Not a very diversified menu, the place is overrated. I’ve had better. The service is slow and the salad bars are good but when they are busy very chaotic. The food is overpriced. You can get the same quality elsewhere without the fancy surroundings.

Mediocre food and very dated, atmosphere in my opinion, carpet should have been changed years ago. the booths too. Friend raved about Soup and Salad Bar. To me three bean salad, soggy coleslaw, garbanzo beans, low end shredded cheddar and croutons and a few bits of this and that are 1950’s, you couldn’t pay me to eat that canned stuff. Perhaps this is not fair, but to me a salad bar is supposed to be FRESH, innovative, full of things like artichoke hearts, fresh cheeses and healthy, which this is not. Admittedly, I have seen similar salad bars around town and apparently I am in the minority I ordered the fish special, which was baked cod in hollandaise(brown heavy very bland sauce) which was blah, over cooked, on small bed of dried out spinach. Salad/Soup bar was included, so I decided to try two of the four(allegedly fabulous) soups. I chose Manhattan clamless chowder, much like Campbells of my youth with a bit of clam flavor. I dug deep in the pot for a few clams, that just were not in there. Perhaps the other diners beat me to them, The World Famous Buffalo Wing Soup was greasy to my taste, and also very few bits of chicken to be found, mostly potato If you like Buffalo Wing sauce, this is for you. Not too spicy. Repeat Prize winner? I am glad I did not try the losers soups. The portions are generous, but for me the meal was a total waste of calories and time. Now in truth, I grew up and lived in California for years, and am perhaps a bit trendier than most Buffalonians. Sorry, just not impressed. However, the servers were nice.

Never knew this place existed until a friend of mine asked to meet here for lunch, so I was shocked to see how packed it was at 1 pm on a Tuesday. The parking is interesting, spots on the side are very limited and then there’s a large back lot. Upon entering it felt like a really old divey restaurant, a place locals came to hang out, a mom and pop kind of place. It needed some serious updating, everything was outdated from the tables, booths, bar, carpeting and décor. I mean, there was literally a sign hanging on the bar indicating their specials on a particular night had past four days ago. The staff was nothing but pleasant from the time I walked in to the time I left. The woman working the hostess stand was able to seat me at a booth where I waited for my friend to join. The menu is very large; tons of various burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads. It’s very difficult to eat healthy hear, appetizers consisting of all fried food(wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, potato skins, pizza logs, onion rings, etc.) Their soup and salad bar is the way to go and that’s what we chose. They have four different soup options, two are by the salad bar and I guess if you’re interested in the other two not out there you need to ask for it from your server. The two soups out were the buffalo chicken wing and a beef barley, both were really delicious. Their salad bar was small but everything was fresh. I loaded up on lettuce, chick peas, tomatoes and onions. I wish they had some nuts or dried cranberries, there could have been a bigger selection. You can go up and refill your soup or salad as many times as you want, so for $ 9, I thought it was a pretty good deal. We were in and out within the hour. Although we served ourselves, our waitress was great, came over constantly to refill my water and ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. I wouldn’t pick this place as a favorite but also wouldn’t mind coming back for a quick bite.

