great sandwiches, love the homemade pimento cheese sandwich. The parking lot is horrible. Very small and it’s always busy at lunch time making it difficult getting out of the parking lot. Tea if FANTASTIC! Would def. reccomend eating here.

We’ve visited other MBH locations in the past and had positive experiences… so this one was a big disappointment. I came in with my mother, sister, nieces and nephew for lunch today. Obviously we had a large order so we were trying to be patient with the time it took to get the food ready. After a rather long wait, we got the food to see one of our soups was missing. When we went to ask the person at the counter, they said that they knew, it was out and they would have to make more… But no one bothered to tell us. I guess if we hadn’t noticed, they wouldn’t have worried about it. They told us they’d bring it to us when it was ready in 5 or 6 minutes. We waited much longer than that and then asked again. The worker was snippy so my mom sat and waited for it. When we finally got it, it had been 30 minutes for a bowl of soup. We got the attitude from the employees for free though… So there’s that. :/

Really friendly staff and a good atmosphere! I got the avocado sprout and my girlfriend got the ham and Swiss. The sandwiches were made well and tasted good. I definitely recommend eating here

I’ve been here a couple of times through out the years. I gave it 2 stars because its ok, but like Jim Carrey said in Liar Liar, I’ve had better. I really have only been here out of necessity since it is one of the few places in downtown Bryan that is fairly quick at serving the food. The older woman at the counter was rude and acted like she couldn’t care less if I ate there or ever came back. That is no way to build repeat customers or to have people recommend the place. I ordered my food for my family and we went to sit down and wait. They give you the cups and chips while you wait, so I went to fill up my cup with the nasty water they had for us. When we got our food, I noticed that I could have made our entire meals at home. My daughters sandwich was literally Nature’s Own bread with some turkey and cheese. My wife’s food was a BLT with regular bread. The sandwich I ordered was something that resembled chicken and had a couple of jalepenos in it. A couple. I could have gotten the chips from SAMs. I was not impressed. They have been there a while and I think they take for granted the traffic the location gives them because if I didn’t have to eat there, I wouldn’t. You can tell they haven’t put any money or thought into continually upgrading the place or the menu. It is the same as it always has been. Mediocre.

The customer service was poor, the girl at the counter was rude to not only me but her fellow coworkers. I ordered the turkey sandwich and it was very simple I expected something more although overall it tastes fine. I also got the broccoli and cheese soup and it tasted like Campbell’s which I like but I could’ve gotten at home.

I love Must Be Heaven! The food is terrific & the pies to die for! I adore the cute, old school country motif. This place is a staple in BCS!

We just wanted a quick bite and this hit the spot. Good service — got there a little before the Saturday lunch rush. Good quiche with wonderful tomato/basil tortellini soup. Great selection of iced teas. Good prices. Next time we’ll have dessert.

Decent place for a quick bite. We came here on First Friday, so my review might be a little biased. Pros: — Pies! — Yay it’s been so long since I found a decent Pie Place in BCS — Not super expensive — $ 3ish for a slice of pie? I think that’s a fair price — Cream Filling was rich, delicious, and amazing(I had the brownie bottom chocolate pie) Cons: — Crowded — lines were so insanely long; uncomfortably long — Presentation — my slice of pie was haphazardly placed on my plate. Not a big deal normally, but when the crust and the filling were in two separate piles, it was no fun :( — Although the selection was large, they only had a few slices out — Crust was a little soggy

2 stars because their customer service is lacking, but the food is very good, especially the chicken salad! I go here at least once a week as I work downtown and unfortunately there are very few other places to get some quick food. Service is not consistently bad, but enough to make me write a review. Today, I stood at the register with a young woman behind it for probably 30 seconds before she acknowledged me with a, «What can I get you?» Later, as I waited for my order another customer asked where the Potato soup was he had ordered, to which another young woman behind the counter just replied, «We’re out of that.» then waited for a response from him. Not what you’d expect from a homey ‘Gramma’s kitchen’ type of place in Bryan, TX. And if I had to explain why, from my many experiences there, it doesn’t seem like a pleasant place to work, and it shows in the customer experience.

I called a few days ahead and ordered a strawberry pie to be made for my grandmothers 80th bday. I could not find another place in town to make a strawberry pie! At the time of pick up I was on lunch break. I decided to order a club sandwich. It was good… nothing special. Bacon, tomato, mayo and Turkey and ham. I like that the bread is homemade. The staff was friendly. I decided the sandwich was a bit pricey for me to return, though. I didn’t get chips or a drink and it was a bit more than I expected to spend. The pie was a huge hit at the party. Delicious!!! Props to the baker!!! Quaint and convenient to downtown area.

This is what I love about Must be Heaven: pies, ice cream, that avocado sprout sandwich, the fresh-baked bread, the old-timey vibe. This is the trouble I’ve had a couple of times now: I arrive minutes before they close and am turned away. Or arrive twenty minutes before closing and am treated like I’ve violated the social contract. Why do you deny me take-out pie at 2:55 on a Saturday, Must be Heaven?

