I hate to be the one to break the news, but this place is officially closed. RIP Phil-A-Mignon. I really enjoyed your food.

Loved the steak sandwiches!!! Delicious. Great service and the owner, George, was very personable. Gina was terrific too. We flew into PHL and found this place on Unilocal. It was worth the detour! Yassou and afkaristo George! Much better than a gyro!

My husband is addicted to this place! The owner is very friendly and helpful when ordering. We have had the Greek pizza, cheesesteaks and the cheesesteak Stromboli– oh my God sooo good! I typically don’t eat strombolis but this one was irresistible! Excellent food and great customer service– highly recommended.

Finally got to try a Phil A Mignon steak sandwich last night. My Bro and Bud placed a to go order for 3 steaks and 24 of the raspberry peppercorn wings. Originally, we were going to order the regular steaks which are roughly 7 bucks… But decided to upgrade to the Filet Steak sandwich which are roughly $ 15. 3 Filet Steak sandwiches and 24 wings came out to roughly 70 $. They were nice and added a free 2 liter of coke to the order, which is warranted IMHO. Anyone orders 3 sandwiches and wings for 70 bucks they should get something comped! As excited we were to try the steaks, we were all quick to get into the wings. Not a common flavor for wings… They were fantastic! On the larger size, crispy and delicious! We only wished there was more sauce! Next time we may order some on the side as well. The problem with 24 wings in a container is that only the bottom layer soak up the sauce… so we did a lot of sloshing the container around and dragging our wings thru it to sop it up… Definitely give these a shot, well worth trying this«exotic» wing sauce. Onto the Filet Steaks… First look… what a waste of a filet… It was well done and there wasn’t that much of it for starters… the ends of my roll both lacked steak… I wondered if it was because we ordered 3 steaks and they didn’t put enough meat on the grill for 3 sandwiches, but made it work anyway… the steak was thin cut, about 3⁄8 of an inch thick… Just seemed like there should have been more on there for my 15+ dollar sandwich… The roll itself was fantastic… a seeded long roll, my guess is from Sarcone’s. I think the regular steaks come on non seeded rolls as the menu says«seeded rolls add 1.00 for regular steaks». Nice that the rolls didn’t dominate the sandwich, not too much bread, except for the ends of the roll where the steak didn’t reach. Taste…It was good. It did not knock my socks off by any means and I won’t be rushing out to get another. I’m actually more excited to try their regular steaks now. I really didn’t notice the«bourbon glaze» marinade, nor did my guests… maybe if you had it plain without a roll, cheese and onions you could taste it but we didn’t notice it on our sandwiches. I read somewhere they marinate overnight but it didn’t seem that way to us! I do have a tip for you all, and the business. They should be putting the raspberry peppercorn sauce on the filet steak sandwiches! We dipped our steaks in the sauce and it was KILLER. That marinade we could taste and it works so well with the filet! Try it! So, a bit letdown with the signature Filet Steak sandwiches, but the wings and sauce rocked our world and we will definitely be back to try the regular steaks and some of the other offerings they have here. We collectively decided if we were to order again we would order 1 filet steak to split and regular steaks all around… Just a bit too pricey for what you are getting IMHO.

This is our new favorite place. We were searching for a new place to try on Unilocal and this one was the highest rated near our home. So happy we tried it! We have ordered from them the past 2 nights, and everything has been delicious. So far we’ve had the raspberry peppercorn wings, the Dynamic Duo, the Stallion, and the Zorba — all were fantastic! The first time I got the regular meat and my husband got the filet. I tried some of his and highly recommend getting the filet in your sandwich; it’s so juicy and flavorful. I’m excited to try more menu items — I’m thinking pizza next!

Their garlic chicken pizza is the best specialty pizza I’ve eaten. Their service is prompt and you are treated like family. I like that owners son and brother work together, gives you the feeling as of that they put as much love into their good ad they do as family.

