Walked past it a bunch of times and didn’t think much of it. My mom talked me into it since they sold the tea she likes. Ok. What a cool tea and coffee shop! Lots of loose leaf teas! Various quality of teas and flavors as well as loose and tea already in s tea bag. Didn’t try the coffee but it looks like they brew some for you to take on the go. Oh– forgot to mention the coffee!!! Lots of plain coffee as well as flavored coffee. All sold in beans. I’m going to get my husband a variety pack for Christmas. Shhhhhhh. Don’t tell him If you smoke– they sell some rolling papers and chocolates as well

I just love this place. The people who run it are so nice and kind. They’re beautiful dog is always in the shop. You can never go wrong with true dog people. Also, the selection of coffee is fantastic and I’m always wishing I needed a new coffee mug because the ones they have are so cute. If you are looking for a nice gift of a coffee/tea lover, this is your spot.

I LOVE coffee!!! Just wanted to get that out of the way first. :) This is such an awesome place to visit. When you first walk in, the smell is amazing. Secondly. there is usually the best little dog to greet you, sometimes a bigger one too. They leave you alone, but they both love pets if you offer. Okay, so back to the coffee… there are a ton of beans to choose from, as well as decaf flavors for people that don’t want the caffeine. I love the german chocolate cake, or butter pecan. They will grind the beans if you want them to, but I prefer to do that at home. The employees are very friendly and not overbearing. Super willing to answer any questions you may have. They also sell loose leaf tea. which I love to drink in the winter and have tons of different flavors for those as well. The prices are pretty fair and I honestly prefer to come here and get something different every time, then dropping by my local grocery store and picking up the usual blend.

I went to Blue Mountain Coffee today to see what he at sensitive mugs they have. As far as I know they’re the gift shop in Buffalo that has the most variety of heat sensitive mugs. Positively Main Street has some. Other awesome things Blue Mountain Coffee has are loose leaf teas, bagged teas, and(is this the right term?) loose bean coffees. If you know a coffee or tea lover, go here. If you can’t find a coffee or tea they’d like they also have many teapots, mugs, and I even saw espresso makers. I saw they’re open at 8am during the week. I forget when they close, probably 5 or 6pm.

Everything about this little shop is fantastic with the exception of the prices. Entered around 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon only to be welcomed by an intoxicating aroma of coffee beans and a big hello from the gentleman behind the counter. If I could capture the smell of this place in a bottle I would use it as a fragrance throughout my apartment, such a comforting delicious smell. There were tons of different loose teas and packaged teas. There was a selection you could find in your local grocery store like Yogi, only for a price of $ 3 more per box which is too inflated to consider purchasing in my opinion. Lots of things in there like mugs for approximately $ 14-$ 33 per mug and tea cups and saucers again pretty pricey. There were coffee scoopers, to go mugs, french presses, and a section for greeting cards. Then there were the coffee beans. Such an array of flavored coffees it was impossible to choose only a few. What won me over was the decaf selection. Over twenty different flavored decaf options which is more than I have ever seen in any other store. I asked him to suggest one regular and one decaf to me because I couldn’t choose. He suggested southern pecan and maple. I haven’t tasted either yet but if the taste in anything like the smell then I’m in for a real treat. The gentleman and I made small talk which was very nice. I will definitely support this little shop!!! Only $ 4 and change for 4 oz of coffee, not too shabby. Go with that size so you can try multiple flavors!

I love supporting local places and would love to give this place 5 stars but to be honest I just don’t find that the coffee or tea is really that fresh. I assume they do not move enough quantity to keep things fresh is why. I mean I have bought teas from here and they all kind of tend to have a similar flavor, like the store itself is imparting it on them. The coffee seems to have the same issue. Just bought a pound of Ethiopian of whole beans and the coffee just tasted flat. They probably have been using the same barrels and jars for their coffee and tea and I can only assume that imparts some of the off flavor. If you are looking for any accessories or gadgets to brew with, this place is great though. They have a nice selection of good quality items like tea pots, french presses… but I go elsewhere for fresh tea and coffee.

This is a really nice, small, tea & coffee shop in the heart of the Elmwood area. I was here on a mission; to get some loose-leaf tea that matched the blend that I had been previously purchasing at Teavana, but with a more affordable price from a non-corporate giant. The employee was extremely helpful, actually cared about my mission, and together, we succeeded! They have themselves a new regular.

Over 28 years & counting Blue Mountain has been my husbands«go to» coffee supplier. Delicious, freshly roasted beans. Nice selection of tea & coffee items, cards & magazines as well. Great neighborhood asset!!!

Prices on teas are really great, and they staff is very helpful. They are not pushy like some other tea places, and because everything is there for you to touch and smell, it is much more inviting. I always try to support local shops whenever I can!

From the friendly staff, to the plethora of coffees and teas available, I adore everything about this wonderful little shop. The eye-catching window display lead me into Blue Mountain Coffees over a year ago in search of a new tea pot. With the wonderful aroma of coffee that greets you the minute you walk into the shop, I knew I had stumbled upon something good. Not only did I walk out of there with a new tea pot that day, I had a new place to buy my freshly ground coffee. After a year, I’ just as satisfied with my purchases as I was that very first day, and I haven’t set foot in Starbucks since. In addition to the loose leaf tea and whole bean coffee selections, they offer brewed coffee to go, a multitude of edible and non-edible gifts in the form of chocolates, biscotti, mugs, magnets, as well as an intriguing line of reading material including obscure, artistic magazines that you likely won’t find in large stores such as Wegman’s or Target. If you are a true coffee or tea connoisseur, do yourself the favor and check out Blue Mountain Coffees today.

Hidden gem on Elmwood Avenue! Dozens of varieties of coffee flavors that are brewed on the premises. My only complaint about this place is that if you’re trying to get coffee before going to work, the store is frequently closed as the owner tends to open his store 10 – 15 minutes past the store’s opening time(which I believe is 8:30am). For most of us, that’s a few minutes too late as we can’t be late for work. If that’s not a concern, definitely give this place a try.

This shop is the epitome of the Buffalo small business. Cozy, a bit disorganized, with super-friendly folks behind the counter and a pet or two scurrying around. In this case, two cheerful rescue dogs and a cat, who are wont to chase eachother around the store, but somehow manage to do so without upsetting the barrels of fresh-smelling coffee and jars of loose-leaf teas that line the shelves. There’s more to this shop besides beans, too: you can stop in for a birthday card, a copy of the New York Times, or a cool present(if you’re buyin’, this girl wants a super-fancy French press or a granny-style tea mug with built-in filter). If, like me, you love nothing more than to spend a Sunday sipping good coffee and kicking back with the paper, this store has everything you need to get cozy(though you have to leave the puppies in the store). I feel lucky that it’s just a quick shuffle-in-muh-jammy-pants away from my doorstep!

I love this specialty coffee shop. I have shopped here intermittently for almost 20 years, sometimes with years separating my visits. The aroma has never changed and I wish they could bottle it and sell it to freshen my kitchen. I’m immediately calmed, and I can’t leave without a cup of coffee. They also sell unique, high quality coffee and tea mugs and makers. I often see alternatives to Bodum or Nissan/Thermos stainless brands here. Some products are equal alternatives, some are even better. Just today I bought a mug to replace a lost Nissan/Thermos, and the design seems even better than the mug I lost. They also have assorted high-end magazines and cards. Definitely worth checking out if you’re cruising around Elmwood.
