I loved the food and the location. Sorry to hear it closed

Went here for the brunch because of recommendations online. The food was okay, but there were unlimited mimosas. They are usually packed for brunch, therefore there is usually a log wait to sit and get served. But if you have the time to enjoy the outdoors and a leisurely brunch, then it’s worth a try.

I left Prospect Heights nearly three years ago, and one thing I’ve really missed is The Spot. I wanted to get as close as I could, looking at the delicious menu, and reading reviews, and just discovered that it has closed. I am so bummed. This was one of the first great little boites in the neighborhood during its Renaissance, when there was nothing but Chinese, fried chicken, and pizza joints. Plus, they delivered! My favorite was the grilled salmon with a lobster sauce, amazing garlic mashed potatoes, a veggie side, and delicious bread. For the neighborhood, this was a big sign that things had finally turned that corner. So, I was very loyal, and loved supporting them. I hope that they are able to re-open at some time. I never had a bad dish from here.

Despite the 1.5 hr wait the mimosas were lovely! I ordered the stuffed french toast with a cream cheese filling and fresh strawberries.devine. A tad noisy but a very cool vibe.

Pretty bad. Service was fine the coffee was good. Prices VERY reasonable. Food was absolutely horrible and the unlimited mimosa’s consisted of flat champaign in huge glasses with ice. I’ll never go back

First time trying out The Spot. Small brunch place. CASHONLY. Try to get there early or be prepared to wait because seating is limited and with unlimited mimosas people are not leaving soon. Service is SUPER slow. Food takes a while to come out so indulge on the watered down mimosas until your food arrives. I ordered an omlette. Was good. Nothing spectacular. Probably should have tried the pancakes. Overall it’s a decent spot. I do not plan on giving it another try though.

I’m going to preface this review with I really like the food here. I’ve been coming here once in awhile for about 3 years now and the steak & eggs, omelettes, home fries, and pancakes have never disappointed me. Now let’s get to the service… Me and my guest came in around 2pm on a Sunday. Of course we expected it to be busy but surprisingly, we were seated right away. However, our table was unbelievable shaky. Not even the base of the table, it was like the actual table top was loose. So I couldn’t imagine putting a drink, let alone food on it. When the hostess saw our concern, she apologized for it but said that it would be at least another 20 minutes before our food came. So we decided to just stick it out and stay there. A few minutes later, a young lady came & dropped down 2 waters for us. No introduction, she was just like a quick blur. I almost didn’t realize where the waters came from. By now, a table freed up and the hostess was kind enough to move us. It still took another 10 minutes for our waitress to come over n take our order. I ordered an omelette with turkey bacon, cheddar, and spinach. The food came relatively fast, in about 10 minutes. When I reached the middle of my omelette where most of the filling was, I realized that it had ham in it instead of the turkey bacon I ordered. This wasn’t a huge deal for me because I eat pork, I don’t discriminate. So I just ate it. However, if I was someone who didn’t eat pork I would’ve been highly upset. The waitress never came back to see how we were, and I had to flag her down to refill my empty water cup. Of course she forgot, and I ended up asking the hostess who filled me up right away. There was also a fly/gnat problem, which I don’t feel the need to go into much detail about, but a lot of my time was spent shooing them away with my hands. The only reason The Spot gets 3 stars from me is because the food is yummy, and you can’t really beat $ 14.95 for unlimited mimosas and entrée. They do have a lot to work on when it comes to service and flies. Get it together!

Sunday brunch at The Spot. Banana pancakes were delicious. Soft, golden brown and crispy around the edges with the bananas beat into the batter instead of sliced and dumped on top as an afterthought. My pork sausage links were basic. Girlfriend’s steak and eggs looked great but she says her steak was undercooked. Note: Waitress never asked her how she wanted her steak prepared. My friend also mentioned that her home fries were pretty blah. Hey, her plate looked as pretty as a picture anyway. Unlimited mimosa’s packed very little punch. Needed almost a whole pitcher to myself to get a good brunch buzz. The music was borderline tired-Isley Bruhs, Smokey, Bootsy zzz… Cute little, «right on the corner» place though. Walking distance from my house on a beautiful day like today was. Very pleasant waitresses. I’ll give The Spot another go… soon!