My family and I were visiting from California. My brother, mom and I are originally from Newtown Square and decided to try this place out after reading all of the excellent reviews on Unilocal. They did not disappoint. Their cheesesteaks are out of bounds! I was really impressed with the taste and quality of everything they made. We tried their raspberry peppercorn wings and they are killer! I can’t say enough about how good the cheesesteaks were. I got the traditional meat on my mushroom cheesesteak and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. My brother had their signature filet mignon cheesesteak and he said it was the best he has ever had. George and Pete were extremely friendly, not to mention a couple of really good looking guys. ;) The next time I go back east I will be sure to return!

I have to say that I live over 40 minutes from here and have taken rides down just for their food! Best pizza place in a 50 mile radius. Garlic Chicken pizza I had today was so good I ate the whole thing by myself. If you haven’t tried here yet what are you waiting for? You do not know what your missing!

Went in for the first time ever based on the Unilocal reviews. They did not disappoint. They cheesesteak i had was great, the fries were fresh and crispy. The owned convinced me to try their Raseberry wings which isn’t something i thought i would like. However they were outstanding. Not spicy at all, a nice sweet taste with a little bit of a kick. Another thing i really liked about this place was how nice and welcoming the owners and staff were. They were very engaging but not in a phoney way. Phil E Mignon isn’t very close to where i love but it is a place i will be returning to in the near future!

Great small family run business churning out great eats to boot! The filet mignon cheesesteak is a must to try! it is absolutely delicious! its perfect to share. Of course the raspberry peppercorn wings are a must as well — just b/c it’s different. You won’t regret it. I also ordered the chicken parmigian and it was heavenly! perfectly battered and so delicious. We are fans and ready to come back for more! Oh did you know that delivery around the area is FREE???

As a Texan this is exactly what I think of when I want a cheese steak. Fantastic bread, flavorful meat, nice gooey cheese and hot peppers. The owner greets you and makes your sandwich right in front of you. Super nice folks and the kind of great local joints we should all support.

I have now visited this establishment twice. I take rt 3 from Havertown to West Chester almost every work day. When the sign first went up, I thought the name was cheesey and still kind of feel that way. Always on the hunt for good Sunday«football» food this place popped up on one of my daily searches. I skimmed through some really good reviews and came to the quick conclusion that it was worth a shot as it was also a convenient stop during my travel on this particular day. Combining both trips, I have now sampled their regular cheesesteak, Italian Stromboli and their highly praised raspberry peppercorn wings. All were great choices and I most thoroughly enjoyed the Stromboli. It was packed w flavor and enjoyed by the family and our guests. I was nervous about the wings being seasoned w too much peppercorn but that was not the case at all. Garnished w pineapple they were probably from the more tropical section of Buffalo. The steak sandwich was also good and I may even go as far to say that it beats out their neighbor Thunderbird. For the sake of food science I will continue my research study on this one. Before I go, I would also like to compliment their customer service. Pete was super nice and takes credit for the raspberry peppercorn wings. In addition to seeing Pete here at Phil you can also check him out through On Demand in season 4, episode 1, opening scene, Boardwalk Empire. The girl that took my order via phone on both occasions was also extremely pleasant. They will also deliver to Havertown! A full endorsement here to give them a try!

Stopped by here for a late dinner. Ordered the filet cheese steak and the highly recommended raspberry peppercorn wings. Everything lived up to the hype. The roll was great, crisp just the way I like it. The filet was delicious. No grease like typical steaks in Philly. The only thing I could have used was a wet-nap to clean my hands after devouring the wings, though plenty of napkins were available. Staff was very social and excited to be serving the food they were cooking. Just so you’re aware the eat-in seating is two small round tables with two chairs each.

Wow, what a great name! Could they possibly have great food to go with it? The answer is YES! Several fellow Unilocalers that I trust have been raving about these folks so they were on my short list. The lovely wife was next door at Pink Nails so I stopped in to give them a shot. As the name implies you can have your cheesesteak made the usual way with typical beef or you can choose 100% filet mignon that is marinated in bourbon glaze and charbroiled. I decided to go with a «normal» cheesesteak for $ 6.75 and I added pepperoni for an extra $.75. Cheesesteak aficionados know that for a sandwich to be great, everything needs to work together. If any ingredient is substandard the sandwich fails. If one ingredient overpowers the others, failure again. This sandwich was GREAT! It was quite simply a harmony of wonderful flavors. It wasn’t huge but it was absolutely delicious. The lovely wife showed up when I had about three bites remaining and she snapped them up so fast I needed to check to see if I still had all my fingers! Her eyes lit up with pleasure. So a couple of days later my wife stopped in with a friend and they each tried a specialty steak with filet mignon. Hers was«THEARISTOCRAT» with portabella mushrooms and her friend’s was«THEZORBA» with tzatziki sauce. They were each very pleased. On my next visit I can’t wait to try the filet mignon version myself. Then I’m going to need to stop back again to try the pizza.