The people were nice. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the décor. I liked their chicken salad sandwich. I wouldn’t say the place was amazing, but I wouldn’t mind eating there again. I heard their desserts are amazing, but was too full for dessert. When I go again I will keep ya posted.

Fresh homemade pies, blue bell ice cream and rustic décor… What more could you need? I stopped here for a quick lunch while out antiquing and it was great. I had the turkey club sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup and it was very tasty and filling. My meal even came with chips and a drink. Definitely a good portion of food for a great price.

Rude! Rude! Rude! When the people behind the counter roll their eyes, it’s not only offensive but it’s a deal breaker! Customer service is what makes people return! The only reason they get 1 star is because their food is actually good!

The first time I went to Must Be Heaven was years ago and I only got a scoop of ice cream. Being from California and visiting as an research intern, I had never known Blue Bell before and was amazed that there was cinnamon ice cream. I bought a single scoop for $ 1.95 and got something that was like 1⁄3 of a pint of ice cream. I ate the whole thing and fell in love with Must Be Heaven. I always wanted to try Must Be Heaven for their food, but everytime I went, they were closed. It didn’t help that I went on Sundays, which so happens to be the one day they are closed, and they aren’t open for dinner. I finally got a chance to stop by for lunch last week. Me and the BF ordered lunch combos. I got a ½ chicken salad sandwich with chips and a soup and a 20 oz drink. I chose the soup of the day: corn chowder. BF got the ham, potato, cheese quiche with broccoli cheese soup and a 20 oz drink. They make their own bread, which I thought was cool. Interior is very much like an old country store and they definitely maintain that look. It’s a relaxed vibe. Pluses for: –homemade sandwich bread –6 types of teas(green tea peach was delicious) –offering baked, kettle, and regular bagged potato chips with sandwich –quiche being slightly larger than the disappointing Village Café’s quiche slices — offering corn chowder –offering homemade pies(peach pecan pie was good) and huge ice cream scoops — lunch combos come with large drink Minuses for: — sandwiches are not much above what you can make at home — still relatively small portion of sandwich and quiche — corn chowder was more soup that thick chowder and tasted like corn in seasoned vegetable broth with other veggies and potatoes Just a casual place that doesn’t hurt to try once in a while but not much above what one can do at home for cheaper. However, I am intrigued by their version of the Monte Cristo sandwich and may return to just try that.

Omigosh, the California Club nearly changed my life! It was so good that we went back two days later and I got the same thing. Also, the peach pie was the best I have ever had. My best friend just moved to Bryan and we will definitely be back every time I visit!

I can honestly say that trying to decide between 4 and 5 stars for this review has been the most difficult decision I have ever made in my over 1000 Unilocal reviews. This is an incredible sandwich shop, iced cream bar and pastry bar located on half the entire block on which it sits in a building that was built in 1863. The owners were there and talked to us a lot and I will share with you a good bit of that conversation; Must Be Heaven was originally a restaurant established in Brenham Texas and the lady that established it sold it to the new owner that made it a chain. The owners of this location own three more of the 6 in the chain, also in Bryan and College Station. Enough history there. While we were full from doing another recent taco tour of the Mexican parts of(downtown) Bryan, we had to stop in for some pie. And it was to die for. Not TOO sweet, just extremely delicious in the way that it can kill you in a good way. I asked for any drinks that do not contain High Fructose Corn Syrup and was steered towards an outstanding iced tea that was green tea with melon with NO sweeteners. They also sell Blue Bell Iced Cream from Benham with about 12 – 14 flavors including some rare ones. Building has been restored to excellence and has apartments on the top floor, floor of the restaurant is slightly sloped where you can place a marble on one side, and it will roll down the entire block to the other side, nice state of the art juke box, friendly owners that know the history of this magnificent place which is perhaps the largest restaurant in Historical Downtown Bryan. Yet in all of this they missed one thing. The original«soft drink» or «soda» in the entire world was created in Waco Texas, 100 miles from here called Dr Pepper. Dublin Dr Pepper to be most accurate and it to this very day is made with Pure Cane Sugar instead of the gross cheap High Fructose Corn Syrup that americans are damned to drink, many not knowing any better. And they do not carry it. Thus the 4 star decision. A place like this, that even has heirloom family furniture from the owners Grandmother(yes it does, ask them about it) with such an historical focus on Central Texas, Blue Bell and all, should most certainly have Dublin Dr Pepper on draft. Now to the credit of the owner, and this is what made it so, so hard for me to decide on a 4 or 5 star review, he knows that a lot of people like us don’t like High Fructose Corn Syrup. He did state that they actually do carry Mexican Coke with REAL sugar, even though we were not offered that when ordering and I specifically asked for no corn syrup. He also told me that Coca Cola America is planning on going back to real sugar in 2010, something I had never heard of, but apparently he knows. I will resolve with a 4.5 stars, downgraded to 4 due to no original Dr Pepper, but they are going to have a hard time getting rid of us now, because the tea and food are excellent. When they stock the real Dr Pepper that created the entire soft drink industry just up the road with NOCORNSYRUP, I will be back and slam down a 5 star Unilocal review in a heartbeat.
