This place was really good, definitely one of the better Indian restaurants I’ve tried.

Best biryani ever had in PA, ordered medium spicy and it was very flavorful. Clean and quick service. Food and flavor of spices was worth the price

The food was good, and authentic, and worth the trip back. Do not expect much from the small dining room. And order way ahead for takeout. I had to wait there 45 minutes for my order. Food: A, Prices: B, Service, ambience, etc: C

Had the chicken vindaloo here. Very tasty and spices were on point. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had vindaloo that tasted like this… and that’s a good thing! Naan is also very good. Only complaint is portion size could be bigger for the price. Also they used white meat for the vindaloo which obviously is a little dry.

Food is good but not always consistent. Quantity is not enough though. But this is good goto indian restaurant. You can’t go wrong.

This place is really a gem. I recently started going here, and every dish I have tried has been well made and interesting. The service is great too. My only complaint is the spice scale. There is a massive gap between«mild» and«medium» at this restaurant. I normally order«medium» — which can still be a challenge for me. But the«medium» at Spice Rack floored me! I could not eat it. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, and I don’t think it should dissuade anyone from trying this restaurant! I want to make that absolutely clear. It’s just that the heat difference between«mild» and«medium» is more intense than the gap at most other Indian restaurants in the lower Bucks County and Northeast Philly area. With that being said, I will unconditionally keep going here! I just order mild.

The lamb biryani was a bit dry but the flavor level was spot on. Ask for a side of onions and Indian pickle. The stuffed chili naan was some of the best I’ve ever had. On heat level, I asked for the hottest they had and it only made me mildly sweat.

Decent place. Above average for the area. Friendly staff. Dining room feels like a fast food place. Can’t expect much considering its about the size of a living room, yet a LOT of people come here for dine in.

I was surprised to see such a good Indian place in this part of town. I had always had this impression Indian food isn’t great in Philadelphia. Spice Rack proved me wrong. I picked this restaurant from Unilocal reviews. The place was simple and clean. The Biryani was great. It wasn’t the typical biryani, but spicy and tasty. Definitely visiting next time.

We dined here for my mom’s birthday since it was close to home. Given the reviews we were expecting the food to have a lot of wow factor but the meal turned out to be on par with the average South-East Asian restaurant with a few hits and a few misses. The dining setup is cozy and functional with the exception of the table that is right next to the door on a cold wintry day. We ordered a vegetable pakora(fritters), a Chicken 65 and a Palak(Spinach) Soup for appetizers. The fritters were good and not too greasy and so was the Chicken 65. We were expecting a little more heat in the latter but not a deal breaker. The soup seemed healthy with not a lot of cream in the preparation but again was on the mildly spiced side. Moving on to the main course, we opted to get a Vegetable Biryani, Daal Tadka(spiced lentils), the Butter Chicken and Egg Curry for Entrees. We also opted to get a Chili Naan and a Phudina Paratha(Mint Paratha) for Bread selections. The stand out selections from the main course were the Vegetable Biryani and the Breads. The Biryani was surprisingly good for a vegetarian option with moist rice and a likable flavor. The breads were soft and flavorful. As far as the rest of the dishes, the Butter Chicken tasted very generic and slightly on the sweeter side. The Daal Tadka had a slight flavor of raw garlic amidst other tempered spices. The Egg Curry was the least liked for the night given the addition of sugar(quite surprising and off-putting given the sweetness). Service was prompt and acceptable. The wait staff knew the menu quite well. So overall an OK experience.

In Bensalem on business, based upon Unilocal reviews stopped in and delighted that I did! Like reviews indicate, you’re not coming for the ambiance. .but the food GREAT. I had Aloo Gobi and Chicken Tikka Masala. .both d’lish, wonderfully spiced, served piping hot and clearly made to order. The server was very pleasant. No beer or wine, but if you’re from here you probably know about whatever laws the server was telling me about. I WILL be back!

