I will start by saying that this isn’t a place I would choose to go but my friend wanted to go so I tagged along. We ordered margaritas. They come out in a shaker so you get more than one glass. Extremely sweet and not a lot of alcohol. I had one glass and gave the rest to my friend. I ordered the shrimp wonton stir fry which is on the lighter fare menu. I actually was pleasantly surprised and I enjoyed it a lot. However, it was missing a main ingredient. .the wonton strips. I didn’t really care so didn’t say anything. I would order this again. As far as chains go, this is a pretty good choice. I would certainly pick it over some of the others. And after this last experience, I would be more inclined to go back. Really pleased that they have a lighter fare menu to help me stick to my diet.

I really don’t want to give anyone 1 star but this place deserves it. I’ve tried countless times to give them a chance, because my fiancé loves it. But they’re just plain gross. Hair in food, food is cold, dirty dishes. Manager doesn’t care and servers move like zombies. Everyone should probably get fired and start over. Or actually train them.

The worst experience ever. Went for family dinner got seated faster than the fifteen minute wait the hostess said that was a good start. When seated chloe greeted us got our drinks and appetizers. Pretty quickly then no refills even when ordering from machine nothing. Got food my order was wrong and charged for food that i never recieved. Asked for a to go box because i never send food back to the kitchen. Way to many horror stories. Applebees use to be one of my favorite restuarants times have change i guess.

Depending on what you order, will effect your experience, stay away from the steak, this is not a steakhouse but then again they don’t claim to be… Great for apps and drinks and have various specials through out the week

Mix and match appetizers is one of the things these folks do. On a recent visit I gave it a shot and let’s just say there’s room for improvement. But the bartender saved the day! Read on. So for my three for $ 12.50 I ordered Pot Stickers, Kobe-Style Meatballs and Sweet & Spicy Pickles. From low to high, here are the results. Pot Stickers– Forgettable and abysmal. Served on a bed of chopped wilted lettuce with brown edges they could barely be called food. I would rate them –1 star. Meatballs– This is the second time I have ordered these and I have found them acceptable. I would order them again. The portion size is decent. The meatballs are moist. You get a piece of bread to sop up the sauce. 3 stars. Pickles– This may be the cheapest item on the menu at $ 2.99 but damm they are good! This is what cucumbers were born to do. Lots of heat and the perfect bar snack. 6 stars. To accompany this feast I was drinking house margaritas which, once you got past the ice, were way over-priced for what you received. Let’s talk about the bartender. OMG. Sweet baby Jesus, black Spandex never looked so good! This woman could have served me sawdust with motor-oil gravy and I would have asked for seconds! Her customer service was also spot on. When it’s all said and done, despite the eye-candy, I found this to be a 2 star experience.

Was leaving the kop mall and decided to call Applebee’s ahead of time to order takeout. The greeter Chris kept answering the phone and putting me on hold. The 4th time I called I asked to be connected to a manager. Asst manager Melissa got on the phone to take our order and was very nice. But I had already arrived by the time my order was placed. I asked for the manager again when I got there since Chris still had his ‘I hate my job attitude’ and the general manager Fred came out and was a complete asshole saying ‘yeah I heard you were put on hold once, what do you want, what can I help you with.’ I said nevermind, I’d rather not talk to you with that condescending, negative attitude. Where is Melissa? Every time I come to this location I regret it. Given Fred’s horrible customer service and people skills, no wonder Chris the greeter acts like that. He is following his leader. I was ashamed to even bring my friend there to use the gift card I got him. I will NEVEREVER return there. They act like they are so busy and only every 4th table is occupied. 2 thumbs down and one star for the awful customer service and poor leadership skills.

Have found hair in their food on more than one occasion. Staff was nice and took meals off our bill, which I would let go if it happened once but it happened 3 different times. I stopped going there for that reason and because their food is below average there are plenty of better options in the area.

Have come here twice in the few weeks with friends to take advantage of the half price apps after 9. Both times food came out and was good. Nothing special of course, but up to par. The staff however, was not up to par. We had different waiters each time and both times they seemed unenthusiastic and were forgetful. Good place for a late night bite by don’t expect excellent service, it is an Applebee’s after all.

