Been going to Barry’s for years. This place is home away from home. The bartenders feel like old friends and really take the time to get to know their patrons. Great selection of booze and craft beer. Thursday, Saturday(nights) and Packer Sundays are favorable, but it’s always a great time.

Came here on Friday for some casual drinks with a friend. Though I usually always get the same thing(tequila soda) the cocktail menu looked so great we decided to just get crazy and order cocktails. I got the most incredible beet cocktail with jalapeño, I was at first initially sceptical but thought the colour was so pretty decided to order it anyways. The best decision I made, was a perfect balance of flavours and alcohol, too boot the girl bar tending was sweet, fast, and super helpful with all our questions about the cocktails. Will definitely be back for that beet cocktail!

This is a solid bar and anyone I’ve ever taken here loves it. The staff is uniformly great, the drink options are always fresh and spot on, and the location is great. It’s also a relaxed vibe and good for capping a day of work.

Went here three years ago during Sandy and had a pretty bad Dark’n’Stormy. Came back a few weeks ago and had some pretty decent drinks. They have a bit of a game center in the back — meaning throwing darts and all sorts of other stuff. If you’re into dive bars, this is the place to be. It’s actually way better than that and it gets super crowded on the weekends or certain nights when the Barclay’s Center is hosting an event. Good for them! I’d love to see you succeed, bar owners!

Excellent beer selection, always something new, and a really nice staff. My favorite neighborhood spot(that still feels like a neighborhood spot). Small but nice patio space.

An honest effort. Like a relationship that will never take off. In the end, a lesson learned. Uncle Barry’s offers a nice presentation, but the service is sub-par and not worth your time. There are much better choices in the neighborhood and less of a waste of time. Try 4th ave. Pub by St. Marks on 4th or McMahon’s on 5th. We see them when its not just BS for event. Which is what a lot of the new places do.

This is by far, my favorite bar in bk. The bartenders are adorable and very friendly, and they can give you great beer recommendations. They’re quick to give you a free shot and they will remember your face even if you’ve only been there a couple times. Uncle Barry’s has a large beer selection and you can order food from anywhere and eat it at the bar. Uncle Barry’s is a chill, low-key place to hang out, relax, and there’s even a backyard where you can sit and drink for hours. The best place ever!!!

Good bar with a great beer selection and a good atmosphere. The happy hour is a good deal. It tends to be a bit quiet in the front of the bar during happy hour, not because of the lack of music, but because there always tends to be a good amount of people sitting around the bar quietly sipping on drinks. That’s really a complaint, just more of a commentary on the type of place that it is. I might call this place a classy dive if I were pressed for a way to describe it.

I like this bar because it’s has a great beer selection and decent prices. I have yet to see it packed and there is a patio out back. It is definitely a dive but it’s a good one. They are open late so we tried to make this our night cap stop where we wouldn’t break the bank. After drinking $ 15 cocktails in Manhattan we needed a good spot for craft beer and a place were we wouldn’t break the bank. This fit the bill perfectly. It’s a neighborhood spot were I would be all the time if I was a local. If you are near Barclay Center walk the half mile for affordable craft beer in a chill spot.

Stopped in on a Monday for happy hour around 6pm. I was looking for a place to meet my friend that was not too far from the subway station. After doing some research via Unilocal I decided upon Uncle Barry’s. Not only is it close to the subway station but happy hour lasts from 1−7pm, can’t beat it! Upon walking in I was pleasantly greeted by the bartender. He was friendly and efficient. The music added to the stellar vibe of this place. I truly can’t wait to go back even if by myself just to sit and appreciate the musical selections. My friend and I spent some time out back in the garden area as we indulged in our drinks. It was smaller than I had imagined…2 picnic tables and another small table. Even though the area was small it served its purpose on a hot summer day. Will definitely be returning!

I stopped in here for a few drinks on a Friday before a Brooklyn Nets game. I had scoped out the place on Unilocal beforehand and the beer selection sounded spot on. Along with the 4 friends I was with, we all found some really good options to choose from(both beer and cider) that were new and far from the usual offerings. And I hear there’s a back patio for nicer weather. I would definitely recommend.

