Have gone to dr Fuchs for a few years as my gyno, and have always had issue with the ridiculous wait times of their office but continued to see her because she is nice and it was only once year. Since becoming pregnant I have tried to see her, but she seems to be rarely in the office. I instead went to see her partner (dr ayoub) who has probably the worst bedside manner I’ve experienced in a doctor. Honestly he does not appear to care at all, even when giving you less than wonderful news he seems cold and impersonal. Not what I would want from someone who is supposed to guide me through my pregnancy and deliver my child! Besides that the office is terrible. They schedule way too many appointments and when running 40 minutes to an hour behind schedule don’t have the curtesy to inform the patients. I have a job and don’t have the time to sit in the waiting room an hour after my appointment. I can’t wait to find a new obgyn and would not recommend anyone to come here unless it is an emergency.

This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a doctors office. I had to wait 3 weeks to schedule an appointment. I called a week before to confirm my appointment, and they had no record of my appointment. The receptionist rescheduled me for an appointment for the following week.
On the day of my appointment I was there on-​time (12 o’clock). As I was waiting, the doctor walked in at 12 o’clock from outside with shopping bags. There were 5 ladies also waiting patiently to see her. After 1-​hour of waiting, I asked the receptionist when she thought I would see the doctor, she could not provide me with an estimate. I had to be back at work by 2:00pm. By 1:20pm… I had to leave in order to be back at work on time. The receptionist do not apologize for the delay and was unhelpful.

Unless you are the most relaxed pregnant woman on the planet, I’d stay away.
After my first trimester I switched OB-​GYNs because I had such a bad experience. Here are the highlights:
— I needed the staff to get some paperwork required by my employer filled out and signed. It took approximately 8 phone calls to get the paperwork done and then they only filled out about half the fields so I had to go back and pressure them and finally got it back the day of the deadline. The staff on the phone are rude and condescending and «accidentally» hung up on me while on hold at least 4 times. I had to beg and cry to get this done.
–No online records. Very difficult to get answers from staff over the phone. Took weeks of phone calls and 2 trips to the office to get my records when I decided to transfer.
–Waited 45mins to an hour for each appointment
— Dr Fuchs is nice and funny and swears up a storm — but she is too relaxed for my taste and takes an «everything will be fine» approach which is tough when you’re suffering. When I switched doctors they took my severe nausea and vomiting issue more seriously and ran tests and offered other treatment options. I felt like there were other issues that she didn’t take seriously as well.
–Did not like Dr Ayoub at all. Didn’t trust his opinions. Condescending.
–They didn’t take any urine samples at any pregnancy appointments which I found strange because other offices always check your levels at each appointment

I wish i can give her more stars. Shes great!
Her staff is very pleasant and organized. Dr Fuchs answered every question i had with patience (first time mom). I highly recommend!

Fuchs is great. But the staff is a nightmare. Would not recommend because they can make your life hell, which is sad because the actual doctor is downright wonderful. Hire new help, Dr Fuchs!!!

It is true there can be quite a long wait, but I bring a book and think of it as time I get to actually read and not be interrupted by kids, etc. I have primarily seen Dr. Fuchs and not Ayoub, but from some things I’ve heard I don’t think I would see Ayoub again.
Dr. Fuchs delivered my second son and it was a great, very positive experience. She is caring, funny, and most importantly a very good and smart OBGYN. I consider the wait a tradeoff for having the office be very convenient for me.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Fuchs over 10 years for standard gyn care. I’ve always appreciated her warm, caring manner, but each year I’ve found the waits to be longer and our time together shorter. Today was the last straw. I waited 1 ½ hours in her small, crowded waiting room (in ridiculously uncomfortable chairs that have not been changed in 10 years), despite being assured by the front desk staff that the wait would not be too long. I waited over 30 more minutes undressed in the exam room, then had to dress again and leave to make it (late) to my next appointment. Without ever seeing the doctor. As I left, the receptionist asked «what my problem was.» My problem is I need a new gyn. One who cares enough not to schedule more patients than she can possibly see at the same time, and does not expect her patients to wait hours on end for a 5 minute exam.

Dr. Fuchs is absolutely wonderful ! Yes the wait is long (approximately an hour) but she is worth the wait. She takes the time to speak with you, answer any question you may have and is very thorough (not to mention hysterical) …I highly recommend Dr. Fuchs just be prepared to wait a bit but you won’t be dissapointed she’s on point!

i’ve had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Fuchs. she always patiently listens to questions, is gentle and even has a great sense of humor. there are tons of OB-​GYNs out there that are rude and insensitive. i can understand complaining about the wait — i’m usually there an hour or two longer than i expect to be, but Dr. Fuchs is worth waiting for.

The wait time at Dr. Fuch’s office has gotten significantly better than it used to be. Wait time is now typically 30−45m. It used to be well over an hour, but it’s because she treats her patients like people and not like numbers.
She is by far the best gynecologist I have ever been to. Having switched insurance companies several times, I’ve seen my fair share of gyns. Dr. Fuchs is genuinely warm, caring and knowledgeable.
I wouldn’t go to anyone else even if it meant having to pay cash (which I’ve done).
A practitioner like Dr. Fuchs is well worth the wait.

Dr Fuchs seems like a nice enough person, and probably a good doctor but I cannot for the life of me understand why they schedule appointments when the doctor is not even in the office. One time I had a 12 o’clock appt. I waited 2 hours and saw Dr Fuchs stroll in with a Rite Aid bag. I had to go back 3 or 4 times for this one issue and the waits were always over 2 hours. The nurse is nice but the receptionists are pretty rude.