Ok, I was really hoping for a FOUR but truthfully if my brother had been with me this might be a two. However, eating out alone does limit the review of a restaurant just to me. Mom and dad loved Danny’s but they are gone and perhaps with them went the mystique of Danny’s. Not that Danny’s still isn’t popular because those who are months away from nursing facilities pack the parking lot and create havoc at the soup and salad bar. The good sign was a friendly greeting at the door and a friendly waitress. My brother always says that Danny’s waitresses are downright nasty but tonight the wait staff shined with their smiles. I am not sure whether anger or disappointment hit me when I saw that the soup and salad bar was no longer included with dinners. Come on Danny my man … Your stuff is just sitting out there whether or not people pay extra. Be customer friendly and include it with dinners! So, it is a Thursday and for some reason the kitchen staff cannot figure out how to beer batter a piece of haddock. I was in the mood for fish and went with it. Ok, I admit the draw is the Buffalo Chicken Soup with its unhealthy thick broth. The soup did not disappoint … Hot, salty, and tasty. The salad bar selection(Items chosen when my parents were newlyweds …) was boring but the lettuce was crisp and the tomatoes firm(I do like firm tomatoes.). I opened the lid to the Pizza Supreme soup and … I do not think Unilocal lets me use the word I would use to describe it so that lid closed. I was very safe with their famous soup and my boring fresh salad. The fish fry is fish and potato. Ordered a baked potato and am guessing mine was steamed or nuked because the skin was flaccid. Yes, that’s the only word for it and the interior was not hot, light, and fluffy(Results when potatoes are baked properly.). Insides were warm, chunky and hard and skin fell flat. As for the fish … The interior was nice and hot and flaky but you had to saw through a thick layer of incredibly crispy breading. My bet is they bread a lot of fish and freeze them waiting for a non-Friday night sucker oops customer(Darn that spell check.). The more I ate the fish the less I tasted haddock and the more I tasted non tasty crunchy breading. As I looked around at the geriatric clientele all I could think of was broken dentures on the crispy breading. And, to top it off … A December housefly just landed on my table. The soup and friendly service raised this to a 3 but that fly … Thinking a 1 might have been the better rating.

First time at Danny’s by the airport. They were very busy but we were seated right away a table. The tables seemed crammed together in the back room that we sat in. I was seated in the main aisle where people and waitresses kept walking by, very narrow aisle, I had to keep pushing my chair in, it was bothersome. I ordered the clam strips and baked potato, it was very good. The service was okay, the waitress never asked how everything was. And we had to ask for a box for left over. If I ever go back I’ll definitely ask for a better table.

Long long ago this place was just OK. This place is dirty and the food socks. The owner does not care. The ceiling tiles are all stained and water moldy looking. Just can’t believe people ear here. Mostly local old customers. Don’t walk away run.

I was so disgusted. The hostess, an middle aged blonde woman seemed really irritated that we came in to her restaurant with my sister who is disabled. The food was sub-par at best. We waited what seemed like forever even for our drinks. It was as if they were intentionally ignoring us. The food was luke warm and the«all you can eat salad bar» was almost empty and disgusting. My advice is to never go here. Definitely don’t if you have disabled people in your party. They discriminate.

First off the host some older blonde lady was absolutely awful! Very rude and acted better then everyone! The service was terrible the food for what they charge is awful! You would think for the prices they charge they could get rid of the fly’s they have in there! Your a restaurant with people eating and paying for fly’s to fly around!!! Won’t be back! Get rid of the host and fly’s an maybe id at least drive by there trust me don’t waste your time or money on this gross place!!!

Let me start by saying that everyone working here the day I came in was extremely pleasant. Even those not directly taking care of us greeted us, and said goodbye on our way out. That’s always a super nice thing when you’re out to eat! 1. Waitress was kind, read us specials when requested, was quick with drinks, and super accommodating at all times 2. I got the Chicken Caesar wrap — chicken was good and fresh, but the whole wheat wrap and Caesar dressing were nothing special. I definitely could have made the same thing for myself at home after a stop at the local grocery store. Don’t expect fancy dressings or dishes — most everything on the menu is very basic, but well done even so. Fries that accompanied it were great! 3. Someone I was with got the unlimited salad bar with their meal — I wish I would’ve done that! Tried their chicken wing soup and oh my goodness :) that’s worth going to Danny’s alone. Lots of choices up there besides salad and soup — bread, pasta salads, cheese, etc. seems like the best deal for your money. Nothing else really to say I suppose — they have cheap prices, a typical diner menu, and there was very good service while I was there! Recommended for: a cheap, quick meal by the airport and the Buffalo chicken wing soup!