Great bar w knowledgeable staff and solid, diverse beer selection. Great outdoor space in back and not a douchey crowd by any means. Definitely recommend before or after a Barclays event

Found this place browsing Unilocal and thought I’d try it with a friend after he finished watching the Nets lose to the Bulls. You’d need a drink after that game. Beer selection was great and very reasonably priced. I forget I’m in Brooklyn when the interior reminds me of almost every Manhattan yuppie beer bar, clientele included. Thankfully the price is right for drafts. Will definitely drink here again.

I’ve been back many times since 2012, especially for trivia night Wednesday. I think it’s the best trivia in the neighborhood, but I haven’t done them all. They have friendly bartenders and a rotating selection of new craft beers. If you’re trying to find a new taste of something, chances are Uncle Barry’s will have it. A word of warning about trivia night — it’s gotten very popular so get there early to snag a table. They allow outside food too, so keep that in mind.

–Beer selection included more than one wheat beer and many non-IPA options –Bathrooms are unisex, but have C3PO and R2D2 depictions on the doors. I used each bathroom, but it’s so obvious that more women use C3PO and more men use R2D2. Discuss. –Bartender was knowledgable and friendly The night we came here, there was an event going on at the Barclays Center which had just let out as we were getting to the subway. It was a nightmare trying to get on the subway, and we noticed that everyone leaving Barclays was 60+ and Russian. Later, we realized that there was a classical conductor from Russia performing there that night. This likely explains why Uncle Barry’s was not crowded that night at all. I’m guessing during basketball games or other concerts that young people attend, this place would be crazy.

Why is Uncle Barry’s always empty on weekend prime time? Drink prices are NYC drink prices, but there’s plenty of room and a solid backyard patio for the summer. There’s nothing overly special about this spot, but that means it’s a place you can take just about anyone.

Uncle Barry’s has an impressive beer selection. Being from Seattle it can be a little difficult to go to a bar and be able to pick from various IPA’s. We are spoiled in the Northwest. The beers are $ 2 off during happy hour. It’s the perfect place for quick brews before heading to the over priced Bud at the Barclays. Unfortunately, everyone is thinking the same thing. This can be a bit of a squeeze. I still think it’s worth it for a tastier and affordable beverage!

I really enjoyed this bar. I have heard it gets crowded on weekends, but I was here the Thursday after Christmas around 10pm and there were plenty of seats available. The bartender was really friendly and cool and has good taste in music seeing as his iPod was running the show. I can only recall my early 90s favorites(Nirvana) but he apparently played more modern stuff(Modest Mouse?). They have beer flights for $ 10 that come in 4 of this tulip shaped beer glasses. I feel like this made it look like I was drinking more than I was. Most beers were $ 6 and they had a very respectable list of craft brews that is becoming daily standard at a bar in Park Slope. It’s a stone’s throw from Barclays so could see it being a good pre game or after show spot. I also like that it is on a block with 2 or 3 other bars which makes it feel pretty happening and gives options. There were darts in the back, but this meant that every bathroom trip meant interrupting a game to pass through. There are a few random Star Wars decorations, like a really nicely draw Darth Vader behind the bar. I feel like I could bring almost anyone here, it isn’t too sceney or hipster or sporty or divey, just a really comfortable non-pretentious place for a drink.

You had me at six hours of happy hour. I was just along for the ride when my boyfriend walked us to this bar, so I was pretty(and pleasantly) surprised when we walked in and it was happy hour — and when I learned that happy hour is from 1 to 7 everyday with $ 2 off drafts. Uncle Barry’s has an excellent beer selection, and the bonus of $ 2 off is a pretty sweet deal.(If we weren’t there during happy hour, the $ 10 flights wouldn’t have been so bad either.) We grabbed a few pints of new beers we’d never tried before and stayed for a few rounds. There was a decent crowd on a Thursday afternoon — busy enough for it to be interesting, but not too busy, so we were still able to find seats. The bar also has a nice little outdoor area with two picnic tables in back. Kind of a silly side note: There are two bathrooms — one marked by a picture of R2-D2, the other with a picture of C-3PO wearing a hat.(I don’t think gender matters.)
