One minute from the Barclay’s Center so it’s great for a drink before or after. The food is okay, not great and too expensive for the quality. But the drinks are really good and very well priced. A little bit crowded as well but still a decent spot close to the concert venue.

Great happy hour deal from 4 – 7. $ 4 draft and house wines. And a food menu starting from $ 5. I ordered the calamari for $ 6. It was well seasoned. And a decent sized portion for the price. I will be back for happy hour.

This place is perfect. Should have 5 stars all-around. Delicious and, more importantly, consistent. The corned beef hash is the best I’ve ever had and I always come back for more. Short, straight-forward menu for brunch and dinner and never had anything on the menu that wasn’t good. Everything is great. Sure, the service can be curt, but that’s the way I like it. I can’t imagine I’m important enough to try to ruin a terrific business based on not being treated with kiddie-gloves, but that’s just me. If a place is simply bad(for example, the food is clearly disgusting), I give a bad review to give people a heads-up to steer clear and let the business owners know that they need to step it up. But this place is great. Just don’t be self-centered. It’s funny: negative reviewers often seem to understand that the person not treating them like a dictator might be having a bad day(or clearly don’t realize how important you must be), so why not leave a review accordingly? With humility and empathy for the human condition and spirit. Reverse the role, be nice to them instead of sitting with a scowl expecting them to brighten up your day. No placading, patronizing nonsense for wanna-be restaurant bloggers looking to find faults. Just delicious food, rotating beers and fast and consistent service.

I came and I left. It was a group of 4 before we go to the basketball game. My 2 friends arrived first, then me and my friend also came short after. We were just going to gab a quick bite. the server was very rude to us, my friends were already seated(at a tiny table for maximum of 2RIGHTOUTSIDE the ladies room) and having snacks while waiting for me. So she told the server/cashier/bartender that the group has all arrived if we can have a bigger table now. Server said I told you the wait will be 10 mins(why bother asking again sort of face), meanwhile the booth in the middle, the customers were leaving. The girl’s tone was very rude to us, maybe she was having a long day and a busy dinner service, but it was not fair to let her stress on me. Her face expression plus her attitude, yea no thanks. Server like that is just chasing away new customers so she can maybe have a slower night to relax. I left with my friend who came with me. we went to the next block and had Italian with a much nicer service and food!

Wait is usually a little on the longer side but well worth it. Absolutely the best brioche french toast ever!!! Will never get tired of eating it. The burgers are great as well(get it with bacon!)

This place is great. Nothing amazing to bowl me over but I’ve been about 10 times now and have never had a bad experience. The food is good(not great) but everything seems very fresh. It’s perfect for a quick lunch/dinner or a nice brunch. Their veggie burger is probably the best thing on the menu, however I think it’s a bit over priced. During the summer they have great outdoor seating. Try it out a weeknight.

After volunteering at the Sean Casey Shelter, my friend and I built up an appetite and wanted something good to eat. Since I’ve been here quite a few times and my brunch experiences has always been great, this was one of the places that I recommended. We arrive around 1pm and this restaurant was packed but not so much were the wait would be ridiculous. The vibe felt great and I liked their wooden booth which looked very pub-ish. Once seated we were immediately greeted with a smile and the service felt fantastic. I ordered their two eggs w/fries($ 8) and a side of sausage($ 4⁄4 links), while my friend ordered their Huevos Rancheros that came with cheese, black beans, tomato sauce, sour cream and guacamole. We both thought our food was delicious and but what stood out most where their Bloody Mary. Not only did the alcohol gave a good kick but it was nice and spicy! I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good meal and a friendly face! Best of all, they also have backyard seating when the weather gets warm.

I wanna like this place, I’ve been numerous times, it’s got that charming neighborhood vibe inside but honestly the execution just seems lazy, going thru the motions. The beer selection is short not interesting. The wine selection is barely above mass-produced juice. So not a exciting place to drink substance-wise(no pun intended) The brunch/dinner food is neither unique or particularly memorable. I’ve had their mediocre burger repeatedly and it’s just sorta whatever. To riff off ‘Gladiator’ — good enough for the provinces, but not for Rome.