It smells in there! Food is mediocre to say the best. The only thing they have going for them is the fact they have a soup bar, and I will say chicken wing soup is very good. Not a fan, its definitely a senior citizen hangout. They don’t do well with kids.

When you go to Danny’s make sure to get the soup and salad bar! The soup at Danny’s is hands down the best thing they have going on. The chicken wing soup is amazing — spicy without being obnoxious, tasty and delicious. The other soups they have are also usually quite yummy but let’s be honest, if you’re from Buffalo then you want chicken wings. The other food is pretty average but well priced and edible. The restaurant itself is a little dark and cramped when busy but the staff are friendly and you never have to wait long.

Soup n salad for lunch is a great deal especially during winter months. Soups are different each day with their signature chicken wing soup being served daily. Not much for atmosphere but tasting different soups is quite appetizing. Soups are fresh and taste like someone took the time to make them«right». Danny’s always will be one of my favorite lunch stops.

Service was excellent! Chicken Wing soup was THE best I will probably ever have, and the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli is amazing! Only thing wrong is you have to wait for your whole party to get to the restaurant before you get seated.

Got take out from here. Ordered two fish frys, they came with large pieces of Haddock, a small portion of fries, small portion of cole slaw and a roll. Also had choice of soup or salad. One fish fry got soup(buffalo chicken wing soup) and the other got what they called a salad. First off, I love wings but that wing soup is gross. I do not know what people see in it. Second, the salad was gross too. They put it in the same bag as the fish frys so when we came home it was all wilted an warm. The fish frys were okay, nothing to really write home about. Prob not something I would order again.

I came in for lunch after hearing that the Chicken Wing Soup was really good. From the moment I entered I was greated with a smile. The hostess asked how many were in my party and then sat us in a quiet area. Our server came over quickly, introduced herself, and took our drink order. While she was gone a second server came over to ask if we had been helped yet. It was very refreshing to have more than 1 employee concerned for us. We ordered food, splitting a steak sandwich, and each got a bowl of Chicken Wing Soup. Food came quickly and our server brought a second plate, without asking, so we could more easily share the sandwich. She returned numerous times to see how everything was, how we enjoyed the food, and to keep our glasses filled. I do not recall how they titled their soup. I believe they call it spicy wing soup. Flavor wise it is Buffalo hot sauce flavors in a bowl. Delicious. Perfectly smooth. Warming, and extremely enjoyable to eat. It had white meat chunks and not shredded wings. Traditionally, this soup made with wing meat is greasy and this soup was not. I found this more to my liking, especially at lunch time. The steak sandwich was home style cooking that would have benefited from a dipping sauce. It wasn’t amazing, yet I don’t regret trying it. The restaurant does feel a bit dated. However the decore seems charming. Booths were comfortable. There is plenty of bar seating space. Parking both on Genesee street and off-street parking to the side of the restaurant. I had a great experience here which is why I’m giving this a 4 star rating. The food was as expected, its warming and middle of the road, while tasting good and filling you up.

Rude service. And all the dishes I’ve had there, have been quite bland and less than hot to say the least. So here’s how you save yourself the trouble. Order the Chicken Wing Soup… to go. It’s the only good thing on the menu, and you barely have to deal with their servers. Who couldn’t give a rats a** about you regardless. The only reason I’m giving two stars, is because of the soup…

I’d rather eat outside on this cold buffalo night as that atmosphere would be better than the one inside this restaurant. The hostess sets the tempo and is mad RUDE! Glad this order was to go and not come back.

They just don’t care! The host treats everyone with contempt(I think he’s the owner), the servers are bored, the place has not been updated(probably ever) and the food is meh. This city has so many great restaurants to go to, I can’t understand why this one stopped trying! It used to be worthwhile but not anymore :(

The Spicy Buffalo Chicken soup is very good… totally different from anything I have had. The prices are fair and the food is good. They have a good staff. Good value.
