else’s opinion. This is pretty much mall Teriyaki I like how they don’t OD on the sauce They give great portions, and you get a lot for a small price. Food is incredibly fast, literally minutes, even seconds from order to plate

There is no way I can give a good review to a place that doesn’t offer free water. It is the LAW to serve people a cup of water when requested; however, they refused to give me any water so I had to purchase a gingerale for $ 1. Their price is pretty expensive too considering how easy a bowl of terriyaki sauce covered rice and meat is. Their store is extremely hot and I’ve been waiting quite a while now for my terriyaki orange chicken to be made, giving me time to write this review on how they aren’t giving FREEWATER. Maybe this is common practice in Brooklyn(as I’m not a local I’m not sure), but this needs to change. As far as orange chicken goes they are good. Meat tastes fresh

I Love this place. I go to the high school near by and I try to get the chicken teriyaki here as much as possible. The first time I tried it I fell in love, I have not tasted anything better than that ever since. I only tried the chicken teriyaki so i’m not sure about the other dishes but i’m pretty sure it’s good. I love eating the teriyaki with hot sauce, I guess it just adds more flavor to it but it has enough flavor itself. The portions are great, I get very full after eating. Overall this place has the best teriyaki around. P.S The place is small so it will be hard for big groups but I suggest everyone to try the teriyaki there, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

If you’ve been to just about any shopping mall ever, and have tried Sarku Japan in the food court then you can imagine what Teriyaki Shack tastes. The only difference in my opinion is that Teriyaki Shack has better veggies. Teriyaki Shack is small and you can easily walk right by it without even knowing. There isn’t much seating inside. Maybe enough for five people on stools along the wall. I got the chicken and shrimp combo with brown rice. Had I known I was going to be charged 75cents for brown rice instead of white I would have just stuck with white. The combo came out to about $ 8.50 and it made for a solid meal. The fact that I was able to get two different meats over rice with veggies for $ 8 and change was awesome. Teriyaki Shack isn’t anything special as far as the food goes but if you want a meal that will fill you up while eating on the cheap it’s hard to beat this place. I’d definitely be back if i was in the area and was just looking to grab some grub just to fill up on.

After eating Deli sandwiches and Chinese take out for 2 months at my new job, I am so glad to find this Teriyaki place. I had the chicken teriyai with veggie. The meat was fresh and juicy. The portion was generous for the price they charged. I was suprised to find this hidden gem in the neigborhood. I am satisfied and will definitely post up their menu right next to my computer.

I’d agree with previous reviewers, this place gets the job done. Cheap, quick, filling, fresh. I had the chicken/shrimp combo with fried rice and veggies. All passed the test, even by my pretty-easy-to-get-grossed-out standards. As others said, ask for extra teriyaki sauce if you prefer more flavorful and saucy food.

I think the other reviewers below who dont even have a profile pic, or very few reviews are actually other business owners who feel competition in the neighborhood. That being said, this place is always a solid place for dinner. The chicken is all white meat and not nasty at all, everything is fresh made, I watch them take fresh raw chicken, cook it, put teriyaki sauce on it and complete my meal. The place has little seating, so take your food on the go. I’ve had the beef, and the chicken, but prefer the chicken. They give you a lot for the $ 7 and you can get extra meat. I always get the lo main instead of the rice, and ask for no veggies because I dont like the ones they give you(carrots, celery and something else), Check it out for a late night or quick take out bite and you will not be disappointed!

Pretty darn good teryaki chicken! Not thick and over salted like other fast food joints I’ve been to. If you’re hungry or craving something savory this is the place to go!

I stopped in here one night after climbing at Brooklyn Boulders to grab a quick bite to eat. I’ve read some of the reviews on here, which made me very skeptical on coming here at all. First, this place is NOT a fancy 5-star restaurant or even close to it for that matter. It’s a place to grab a quick bite for a very very reasonable price. So I decided to go against the other reviews and give this place a shot! Second, with that said, I found the establishment very clean and tidy. It appears that they only opened about a month ago. The employees there were friendly and very accommodating with answers to my questions. I ordered the beef and shrimp teriyaki while my g/f ordered the chicken teriyaki(which seems to be their featured dish). Both dishes came with the choice of white, brown, or fried rice. The steamed vegetables included cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and broccoli. They didn’t drown the meat in sauce like how some other reviewer stated. They cook the meat with some sauce, then ask you politely if you would like extra. I thought the overall taste of the food was great. For a late night meal(they’re open til 10pm!!) or a quick bite to eat, I would highly recommend Teriyaki Shack to fulfill those needs. The food there is delicious and I would definitely go back!