The food here is pretty much always amazing and the waiter with the great mustache was very nice but to the BARTENDERWOMANWHOCHASEDUSASWEWALKEDOUTYELLINGHEYWHEREDOYOUTHINKYOUREGOING even though we had already paid and left a 22% tip on a $ 70 bill, how about you check your pos system first or have at least some kind of idea whether or not the tables you’ve made drinks for have been tended to or not. She embarrassed me and my 2 coworkers and didn’t even apologize after a very embarrassed me said«…we paid already.» She just said I’ll check with the server. Maybe you should’ve done that while me and my table were having a heated convo causing us to take 15 mins to put on our coats and actually leave. You ruined out experience, Next time check your pos system instead of racial profiling lady ;)

Eclectic restaurant. There were 3 of us and we managed to get a steak and salad, pancakes and a chicken sandwich. On that note it can cater to anyone’s hunger and wants. The food was OK. Wasn’t fantastic wasn’t terrible just OK. Service was fine, again nothing stellar, not awful, not memorable. Don’t know if I would bother coming again, there are so many restaurants in this neighborhood and it just doesn’t really set itself apart or make you think, wow that’s an amazingly friendly place or wow the food was incredible. I mean why bother coming back for meh?

This is a great place for a basic brunch option. Pretty small inside but the tables move quickly. I ordered an omelet with spinach and bacon — sorry healthy eaters, there are no nonpork meat options. Great customer service and affordable and no reservations needed!

Just went here because it was close to my hotel. The food is amazing! I got the rigatoni and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The bartender is very attentive, even though the place is packed. Definitely worth going to if you live in the area!

i’ve been here for lunch, dinner, and just drinks numerous times and the service is great as is the food. Even when they are busy, as soon as I walk in either by myself or with a friend, the maitre’d greets me and finds me a place to sit. A great place to take someone or to go for a meal or drink by yourself.

DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEHERE. I was starvingand in the neighborhood and decided to get some brunch — they advertised hangar steak & eggs on their bulletin board outside. It got me instantly. I’ve been here before, but will probably not return. I dont know what was going on. I walked in… no greet, no smile, just a quick physical acknowledgement and then both bartender and server continued doing their thing. I just stood by the door for a few minutes and just sat myself after realizing nobody was going to say anything… nope, i dont get a hello either. sorry. I ordered the steak and eggs with a mimosa. The mimosa was returned — their prosecco was flat and it taste like straight up juice. I recieved my plate — small portion, salty side salad(yup.SALTY!) my steak came well done instead of the medium rare that was requested. I ask for a margarita to replace the mimosa. It was drink-able. i recieved the bill. small, mediocre in taste steak & egg entrée cost $ 21(plus tax)…yea…never returning. so not worth it… you can go anywhere else and get more food and better tasting. and the staff anywhere else wouldnt mind greeting you or saying something with a smile. Please read the first line again.

This place is really chill with an authentically tavern feel. The food was pretty solid, no over seasoning or salting anywhere, and service was fast and on point. A super convenient 10 min walk from AtlanticAve-Barclays Center and a pretty extensive brunch menu makes this place in my top 10 for convenient and yummy brunch spots in Brooklyn.

I just need to call out this spot for being manned by serious class acts. I left my laptop bag at the spot and didn’t realize it for about an hour. When I called, the bartender(I think his name was Mike!) told me he had found it, was keeping it safe for me, and would hold onto it as long as I needed to make my way back to the neighborhood to pick it up. He did it with a smile, and didn’t make me feel like I was putting him out at all. Really just a great experience, and I will definitely be back.(Oh, and the food is pretty good too!)

I have always been a regular customer at Alchemy and even brought my friends and family when they visit. Today, will be my last. Matt, the bartender has an attitude problem and he thought he was going to be a smart ass with me, but he picked the wrong one. The tip I gave you today will be the last from me, you were lucky to get one — God bless you in your future because with that kind of attitude you won’t get far.

Hey Alchemy! I’m liking that you guys were kind enough to accommodate a group of 5 famished climbers on a mission for sustenance at 11:45pm on a Wednesday night, 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. The good things: — Fully grown, hangry adults may opt to order from the kids menu, including the kiddie burger, which is essentially a slider on an English muffin(as a side note, something is wrong when the only girl at the table is also the only one who orders — and consumes — a full sized MEAT burger) — Option to swap out fries for a salad(extra $ 0.50) or brussels sprouts, spicy kale(extra $ 1.50) — Hard cider of the day! Dry, kind of cloudy /unfiltered textured, not terribly sweet — You can be That Person who orders risotto 15 minutes before kitchen closing, and not even get attitude about it! — Seemingly lots of excellent beer options, at least from what a non-beer drinker(if not obvious from my love for cider) could tell — Pretty delicious food! The turkey burger was delicious, topped with decently fresh avocado The bad things: — Really nothing comes to mind. I would definitely come here again, and most likely will.

«al·che·my alkmē/ noun a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.» This restaurant definitely fits under this definition! My friend and I got brunch here and the food was so good! I highly recommend the eggs benedict w/salmon… mm. and the server was so kind to let me substitute some of the items without extra charge. Brunch is a bit on the pricier side, but it doesn’t disappoint!