I came here again last night after convincing my cousin that he needed to try it. I was in the mood for it, so I was happy that I finally made it over for a second time. The owner was standing in the dining area, waiting for people to come in. We were greeted immediately and told to pick a seat. Our server was the same guy I very distinctly remember the only other time I was there(which is crazy), because the last time he looked like he was high as a kite. He’s a little out there, but friendly. The only thing that bothered me that he was constantly touching his face and running his hands through his hair. We shared the Chicken Tikka, Chicken Curry, and some garlic naan. The food was absolutely satisfying in every single way. I had wanted Tandoori Chicken, but unfortunately they didn’t have it. I ordered the«dry» version of Chicken Tikka, and it was just as delicious. I was completely happy with my meal, and so was my cousin. That sweet burn lasted in my mouth for a good hour after I left. Be prepared to wait a little while for your food. I don’t have problems with things like that, but others might. It’s worth waiting for. Come here when you have a good conversation companion with you, or even a good book. You won’t be let down when your food arrives. My server ended up vanishing out of nowhere at one point. We sat and waited for awhile after we were finished eating. The manager came over to clear our plates and asked if everything was okay. We spoke volumes about the food. I thought I was left a check the last time I was there, and we even asked for one… but no one ever came with it. I finally just got up and asked if I could pay them in a respectful manner. All was good. The guy working the counter was very friendly and apologized about not having when I originally wanted to order. I told him that it was no big thing, and that I was still content with what I ate. Check was cheap. Spent about $ 26.00 for everything. Definitely worth it. I will eat here again.

Got the Chicken Korma and Veggie Biryani and it was INCREDIBLE! Enough food to last me 2 very satisfying meals. You can customize the amount of heat in any dish you order which is super helpful for spice wimps like me. I can’t wait to go back.

The best Indian restaurant in Bensalem. Really fresh food, with a great selection of unique dishes, like Dahi Batata Puri. A really big selection of soups and breads. A great selection of vegetarian options too. The food is so much better here I’ve stopped going to the other three or four Indian restaurants in Bensalem

This is a typical Indian restaurant with average ambience. But the place is very clean and hygiene. We have ordered garlic naan and Hone Made Butter Chicken. Butter chicken is just awesome and the texture and creaminess of the gravy along with the wonderful taste made me satisfied. Garlic naan was as usual Chicken pakora — You don’t want to try as it is just a fried chicken piece in oil. But overall, the food was really tasty but the servicing was damn slow. Butt will come back here for sure.

Spice rack hands down is the best indian restaurant in town. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious! We ordered from other Indian restaurants and they just can’t get the perfect blend of spices and flavors like spice rack does. If I close my eyes while eating SR’s food, i feel like I’m eating food in India. My favorite is: Palak Paneer Chicken tikka masala Garlic naan Paneer lacha If you’re there, treat yourself to a mango lassi!

What is with this place? Spice Rack is about as unassuming and simple as you can get. The first time we walked in, we exchanged a quick glance, not knowing if we’d found the right place. The walls are nearly bare, the tables and chairs are about what you’d expect in a cheap Chinese take out place. The only server we’ve ever had is a younger guy who is pleasant and talkative. He’s good at making suggestions for those who have issues with the menu. He’s just a little out of place. You’ll understand when you get there :-) The reason this place has such a high rating is the FOOD. My goodness, they have consistently great food. I had been a chicken tikka masala man for years but I was looking for something less saucy and lighter so I went with the tandoori chicken. It came out on a sizzling plate with a whole chicken’s worth of meat on it. Unbelievable. The flavor was almost indescribable. Those who’ve had tandoor oven items before will understand. They have a nice selection of vegetarian dishes(good for the wife) and a lot of interesting appetizers. Their naan is awesome, too. Go to this place. They’re also a byob, which keeps costs down. There’s really no reason not to grab a 6-pack and head over to this place right now. Enjoy!