Finding a good cheese steak in the suburbs is really hard, but I think i have found one to my liking. These guys know what they are doing. The roll is fresh and the meat is plentiful and peppered up just how I like it! Had to try the Raspberry Peppercorn wings after seeing the reviews and pictures on Unilocal. They did not disappoint. The wings were big and crispy and smothered in the juices. Even some pineapple chunks to go along with them. Phil A Mignon, you have a new fan and I will be back again, either on my way to work or visiting the family. Thanks for the great service and food!

I must say I agree with Miss Lindsay on the name of this fine establishment very creative with a product to back it up. «Phil A Mignon » just rolls off your tongue when you say it. George and his crew nailed it when it comes to quality and customer service. Quality, what I mean by this is the steak has some nice cuts of marinated filet mignon. George does an over night marinade in a bourbon glaze that gives this meat an amazing taste. Tender, full of flavor not a single dry or chewy section to be had. I must say the gourmet cheesesteak was phenomenal, nice cuts filet tenderloin on a lightly toasted seeded roll. I had asked for 2 cheeses to this work of art in mozzarella and provolone with sautéed onions. Simply delicious, one of the best cheesesteak I have had in a long time. This is the place will be a go to spot for myself when I crave a good sandwich in the Delco area. Also with this I went an order of golden crispy fries to compliment my perfect sandwich. Oh I do love cheesesteaks, and these guys nailed it in every aspect of what a cheesesteak should taste like. Also in this spot they have a great looking menu, another reason for me to come back and peruse other options. Phil A Mignon you guys just gained another customer To the reviewer who said they had to cut up the meat up some more. Filet Mignon is not chip steak, this is something you don’t chop up.

First of all, this place gets points from me for the name itself. It’s clever and I appreciate it. Second of all, the employees here are nice. SUPER nice. It’s not too often that you find an establishment where the workers genuinely appreciate their customers. We ordered takeout from here today for lunch at work. Myself and a couple other girls went to pick the order up and the owner gave us two free 2-liters of soda as a thank you. Awesome move #1! He thanks us a million times and we left, but when we were leaving he was outside yelling for us, so we went around the block and came back. Turns out they forgot to include a hoagie that we had ordered, and since they didn’t get our attention right away, one of the workers was in his car, getting ready to drive the hoagie to us. Now THAT is really nice. Awesome move #2! Luckily, we were able to stop him before he drove away. :) I got the mild wings and cheese fries. The fries are the ones with the crispy stuff on the outside — no idea how to describe it – if you’ve ever been to Pat’s Steaks in South Philly, these fries are pretty much the same as theirs. The wings are delish — somehow they arrive still crispy. I don’t know how it’s done, but it’s much appreciated. I’ve gotten the raspberry peppercorn wings in the past(M and I have ordered from here before) and they’re pretty good. Different — but good. All in all, I’m glad this place is around. It’s good food with great service and I hope it stays in business for a long time!

I ordered 2 cheese steaks and a chicken cheese steak least night at around 9 and the staff was very nice about making the order even though they were technically closed. My parents just flew in from Florida. We were all impressed with the steaks. Looks like we have a new place to order our steaks from! Keep up the great work!

I am not really a steak fan(I know, blasphemy!) so I tried their pizza and a salad. I can say, hands down, this place is a winner! Their pizza, which is Greek Style, has a delicious crispy crust, a zesty sauce… and THECHEESE!!! It was just spot on! The texture and flavor was perfect. Their menu has some creative selections(like different types of grilled cheese sandwiches) that will be sure to entice the epicurean as well as the common foodie. I’m happy to see something different– and delicious– come to Broomall.