After a fun girls’ weekend we wanted to end our trip with a nice brunch. Through some intense Google searching we found and decided on The Spot. Excited, due to great reviews and appearance on several«top brunch» lists, we entered with hopeful minds. After the first 5 minutes of sitting down we were ready to just pay for the 3(awfully made) mimosas we had sipped from and find another restaurant. The waitress was rude, pushy, and got an attitude with us after she had come to our table 3 times in 5 minutes requesting our orders.(I would have understood if the restaurant was packed but more than half the tables were empty and no line was outside). After placing our orders she didn’t return until 25 minutes latet when our food was ready — no checking in on how we were doing with our drinks or anything. The food was decent but service was awful(guess that’s why they include an 18% tip on all bills because they probably wouldn’t make tips otherwise). Will NEVER return here!

My favorite brunch place in Brooklyn, in NYC, and probably in the world!!! I lived down the block a couple summers ago and fell in love with this place. A cute local family-owned«spot» with trendy, friendly servers. Their big special is $ 15 entrée + bottomless mimosas on weekends. Amazing deal! In terms of brunch entrees, the steak sandwich and steak & eggs are impeccable! Among the best I’ve ever had – they really know how to make steak. I’ve tried the eggs benedict and that’s on point as well. Went for dinner once and had the chicken marsala which had a very yummy sauce and was nice and crispy. Also very reasonably priced. I live in LA now but whenever I go back to NYC I always most look forward to returning to The Spot!

Good prices, good food, good service. $ 15 for an entrée and unlimited mimosas. The steak and eggs were flavorful and the portions were great for the price. I didn’t have to flag the waitress continuously for refills, she was super attentive. And they played the new Beyonce album from start to finish. What’s not to love? «Yay! I’m a fan.»

$ 15 for an entrée and all you can drink mimosas is a pretty good deal but not good enough for me to ever return. I showed up with about 4 other people around 2pm. We were sat in around half an hour which wasn’t too bad. The restaurant was quite hot and the door was open so it was a bit uncomfortable on a sunny July day. From the start service was slow but it became absolutely atrocious. The waitress clearly couldn’t remember our order and had to go back through it before she left, already a bad sign. Why she didn’t write it down I don’t know but she clearly had trouble remembering 5 entrees. 4 of us went with the $ 15 special, 3 of us asked for coffees as well and all of us asked for water. We got our mimosas but no coffee or water. I finished my mimosa in less than a minute, it was about 50% ice, 45% Sunny D and 5% champagne. It took at least 10 minutes to have my cup refilled. After about 15 minutes the waitress came back and went through our order again. Both my girlfriend and I initially ordered the steak panini, whether she said panini or sandwich when she came back I’m not sure. She put in our order at that time, why she hadn’t put it in when she first took it I don’t know. It was almost half an hour before my glass was refilled again, and still we had no coffees. Finally another waitress saw out empty glasses and lack of water and brought us some. The food finally came out and it was wrong, we received steak sandwiches instead of paninis. I told the waitress who brought the food that there was an issue and she took it back. The waitress who had taken our order came over and said she definitely said sandwiches the second time like it was somehow our fault even though she had forgotten our order and then repeated it back wrong. She must have said it 3 or 4 times until I finally stopped her and let he know that she may have said sandwich but we had ordered the paninis and that’s what we wanted. I’m not sure if there was a miscommunication but another waitress brought the same sandwiches to us which we turned down again. Our waitress actually calmed down a bit after that as the crowd died down. We finally received our coffees and the refills were a lot quicker. She charged us only for an entrée for 3 of our meals which was a nice gesture but too little too late. It was almost another 45 minutes before our paninis showed up, instead of expediting she had put the ticket in behind all the other tables. The other 3 people had completely finished their meals and were wanting to go by the time we actually saw out food. The food wasn’t that bad and if the service hadn’t been so terrible I would have considered going back. The fries were nicely cooked and seasoned, I had also snacked on some home fries while we were waiting and they were good as well. The panini was a good size and had a lot of meat, flavor wise there wasn’t too much happening but it was good overall. What it comes down to is this is a decent inexpensive restaurant that is killed by it’s inconsistent service. 2 of my friends had been there multiple times and enjoyed it but now will never go there again. It seems like they either need a bigger kitchen and more waitresses or less tables.

