Ummm I came because I had a groupon. I don’t think I’m a fan of this place. The drinks was the only thing I liked. I had the salmon asparagus and red potatoes and it was not that great to me. As an appetizer I had the cod fish cakes. Ummm NOTGOOD! To rubbery. I always pass this spot on my way to Soco always wanted to try, however curiosity should of killed the cat.

My wife and I dropped by Wrays for nice local dinner. Service was slow and it wasn’t crowded. The waiter finally came n ordered and thats when it all started. He, was the bartender. the t v repairmen, the host etc. After about 20 minutes we received the appetizer, roasred corn, verrry good. After about 20 more minutes he took the order for an entrée, a simple order of oxtail and rice /peas and snapper with veggies. Presentation is everything, and the lacked all of that. SMH I Wound up eating the fish and turning everything else back. NG .5 star

People complaining about the space at this place. Yes, it’s small but not the end of the world. There are many«hole in the wall» restaurants in NYC and that’s what makes us special. I probably would not hit this place on a Saturday night if I don’t feel like dealing with the small size. We called 15 – 20 min before we arrived and the host held a table for us. It was a Friday evening. We were seated right away. The waitress came right over and took our drink orders. My friends were a bit indecisive so this took longer than it should. She was friendly and patient. She even make recommendations. Finally, we ordered our drinks and I noticed the bartender was gone. The waitress hopped behind the bar and made the drinks herself. SCORE! Next we ordered appetizers and entrees. Apps came out at a decent speed. The entrees took a bit longer. By the time we became slightly agitated by our hunger, the food came. In the interim we had our drinks and apps. The music was really good too. There was only one chef in the kitchen, so that explained the delay in food. Everything was well worth it tho. I had the fried lobster. It was amazing. I wish the plantains were sweet though. My friends had the jerk crab. I had a leg and it was AMAZING. I plan to go back and have that myself.

The service is horrible and food is not Caribbean at all. I would not recommend this place at all. I honestly don’t even know why they are still open smh. I did not even want to give this a star at all

After reading the other reviews, I hesitated coming here for dinner, but it’s very close to work and home, and the pictures of the food looked amazing. We decided to go with the recommendation from a salon client and give Wray’s a shot, and we were so glad we did! Our server/bartender Talia was inviting and friendly upon walking in. I ordered the Jerk Snow Crab Legs and a mojito; my friend had the Grilled Salmon and a margarita and we shared a side of collard greens. Our drinks came first and they were a great start to our dinner. The greens were the right amount of flavor and spice and we devoured them. The Jerk Snow Crab Legs were out of this world! I was so happy with my choice. My friend also enjoyed the Salmon. We give Wray’s a 5 star review for their food, drinks and service! Thank you Talia, see you again soon!

This place is a small location. The food was amazing the drinks were mediocre … lobster mac n cheese to die for. But the waitress and service was horrible. Waited about 15 minutes for someone to even take our order. Host had a nasty attitude. Added additional food we didnt ask for to the bill… They need to hire at least 2 more waiters. But the food did make up for the nasty attitude. But i will give them another try it was my first time going there

Skip the brunch. There are too many great food options in Brooklyn, to be settling for a sub par dining experience. But — if you still find yourself brunching there. Try not to order the(one lonely slice of) French toast or the(I’ll scratch your throat with my dry) chicken and waffles.

My new Caribbean Seafood restaurant! I truly enjoyed the Steak and Jerk Lobster tail. It was delicious! The Host, Michael was very helpful. He promptly greeted us and made sure all of our needs were met. Thank you for an enjoyable evening! We’ll be back!