I was such a big fan of this place, the service is fantastic. And if something isn’t up to par, a manager is always quick to help with the situation. The Carside to go option is lacking and not that efficient. Food is okay. And lighting is great, the booths and tables are pretty decently clean. All around pretty good establishment

5 stars for manager, Len, who really helped us out, took good care of us, obviously cares about what he does. Great place for kids, I take my boys there all the time. Updated menu is much better, great apps. Like the Havertown location.

Went in for lunch today with my girlfriend. We got handed menus and selected what we wanted. The menus we got were actually menus that have not came out yet. The server got angry at us… We just selected off the menu he gave us. We Ordered different items out of the old menu. Server came with our food and forgot which items were ours. Sad. Never came back to check on us. We needed refills. I wouldn’t blame him I would blame a lack of management. I guess there is a reason we stopped going there. On the plus side new wallpaper! But they still have some magic show…

Went for dinner out with the wife and our daughter. We’re partial to local restaurants but we rotate and occasionally drop in here as our daughter likes it. We recognize Applebee’s is a very average chain restaurant and just a bit less expensive than other places so we don’t expect a lot. It was Sunday evening and the place was less than half full. We ordered an appetizer combo &3 entrees from our waitress(not wanting to order on the touchscreens they have placed on the tables). After about ½ hr. two other servers brought out everything at once, and none of it was hot. We said«you’re really bringing our entrees with our appetizers?» They both responded«well, sure» — and one of them was an older gentleman who appeared to be the supervisor/manager. This is certainly not the first(or third) time we’ve had order/service screw-ups here, but at least the wait staff used to recognize when something was wrong and apologize. We’re done with Applebee’s — there are just too many other places to dine.

Sat and waited ten minutes to be seated. Multiple empty tables all over the place. Only to be seated at a table that was empty when we walked in the door. Ordered drinks ten minutes was still waiting for a raspberry lemonade and a beer. Gave order and was still waiting on drinks. Good was decent but for being so slow you’d think they would be more attentive to the customers. Multiple times spot employees standing around in groups talking. Meanwhile customers are impatiently looking around for servers. It was bad before but this place is only getting worse. Save your time and go else where.

We haven’t eaten at Applebee’s in a while because, frankly we were usually disappointed – food greasy, not hot, etc. we had a gift card and decided to give it another try. We were pleasantly surprised. The décor has been updated – changed to a sports theme with photos of local high school and college team members. New table tops, seats and woodwork. New menu with pub diets – enjoyed the steak with spinach, tomatoes and whole grains as well as the shrimp, broccoli and cavatapi pasta. Nice glass of wine – Cabernet Sauvignon and a merlot. And of course topped off with dessert shooters. Decided we will go back again soon!

Went to this Applebees with a party of six. We were seated right away since it was not busy. We ordered and it seemed all was good. When the waitress brought out our food she delivered four entrees of the six. She apologized and said they had forgotten one of the meals and she wasn’t sure what had happened to the other one, the chicken. We said fine and waited, and waited, and waited — a total of about 15 minutes. We had not complained and we were very patient. The manger delivered the two late entrees and I thought that she was doing so to take an opportunity to say how sorry they were and maybe even offer something to make up for is. Well nope, not at all. Just a delivery and one that seemed to just be there in case we were going to complain a lot. When the manager delivered the chicken she said the plate was red hot. I thought that was a bit funny since they just made it. Well as I ate it I found the bottom of the chicken breast was crisply burnt. I cut around it — no complaints, I just wanted to enjoy what there was with my family and get out of there. In the end, poor food and poor quality service doesn’t cut it at all. They may have a brand name but the quality just is not there at the Havertown location. Maybe Robert Irvine could help change it…

«Half price Apps at 9pm» — My husband and I ordered the classic wings and spinach and artichoke dip with drinks, we did not have to wait long for our foods or drinks to arrive, I was surprised at how good the perfect margarita was, I got this on the rocks with salt, its definitely a buck for your dollar, the only down side was that we had to finish our food faster due to the water supply being shut down in that area.

Living in Philly it’s rare that I eat at a chain restaurant unless my grandmother visits from Ohio and is afraid to try anything else. With that being said… I stopped into this ‘bees for lunch today for no good reason. The food is still just ok but hey at least they’re consistent! The staff was really nice, like super super nice.
