Cool, laid back bar. Met with some friends there and me being late, had just missed the happy hour that ends at 8pm. But was not crowded and we were actually able to have a conversation without yelling. Especially for a Friday night, it was a good atmosphere. There’s no food, but there’s a couple good restaurants right on the same block that you can bring in.

One of my favorite bars in the area. Good beer selection, fun movies on, good outdoor space for the warm months. Staff is friendly and very low key.

I don’t really have anything bad to say about this place. The staff has always been friendly, they’ve got a decent selection of beers. Solid neighborhood spot! It’s a great date location and in the summer has a pretty nice backyard for sipping with friends. Thumbs up! Stop by if you’re in the hood ;)

Great Bar to just sit and relax and have a drink amongst good company. The bartender Devin provided excellent service and was very courteous. If your ever in that part of town please do stop in and have a drink. Now I wish the story could end right there but unfortunately it doesnt. As I mentioned Devin Provided great service but unlike him there was another bartender by the name of Marissa and her service was poor. I’m surprised she has a job at all, she was simply rude and treated me with nothing but disrespect. She should learn how to treat people who patronize a business. I strongly advise that you do not give her your business because she is unworthy and ungrateful to say the least.

Old wooden tables and paneling give this place a classic pub feel. The draft selection is small-ish(6 – 8) but solid. Definitely feels like a place you can bring guests to or just come chill by yourself and chat with your bar neighbor.

This is definitely one of my favorite places! They have a wonderful happy hour and amazing liquor selection. Staff is always friendly even when the place is super duper packed, which is often. But don’t worry, a packed spot is a good thing because that just means that they’re loved. I used to only come late night and it’s BYOF so I’ve had quite a few interesting nights here. But once I found out about the happy hour, I began visiting a bit earlier. Although it may get a little loud when the place is packed, it’s a great atmosphere especially for groups. It is a bar, so what do you expect? I wouldn’t expect ppl whispering lol and if they are, they probably aren’t having fun. Come thru and see for yourself!

The outdoor seating is wonderful. I went here on a summer/fall day, and the people were great, and the bartenders were nice. Their happy hour is a good deal as well.

EVERYTIME I’ve been here I’ve been slapped in the face by a wall of stink. Jesus. It smells like something died in this place and I feel compelled to say something. I took a date here and the stench was so overbearing she suggested we go elsewhere. Just rancid. Otherwise, a sticky bar with perpetually out-of-date menus(«we actually switched that one out… and that one, too») and moderately cold beer. Two stars for great lighting, though.

Hung out there with a friend one chill weekday afternoon. They have great, affordable drinks. We stayed mainly in the backyard and really enjoyed it!

Great neighborhood beer garden in nice weather. The tables out back are such a relaxed place to have some evening drinks, though the patio does close around 9 pm, so get there early! They also let you bring food in since they don’t have a kitchen. A go-to for outdoor drinks.

This place smells terrible inside for whatever reason! Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the bar tenders are really cool. Outside patio is nice, but the seating is rather uncomfortable and the tables are falling apart. It can get incredibly loud inside, as well, but the upside is that you can watch great movies by the bar, which I would actually come back for, but definitely not for the smells!

The outdoor space is great in the warm months, but for the rest of the year the bar is just too loud and crowded to be enjoyable. Really hard to hold a conversation. The beer selection is just acceptable if you’re looking for choices on tap. There are some decent bottles to be had, but those choices obviously change less frequently. All in all, a decent neighborhood spot but nothing to go out of your way for.

Eccentric but social little bar. Walked in on an ugly sweater party, so we were worried that we weren’t going to be hipster enough to drink here. Instead, the bartenders were all friendly to us despite our beautiful sweaters, and we had a great time chatting up the nosy patrons around us(who asked and passed judgment on all our travel plans… really?). Fun place to end a night, and I’m sure it would have been wonderful in warmer weather to sit in the garden.

This is one of those Brooklyn bars that looks great from the outside but sucks inside. I’ve been a few times and the service is poor and mostly rude. As in, ‘refusing to mix a basic mixed drink’ rude, which was a first for me. For parents of babies out there looking for a good 4 pm hangout spot, I strongly recommend against. We went in there with a nine month old and the bartender saw us and doubled the volume on the stereo. Classy! I get it, you don’t want a baby in your bar. 8 pm, fine. 4 pm, you’re turning away much needed business. Go to bearded lady or any of the other great bars on washington or Franklin — this one isn’t worth your time.

I’m sorry, but I have to take away a star. This place is great, and it’s BYOF. Bring your own food, but that’s been the case for the outside. As long as they let people do that in the indoors part I’ll have issues. Smells like Bigfoot’s Dick up in here. Read my previous review, place is good. However, I can’t support them ask long as they allow such disgustingness.

I have loved this place from day one(when I lived nearby) and still love to pop in whenever I’m in the area(usually before/after Target First Saturdays at the Bk Museum). Whether it’s sitting inside on a cold evening or enjoying the beer garden in the back during the summer time, you’re always in for a good time with a tasty beer in hand. Service can be a little slow when it’s busy but that’s a given for any place really. They don’t serve food here but allow you to bring in or have something delivered. This bar is only a few blocks from the best West Caribbean food ever(The Islands) so it’s a blessing in disguise that this spot doesn’t do food. Make this your go-to bar when you’re in Prospect Heights/Crown Heights!

I’ve been to Washington Commons a couple of times and really love it. Friendly bartenders and great selection of craft beer, I can’t ask for more! They have good happy hour deals, too. The layout of the bar is an interesting shape which makes it feel smaller and more intimate. There are some tables up some stairs in the back. When I was here with a big group one night it was hard for us all to find the space to stand together. The bar has a bit of a hipster vibe but the people working there seem laid back. I would definitely recommend this bar if you’re looking for a good place in the neighborhood!

I’m not sure why I am giving this only 4 stars; I really so like this place. A lot. I love their happy hour M — F until 8PM that takes $ 2.00 off any drink. I love the chill atmosphere and attentive bar staff — I love how they let you order food right to the place since they serve none. I love the mix of classic rock and chill music through the stereo. I love the impressive beer list. It’s located in prospect heights alongside some formidable bars, but this is the one I return to when visiting my wild-monkey dance instructor in the area for a laundry party; there is a nearby 24 hour laundry mat. There is no laundry in the bar. Although I’ve never been looking to hook up in here, I wouldn’t say it’s the quintessential meet-market. It’s usually a lot of guys, and girls with their boyfriends, but with the right attitude I’m sure you could work some magic, and I don’t even know you.

They party so hard that they blew a fuse. No, really, that actually happened. But before that(and before it got painfully warm due to lack of air circulation), we were having a good time. They have a pretty, pretty, pretty good beer selection(at least 15 beers on tap and more in bottles). They also have a respectable liquor collection, though I did not dabble. Bartenders are also cool and nice. Not much to complain about, except for the large crowds and the power going out.