I tried this place for the SECOND time after a HORRIBLE1st experience. What can I say, I’m a glutton for punishment… Upon arrival, there were five wooden rectangle shaped tables similar to grade school cafeterias, of which FOUR were vacant, and a small bar less that two feet away(pretty cramped,) I immediately had flashbacks of my first visit… So I decided to think positive thoughts and positive outcomes would follow… We were greeted from a server who seemed to not be aware her job is to ‘serve’…she sort of said ‘hi’ then began to walk past us(my homegirl and I), were we to follow her? Not sure, we stood where we were; she then turned around with a «duh your table is right here» face while standing in front of the many vacant tables… We sat down and she asked if we would like anything to drink, I ordered a sorrel martini, thinking you can’t really screw up a sorrel martini. My friend ordered the same. I asked the waitress if she had any meal recommendations and she said verbatim: «This is my second week here so I don’t know.» I held in my shock and ordered a lobster tail and steak, she asked how would I like the steak cooked, I said MEDIUM. My friend ordered mussels. Before handing the menus back to her, I realized she neglected to ask what sides I wanted, as the menu specified all entrees came with two sides. I said for my two sides I’ll have rice and beans and a salad. She said ok and walked off. 20 mins later and our drinks had yet to arrive. Did I mention there was only one other table of five in the restaurant… a few mins later she strolls over with our drinks. They were watered down and tasted like the sorrel was from concentrate. Nevertheless I didn’t complain. We patiently waited for what seemed like another 30 mins. I waved to the server and asked where our food was, stating the obvious, that the restaurant was practically EMPTY. She responded: «I just went to check on your food and the chef went downstairs, your food is on the grill. So I don’t even know» Again she was utterly clueless and totally unprofessional, what the heck is downstairs??? About five mins later our food arrived. The plate was cluttered. The rice was on the bottom the steak on top of the rice, the lobster tail on top of the steak and on top of the lobster tail was a mountain of sautéed onions. Then on the very right side of the plate was a small garden salad. I asked for French dressing and she said: «I think we ONLY have thousand island.» With my mouth ajar I stared at her to make sure she heard herself. Did she really say a restaurant ONLY had thousand island dressing!!! How absurd. I said ok no worries and decided to do with out. I took a forkful of rice and almost choked. The rice was cardboard hard, the steak was hard as a rock and super tough. The lobster tail was super salty and extremely over cooked. I asked my friend how her mussels were, because I clearly was not going to pay 36 bucks for that trash. She looked at me weirdly and said«are the insides of these mussels supposed to be GREEN?!» I laughed and ushered for the waitress. When she arrived, I said, I’m sorry but we can not eat this, please give me my check for the two drinks and you can take this food back. She looked completely NOT shocked and said ok. I’m sure she hears that all the time. She came back with our bill totaling 13 bucks, I guess she forgot to add the other drink, but I didn’t complain. We paid and went three stores over to Soco, and had an amazing dinner. Word to the wise: STEER clear of this place, this is not where you go to enjoy food!

I went to Wray’s for the first time today for brunch. They honored the brunch prices even though my party arrived after brunch. I found the staff congenial and efficient. The food was delicious! We ordered ackee and saltfish, bake, and catfish and waffles. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed they’re meal. I’m definitely going back to check out the evening vibe.

So I’m not really sure were to start, well I would like to begin with saying the service was absolutely terrible. One of the bartenders had the nerve to basically tell us she could not answer questions because she was to busy; in turn telling us to wait for the young man who served our food to come back to assist us with a attitude at that. No need to go any further we definitely won’t be going back. The sad thing is we love to support new resturants that we haven’t had the pleasure of trying out, but you soooo can not treat your customers like shit. In addition to not expecting them to pass the word on, how messy the service is; FYI this is one establishment you can miss. Hope the staff gain some professionalism in the near future. By the way I would of gave no stars if I could of Sorry not Sorry… SMH

Ok, so I came here 2 summers ago and absolutely loved it, I came here last summer and was surprised at how disappointed I was. The food was very«different», they didn’t even have the frozen drinks they once had. The table and chairs were dirty and dusty. I’m not sure what happened but I doubt I’ll be returning.

I would’ve have loved to give them a zero but Unilocal make you give them at least a star, when we first got there we was seated right away and we sat there for fifty minutes before she came and gave us any water and we didn’t have silverware on the table, she took our order she then said they didn’t have any bake, I was ok with that I was starving, our food took another 45 minutes, but she only came with my food, she then finally brought my mimosa but not my boyfriends mind you he still didn’t get his food yet, it was a party of 8 that came in she kept catering to them giving them drinks meanwhile I still didn’t have any silverware to eat my food with, the girl who brought my food who was also the bartender said she would bring me some just went back behind the bar and never brought me any, I told the waiter she said ok I will bring it, but once again she just kept catering to the party of six and walking pass me, finally my boyfriend got up to get my silverware, he still haven’t gotten his food, once he finally brought his food but check this out are you ready it wasn’t his food, it belong to the couple in back of us who was here way before us, the brought his food out eventually but it was the same thing I ordered he was upset, but he said he would eat it because he was hungry, the food was nasty the service was bad, it’s terrible because the couple who came in before us that was sitting behind us, only one of them got their food, his girlfriend never got hers, they was mad so the girlfriend said just cancel it and let’s go, I couldn’t eat our food it was so nasty, well I ate the plantains that’s about all I could eat I would not recommend this place to anyone, it was a bad experience, I would never go again, as a customer I want to feel like I’m valued when I’m spending my money in an establishment, I felt like trash at this place like I didn’t matter, when we ask for the check they had us waiting for 20 minutes for that, I started putting on my coat then the chef came out and we told him we want to leave we’ve been waiting to long for the check… we had to go someplace else to eat we was still hungry, it’s sad when you have to pay for a meal you didn’t enjoy… we was here on valentines Day 2016

I came for a birthday brunch on Valentine’s Day(a day which you would expect to be very busy). My party of 9 were the first ones in the restaurant(So everything should let be hectic). Everyone around me received their food and after a while I inquired where mine was. The response was It didn’t show up in the computer so I received my food after everyone was done eating. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was not seasoned well. Also others at the table were missing items from their order. Im very disappointed with this experience. The waitress seemed nice but the overall service was horrible. I would not recommend.