I love this place so much! The staff if friendly, the drinks are nice and the food is PHENOMENAL! I first ordered delivery from here a long time ago and have always ordered since! I’ve only just started going to the restaurant last year and have loved my experience every time! It is what it is for a neighborhood spot. Sometimes they mess up but they always make up for it.

It was aiight. I was disappointed when I turned away from Washington Ave. to find that this place looked less nice than some of the other joints around. But I had heard tales of peanut butter pancakes, so a Spottin’ I went. Can’t front that I was totally in for bottomless brunch. Sadly the mimosas were pretty weak, and the pancakes weren’t filled with peanut butter like some websites claimed. Nope, just l’il peanut butter chips. I has a sad. That said, they sure were some of the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever had.

This place is cash only so beware. Their is a ATM across the street though that cost $ 1.75. Tip is also included in a party of two which is kind of ridiculous but it’s a buisness. The food was alright but the mimosas refills took a little time and not really that strong.

A friend and I had breakfast ordered for delivery today and it was great! I had the salmon omelet which came with a salad and potatoes wedges, and my friend had the bacon cheese burger deluxe which was delicious! The two meals plus two drinks came to 20 dollars and change which I thought was a great price. Only thing is they’re cash only but I had no issues with them. They said it would be 45 minutes, but it was less(I know that trick with that, but I’m okay with it!).

After being slammed with the news that my older sister has cancer again and a 3.5 mile run which is pathetic because normally I usually do 5 – 6 a day. But hey, priorities, folks. I decided what better way to spend Saturday afternoon before the big MSU game than with enormous over sized glasses(pitchers) of mimosa or champagne, totally your choice, at this little hole in the wall. Apparently, its a popular spot and people have to wait in line to sit down and drink their way through $ 15 worth of unlimited booze and a meal. But on this day, that was not the case. Zero wait. Immediate mimosa in my glum little hands. Service was excellent as well. They kept those glasses flowing long after I finished my meal. I ordered the vegetable panini, roasted sweet peppers, mushrooms and your choice of cheese(goat!) with a side of fries or salad. Obviously I went for the carbs. The french fries are both crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect amount of seasonings. I think I may be in love with this place. It’s not incredibly special. I probably would not order the raw salmon or eggs benedict here ever but the sandwich on what looked like a gyro pita was great. Also, Z loved her hamburger. She also loved that after we saw other people doing it, that we could take our last mimosa in to-go-cups. Shut the front door! Nothing quite cheers up a Bingy than getting a styrofoam cup filled with champs to take off with in merriment. I would like to note that this is cash only. Also, they serve a pancake bar that I am going to be back for one day. You can pick out whatever toppings you like! Like peanut butter! Blueberries! Chocolate chips! Excitement. Flails arms.

Great experience. This was my 2nd time here for Brunch and the French Toast was amazing, just as it was the last time. The customer service was great as well; they were attentive to us and kept refilling our unlimited mimosas without us asking. Oh and by the way, if you’re tired of the mimosas, you can switch to unlimited tea or coffee without an extra fee. That made my day. This place has a cool ambiance, I’d definitely like to visit during night time to try the dinner menu.

Such a long wait! Brunch was just okay. My friends and I waited for about an hour way past brunch hour. We decided to sit by the bar to wait, and the servers just ignored us the entire time while they were busy serving other diners. We had to remind them that we were waiting to be seated. The food was okay, but nothing to rave about. I had the customized omelette, and it was just okay.
