I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday afternoon(4−23−16) on my way home from Brownsburg. I had enjoyed a dinner at the Dawson’s on Main a year or two ago, so I thought I would give this extension a try. The restaurant is part of a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. I chose to sit inside and was taken back into the restaurant. I noticed that there were some art pieces on the wall, but the atmosphere of the restaurant was stark and rather drab. It didn’t feel like an inviting place to dine. I ordered a craft beer and the Grilled Shrimp Parmesan with a Ciabatta roll. The shrimp were large and seemed to be prepared well. The pasta was okay, but forgettable. So, I doubt if I would go out of my way to return when I can go to the original Dawson’s on Main which is much closer for me.

I came here on my lunch break on a Friday. They’re only open till 1 on Friday, and the place was pretty empty(I think I may have been the last one there). My table was a little dark, but the overall atmosphere was nice, though I thought the music was a little too loud. The waitress was friendly, and took my drink order as soon as I sat down, but didn’t explain the special(which I ordered, not really knowing what it was) or the soup of the day. The special– a black and blue tenderloin sandwich, was not what I expected it to be(it had a slice of ham on it, the blue cheese sauce was a bit overwhelming, and the caramelized onions weren’t really caramelized), and honestly I didn’t care for it. The onion rings that came with it(choice of side) were cold and burnt. There were a few other things on the menu I would consider trying, though. Overall, just an average place. Not sure if I’ll be coming back.

The service was terrible. Extremely slow. Definitely under staffed. Won’t go back. Food was mediocre.

Started off rough, told wait would only be a few minutes, turned into about 20. Then we waited for about 15 mins before our server came over. She was nice and apologetic. Food was average. Spin dip was highlight of meal. Hot wings tasted weird and were dry. Tenderloin sandwich was ok. The sandwich came with«french fries» according to the menu, but they were really waffle fries. They were hard and cold.

For the area, this place has a great deal to offer. I have frequented a few Tuesday’s for trivia night, and have been pleased every time. The quesadilla appetizer was a good portion with lots of flavor. Not too spicy and definitely big enough to eat as a main course. I also have split their signature BBQ chicken pizza. It comes with corn, roasted red peppers and banana peppers along with some amazing different cheeses and, of course, the barbecue sauce and meat. It’s honestly one of the best BBQ chicken pizzas I have ever had! Beer selection is also great, with quite a bit rotating and local. The only reason this gets a 4 is because they seem to have their own take on everything, even the side Caesar salad(they add red peppers to that, too.) It would be nice to have a few good classics that aren’t fancied up to balance out the rest.

Called the restaurant today and told the woman who answered the phone that I thought I left my debit card there. I was immediately told that I needed to call back later because they were busy. Extraordinarily rude to say to someone who thinks that their main source of money has been lost or stolen. I won’t be calling back, I’d rather just cancel the card and order a new one than deal with Dawson’s staff.

I went here with a friend from out of town one night to have dinner and drinks. The indoor atmosphere is really nice, but insanely cold. Ridiculously cold. So as me and my friend are trying to have a nice dinner, the tables surrounding us are screaming in conversation, a ton of middle-aged residents getting hammered, and I guess this is the normal thing around here. That’s all fine, but definitely not the night I had expected.

Overall: Great spot for a good lunch or dinner. Classy bar atmosphere The good: Great sized menu when it comes to food. A lot of options to choose from. The food portions were good sized and the food tasted good. The service was very friendly and attentive, but we were there in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. Restaurant was clean and classy. The bad: Not much really. Atmosphere: 9⁄10 Service: 10⁄10 Food: 8⁄10

Went on a Tuesday night the bar was so loud they were playing a trivia game it was annoying. Our server was lazy didn’t return to check if our food was ok or ask if we needed more drinks. Food was good but probably won’t return for the $$ I paid I get definitely go elsewhere.

Friendly service our server Christa was excellent. I had the Cobb Salad(gluten free also) and it was perfect fresh ingredients, plus it was huge. My son had Salmon Salad very good it was huge also. Ice tea was fresh. This is a nice place to eat I’ll visit again next time in the area.

We have been here a few times before. Mainly for cocktails and appetizers. This last time I went for wife’s Birthday my steak was under cooked and my vegetables were under cooked also. Not the best experience I would not suggest this place for other than drinks.

This was our second time here and it was even better than the first time, our server Mike was awesome. I had the special which was prime rib and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. My wife had the herb crusted chicken which she thought was great. My 12 year old son had pizza that he said was the best pizza ever. It was his idea to call the manager over to tell her what a great experience we had. They also have the best beer selection in Brownsburg. This will be a regular place for us.

I had the chicken quesadilla and it was delicious! This was my 2nd time here and it’s worth it. Food and drinks always great. There were even people eating alone so you know it’s good. Will definitely be back when I’m in town.