I came here for $ 2 Tuesday & had the worse experience… I waited over 45 minutes for tacos & the only reason it wasn’t longer than 45 minutes was because I went to the kitchen & spoke to the chef myself… I had to reorder my drinks with another waiter…& the drinks I initially ordered wasn’t available… I didn’t enjoy the crowd… The management was not hospitable nor understanding… The only thing I found positive about this place was the music! I do not recommend this place at all & I will not be returning.

Went to Wrays on a Wednesday night at 11 pm. Place was empty(just way I like it). Bartender greeted us was super polite. Food: Appetizers we had jerk nuggets they were decent Entrée I had the Jerk Crab Legs! It was seasoned so well. The potatoes and corn were good but those crab legs… OMG. I KILLEDTHEM. I was expecting the food to be mediocre because of all the reviews but I loved my meal and I’m picky. My friend ordered the oxtails. He enjoyed it but was wanting a little more meat on his plate. Ambiance: It was definitely smaller than I thought. Less seating than SoCo. Music was great and I love the paintings on the wall. Bartender checked on us a lot granted we were only ones there aside from another couple but that late it is very easy to slip and not want to give quality service. Never hurts to have a place open until 1 and kitchen still serving quality food that late at night :). Will be back again.

No thank you! Went with two friends as SoCo was on intermission between brunch and dinner. Two of the three orders came out differently than what was listed on the menu. Waitress had a lackluster attitude and no manager was available to speak with. Never again. Run!

I tried to give this place a chance. I read the reviews and still decided to stop in. I ignored the first warning sign(it was empty) and still ordered a drink and food. The collard greens were horrible, the rice was dry and the oxtail was mediocre. I don’t have a problem spending money on quality food but this was far from it. Save yourself the time and coins by going to a West Indian spot in Flatbush. This is unacceptable for Brooklyn! This is a disgrace to the Caribbean culture. The only thing authentic is the music!

Stopped by for brunch as I work my way through the Black owned restaurant list for Brooklyn and Manhattan — We arrived at the tail end of brunch so it wasn’t busy. We were helped right away. We had the catfish and rum infused waffles and the chicken/waffles along with a Sorrel Breeze and Rum Punch. Everything was great. The drinks were well made and I definitely tasted the rum in my waffles… so much so that I ended up dozing off for a while. lol I will definitely go back to Wray’s.

A friend of mine held a surprise birthday dinner here for her boyfriend. We arrived a half hour before the birthday boy arrived. He got there, greeted everyone, and we still didn’t have the drinks we ordered. Obviously we came in during shift change but it took wayyyyy too long to swap registers. So basically we went 45 minutes to an hour waiting for drinks. I only wanted a glass Pinot Grigio. Was it really busy? Nah. Once everyone sat down at the table with a drink from the bar, we ordered our food. I was so scared to order because of the other reviews lol. I ended up ordering the cod fritters appetizer and the BBQ chicken entrée with white rice and collard greens. I wanted Mac & Cheese Balls but they were out. My friend also asked for veggies and they were out… at 8pm on a Saturday night in a Caribbean Restaurant? Well that sucks! We waited forever for our meals. In the meantime we talked, danced in our seats to the reggae music, and I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail with my choice of Vodka, Ciroc Peach. It could have been a little stronger but it was very tasty. I highly recommend using Ciroc Peach. The appetizer came in 40 minutes, the food came 50 minutes later. I saw surrounding tables come in after us, eat, and leave before we even got our food. It was 10 of us but Geez! You can clearly see the kitchen from the tables and there was only one chef on this Saturday evening. I wasn’t too fond of the cod fritters and I disliked the curry sauce it came with so that was a little depressing but my BBQ chicken meal was really good. The collards were very well seasoned and a little spicy. I don’t even like spicy food but I enjoyed it. Tasted the plantain and they were very good also. The food was better than the service. It wasn’t service she provided; She was simply an order taker. The young man who was doing food deliveries and assisting in the kitchen was much more helpful and polite than she was. I made sure he received a tip as well.