VERY nice waitress Anna smiled all the time, was very helpful. She made my day even though I was very hungry and tired, food was served very fast. The food was great, I got muscles and shrimp risotto and they gave me dried chickpeas that perfectly matched my drink. Did I say they have backyard so you can eat outdoors? Very good place and not expansive

I like Alchemy. Close to Atlantic Terminal /Barclays Center, it’s a great place for good American, a step up from your typical fatty bar food. There is a mixture of bar, booth and table seating where one can find his/her comfort. Great for a date, double date or group of friends up to 6. They have bourbons, scotch and rye. Not an extensive list but enough to get by. Service was friendly and speedy. Food was solid. We had the Mushroom Salad with Grilled Chicken and the Grilled All Natural Chicken Sandwich. The chicken was juicy and tender. And the garlic mayo was just icing on top!

I liked this place quite a bit: friendly service with an above average beer list(River Horse oatmeal stout on tap? yes please) and the cocktails looked pretty good. But there were a couple downsides: — the bar food was tasty, but pretty expensive for what it was. $ 18 for a medium-size portion of fish & chips was excessive, but worse was the $ 10 that got us a legitimately tiny plate of fried calamari. The only thing that came somewhat proportional to price was the $ 5 bowl of fries. Prices like this for pub fare can be swallowed only if the portions/quality match the bill. — there’s only one TV at the bar, facing away from most of the tables in the room. For a place that derives a lot of business from sports fans pre– and post-Barclays events, they need to up their TV game a lot. If you’re trying to catch a game on TV, Uncle Barry’s or one of the places on 4th is a better bet.

Brunch here is solid and there generally isn’t much of a wait(even though it’s busy). The eggs benedict are good, served with a side salad(yay!) and fries. I suppose my only complaint is that the fries are lukewarm(likely held hot, not fresh), and that there isn’t a different option available. The bloody Mary was fresh and spicy, served with a green olive and cornichon, and the coffee was good. The last time I was there, the waiter had a bit of a meltdown, but it’s brunch and it happens.

I’ve been here at least 15 times in the last few months for brunch, happy hour, lunch and dinner. Today I had my favorite Swiss breakfast which is the perfect combination of crispy, salty and creamy. Be aware, they only serve this amazingness on weekdays. For happy hour, I typically come with 2 friends and we all share most of the menu. We get the ribs, burger, calamari and 2 orders of fries. Make sure to order the burger with bacon & goat cheese. The ribs are typically fatty but still worth it. We typically wait until 6 so we can get 2 orders of their brussels sprouts which are out of this world. Last time we were there we also got a side of bacon and did a little diy bacon wrapped brussels. I’ve had all of their desserts. You can’t go wrong with any of them.

Went to Alchemy for a Sunday morning brunch. Their backyard is quaint(not necessarily comfy), but it’s a nice spot when the weather is warm. My boyfriend and I really liked their bartender in the front– he’s super friendly and gave us some tips for fun things to do in the neighborhood. They have a small but interesting draft beer selection. However, service for brunch was only okay. Fortunately, the food was exceptional. I had the chorizo with jalapeño grits and eggs which was delicious– surprisingly spicy. What a special twist on the typical egg dish. My boyfriend had the corned beef hash which came with a large portion of corned beef and some perfectly poached eggs on top. According to him, it wasn’t really hash– just shredded corned beef on top of hash browns. He really enjoyed his food but my dish was the clear favorite. Who doesn’t love sopping up delightfully greasy chorizo and runny egg yolk with flavorful grits? The only thing missing: this is not a boozy brunch destination(why are there so few of these in Brooklyn?). I haven’t tried a cocktail here yet but I want to, they sound great! But it’d be nice if they had a brunch deal for mimosas or bloody Mary’s.

This is one of the first places my husband and I went to in NY when we moved here. I got the huevos rancheros with the sauce on the side. It was phenomenal! I loved it! My husband is hooked to the Chorizo and Eggs dish. We enjoy sitting in the patio too. The inside is also nice, there are very cool rustic booths that are perfect for small groups. We just took my older brother this weekend and he can’t stop raving about it. We arived at 11 am and walked right in. We were seated right away, the coffee came quickly and followed by complimentary mini muffins. He has not been able to stop talking about the huevos. It’s a great spot for a comfort brunch.

Came here a couple of weeks ago and had a decent time. It was on a Sunday and they were showing the World Cup games. The place wasn’t packed with drunk people which was great since I had a 10 year old with me. We sat in a booth and our orders were taken promptly. The wait or was nice but I could tell he was a bit frazzled as he was also tending to guests in their outdoor area(in the back of the restaurant). The food was good. This is a nice chill place for a quick bite and a few drinks.