Sorry this turned out to be a bad experience. We love Dawsons on Main in Speedeay so much. We were so shocked that we were disappointed by the food, service and prices. We will continue to eat at Dawsons on Main but this location needs help and wont last if it doesn’t get better help. — sorry but we wont go back. Dont say I didn’t warn you!

First Unilocal review, so take my opinion as you will, but I can’t comprehend the 3 Star overall rating for Dawson’s Too. Since moving to Brownsburg 3 years ago, this has been our spot on Friday night’s. Love the server’s(especially Donna), Prime Rib special and Ribeye’s are best around(burgers/pastas/fish ALLGOOD). Their craft beer selection is amazing as well! Zero complaints, and it’s always packed on the weekend, so business is good. So those of you with negative opinions aren’t needed there anyway :)

I was excited to try this place after reading reviews on Unilocal.I made reservations for myself and 5 friends before a concert. We were 15 minutes late but immediately seated. Water was taken and appetizer order taken. The rest of my crew showed up. Our appetizer came out and more drinks ordered. Well, it all went downhill from there. 25 minutes later, no food. We stop our server who tells us she is sorry and that there is a large group in the party room.(Most of the rest of the restaurant is empty.) She goes back to to check on our order 10 minutes later, we ask for a manager. 5 min later, we go to the hostess and ask for a manager. The manager shows up and asks what he can do. At this point, we are 45 min into our visit and about to be late for our concert. He tells us that our food is next in line after we expressed that the two parties that came in after we ordered were both eating. He tells us he can pack it up to go. We decline and tell him to cancel our orders. Sorry but it is a little hard to drive and eat crab cakes, salads, baked potatoes, veggies, etc. He says we can eat it afterwards. Really!?! He also told us that they did not comp and that he would give a 10% discount. Really!?! Well, I ran to McDonalds while the rest of the crew waited for their drink check. When I pulled back up, they were still in the restaurant. Apparently, the server did not split the checks. So she had to go back and take care of that. Also, you felt the entire situation hilarious because she kept giggling the entire time. Finally, the manager tells us he will comp the drinks and we arrive to our concert 30 min late and hungry. I shall NEVER visit this establishment again.

Meeting a dear friend for dinner, I wanted to pick something that was close for both of us and she suggested Dawsons Too. I had never been, but was really surprised that such a place existed in Brownsburg. I made a reservation for our Sunday evening dinner although I don’t think one would have been needed. The dining area was very nicely decorated with a TV playing a football game that was convenient to see, yet not in-your-face so much that it was distracting. The menu had a lot of really awesome options on it. Surf and Turf came with a nicely prepared steak and bacon-wrapped scallops, which is out of the ordinary. Many times I see restaurants that define surf and turf as steak and shrimp only. This was an option for those people who don’t like scallops. The menu had a great mix of salads, seafood and steaks. Our youngest dining companion ordered the kids steak and fries, which we later found out was free on Sunday’s with purchase of an adult entrée. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m actually looking forward to going back to Brownsburg just to try this place again.

I ate here for lunch and sorry what did you do to your mani Dawson’s. Oh you raise your praises sky high. It was hard for me to find anything under $ 9 in there so you will not get out of there for lunch anywhere below $ 9-$ 12. Sorry it is not worth it. I had the veggie wrap w a side of ranch it was good but I had to pay 40 cents for the ranch Bc there was no dressing w the wrap. With many lunch choices in Brownsburg this is going at the bottom of my list due to price. The server was nice but I did spend a full hour in here.

Great banquet meeting room. I recently came here for a buisness luncheon. The resturant and banquet room are set up nice and are very comfortable and the staff was very friendly to our party. The food was OK. Just OK. Nothing that I hated per se, but also nothing that I loved. I ordered the grilled chicen over field greends salad. The chicken was OK. The greens were from a bag and any additional toppings were added on after. Like I said… just OK(not worth taking a photo of). Others in our party had the Bleu chese and greens salad which seemed to trump my salad. In typical fashion most of my colleagues eyed each others plated and frquently stated«I wish I would have ordered that!» My gripe is the name of this place. OK, I get that the owners of this place have another location that is called«Dawsons» Why you dont just name this newer location«Dawson’s» as well, I dont know…(there isnt a Sizzler, TOO of a Pizza Hut, TOO… think about it). Then not only does this place get the«…TOO» treatment, they have a sub name that reads like a tagline in a movie trailer…“Coming soon… DAWSON’S TOO… STICKS and STONES.. .This time its personal!” Why the Stick and Stones??? This doesnt have anything to do with the original name, the location, the ambience or the food. Honestly if I saw there was a new place locally that was named«Dawson’s» and then another one across town as well I would think to myself…“Well these guys must be doing pretty well that they have a couple of locations”…not«what the hell does sticks and stones mean?»