I had been going to Dr Fuchs for 4 years, in which I never had a real problem and all I needed were regular check-​ups. The waits were indeed very very long, but once in, she was helpful and relaxed and friendly. BUT. I went in for yet another regular check-​up a few months ago. I made an appointment to have the results read to me. Dr. Fuchs was on holiday, so I was seen by her partner, Dr. Ayoub. He told me that I had genital herpes. I was in shock and I could not believe it. The test, as I found out later was not conclusive at all, since it was a test that did not differentiate genital herpes from other sorts of herpes. But at that time, the doctor assured me over and over that I did have genital herpes for sure and that the test said so. He sent me home with a prescription for Valtrex and a dvd entitled: Your life with herpes. I don’t think I need to expand on how I felt.
Since I was still not very clear on what the test results were saying, even if I was convinced by that man that I had herpes, I decided to take an appointment to talk to Fuchs about them. I went in to see her and she had a completely different attitude. She said that the test was not conclusive and that we should take another test, one that would clearly differentiate genital herpes from everything else. She said that the other doctor was a schmuck for making me believe that I had genital herpes when it was not clear from the test. I was in a bit of a state and she was very reassuring at the time. I wish with hindsight she would have been more apologetic, but still, i was so relieved that it was fine with me.
But after that, she started to disappoint me. I asked if I would have to pay for this second set of tests, since my insurance is pretty lame and I already had a test done. She assured me that I would not. That they should have ordered the test that makes the results clear from the start. Of course, a few weeks later I receive a bill for $ 600 because my crappy insurance says that I have had enough tests for the year. I phone Dr. Fuchs thinking that she would be helpful and she didn’t return any of my 5 – 8 calls. I manage to speak to the nurse who is very kind and wants to be helpful, but she tells me one thing and then I call the lab and they tell me another. I once manage to find Dr. Fuchs in her office when I call and she tells me in a very rude way that the test was not a retest, but a follow up test and that it is not her problem and that I should not phone her. I tell her that I was told to phone at this time by the nurse and that she had never returned my calls and that I am very worried because I don’t have the money and she told me I would not have to pay… she shuts me down and tells me off because she had a patient in her office and she cannot talk. Sorry to bother you. Never again. In the end, the nurse manages to get me a discount on the bill, and I have to pay out of pocket. But those doctors are rude and I would almost say negligent, in the case of Dr. Ayoub, for whom I wrote a separate review.

I have gone to Dr. Fuchs since 2000; however, since her waiting room waits neared the 4 hour mark, (apparently her patients’ time is not as important as hers) I switched to her partner, Dr. Ayoub. He was nice enough, but I often felt as if he just woke up from a nap or had better things to do, like go to Barnes & Noble to get a coffee. On one appt. he was over an hour late for his office hours and strolled in with Starbucks as if there was nothing wrong. Despite their attitudes and brusque demeanor, I continued to patron this office because they were convenient to my home and work. I have decided after a recent visit to no longer see these doctors. After I had an in-​office procedure, which I was quite nervous about, I was eager to get the results. 2 weeks went by and I thought that maybe the results were not returned. 3 weeks and I placed a call, no response, but I did get a bill because Dr. Fuch’s office did not forward my insurance information. 4 weeks went by and I called again. I was informed that «Dr. Fuchs does not call for normal results.» While relieved that everything was fine, I was infuriated that my doctor did not have the courtesy to call and tell me. When I questioned this practice I was told that «patients who are normal do not get the courtesy of a phone call.» I swear this was verbatim. If I don’t get my doctor’s courtesy, then what do I get beside a bill? I was so offended and as of this minute am looking for new ob/​gyn. Suggestions welcome.

I am a patient at Park Slope Midwives but they aren’t outfitted procedures so in that event they send people to Dr. Fuchs. Her waiting room was pretty packed but they receptionist was efficient and my wait was reasonable.
Dr. Fuchs is intelligent, upbeat and answered all of my questions thoroughly and with good humor. I will return should i need more of the services she provides or maybe even to deliver a baby should I ever need that…

a friend of a friend recommended this doctor – obgyns are so hard to find in this city i was happy to see her. initially all went well. I recommended her to a friend of mine who ended up having a small surgical procedure done w/​this doctor – prior to surgery my friend called the doctor with some questions – the dr. didn’t return her call, she called again – still no return call, she called a third time – at which point the dr. yelled at her! surgery went ahead – at the end of this ordeal the doctor lost her biopsy results!!! actually lost them – missing gone, not to be found. and now my story, at the end of my pregnancy i was having a lot (i mean seriously a lot) of back pain and stopped into the doctor’s office to see if i should book an appointment for this or if this was something to worry about – this was around closing time and i didn’t mean to come so late – she wouldn’t even talk to me, she yelled from her office that if i was really concerned she could admit me & induce, this left me with an unsettling feeling – but being in my 9^th month i couldn’t just switch doctors, after my baby was delivered – by her partner, Dr. Fuchs was suppose to come see me the next day – it being a c-​section & all, she didn’t. The day after that i was hobbling down the hall for water and she passed me in the hall said «hello» blah blah blah, i went back to my room & expected her to come and check whatever needed checking – no show. I didn’t see her again until i was ready for check out. When she finally showed up & asked me how i was feeling i told her «disappointed» and that i had expected her to check on my incision etc… she said and I quote «but i saw you walking that day in the hallway» my response was «did you think i was leaving?» i’m sure the insurance got billed for the «hello» in the hall but i didn’t see that doctor from the time that baby was born until discharge, obviously – she is no longer my doctor or the doctor of any of my friends, also see methodist hospital – bad bad place
