For food 4 stars… The burger and artichoke dip were both good. Burger was cooked to my order. price not bad $ 9 for a burger. Now for service, there wasn’t any. No service, no wait staff, and had to pay a cover to watch the music and have a snack. Bartender was friendly and took our food order and brought it to our table.

The food is alright. Theys mainly taco and burritos. But you can have Wings and burger. The Serves isn’t the best. But Saturday after noon got great band call Blue Clues if you like the Blues.

Horrible service! Inexperienced staff and bartenders. The food was overpriced for what it was, there was a good blues band playing when I went last Wednesday, but unfortunately I won’t be back because of the terrible service, had to ask for silverware, after my food was served, waited 10 min for a fork, also had to ask the waitress 4 times for a beer. It took 20 min, when it came the beer was skunky… It’s too bad, this place could be a great place with better servers.

As much as I hate giving one-star reviews, I equally dislike agreeing with previous ones, but in this case I have to. I went to the Iris last week Wednesday to see a show of multiple bands performing. The venue has potential for this kind of activity. It is spacious, has open floor space and even a dance floor. Fantastic for shows, banquets, maybe even a small wedding. The potential is there. Unfortunately if you judge a restaurant or pub by its food and service, the potential is being squandered. My date and I went with the expectation that with a live performance starting just after the dinner hour that the restaurant would be well prepared to serve patrons. This was not the case. At the door, the greeter wasn’t even able to tell us positively if the kitchen was open and serving. We helped ourselves to menus since the staff seemed confused that we might want to eat. We had to go to the bar at the adjacent bar, The Library to get our own drinks. It took at least 30 minutes for someone to take our order. We ordered grilled chicken sandwiches from a menu that maybe had a dozen things to choose from, in total. They were the most flavorless sandwiches in history. The server brought a bottle of ketchup for the fries that had enough ketchup in it for about 5 fries, and we had to hunt down our own napkins. I’m settling for a 1-star because over-all the dining experience wasn’t even close to adequate, in any aspect. But again, the potential is there for this space to be something special — in a positive way, not a completely negative one.

Why oh why do I go to places that I know(from reading these trusty Unilocal reviews) are going to be TERRIBLE? WHY? Because I’m a nice person and when someone tells me that they’ve been to a place and it was«pretty good» and they’d like to go back(even though I told them about the reviews) I just kind of go along. I want to be agreeable. I don’t always have to have my way. Yup… I’m a «pleaser». Well, last night two of us ate(if you can call it that!) at this place before a movie at the neighboring AMC theater. There was live music(a high school jazz quartet that was VERY good!) and our waitress(and her assisting waitress-in-training) were delightful. Those were the ONLY good things about the experience. Oh yeah… and of course the company and conversation at my table :-). The food, however, was HIDEOUS! First off, the menu has changed. The former menu of «Iris» is no more and they only have the«Library» menu which is essentially bar food: nachos and wings and burgers and sandwiches. Seeing nothing all that interesting we both opted for the fish(beer battered for me and broiled for my dining companion). That fish was DISGUSTING! Not flavorful, not well cooked, and of questionable freshness. I couldn’t bare to eat more than a bite. The accompanying french fries were nothing more than a huge pile of the frozen kind… and the macaroni salad(not cole slaw, mind you… but macaroni salad… even I don’t want that many carbs!) was the overly mayo-ed kind bought in bulk at food distributors. YUCK!!! Do yourself a favor… if ever offered a dinner at this place JUSTSAYNO! Don’t be nice! Don’t go along! Don’t be agreeable! Be strong and assertive and insist on edible food. Heck, even a pop-tart in the parking lot would have been better!

I can’t even give this place a proper review since it was closed when I got there on Thursday night, although the doors were open and the lights were on. I went into the bar that is connected to the restaurant to actually verify that the restaurant was closed and was met by the most unfriendly bartender who basically looked annoyed to talk to me. There were 2 «regulars» at the bar and I had obviously interrupted their 3-way conversation. The bartender literally tossed me the«menu» and said that the bar(called The Library) had the same food as the restaurant had and that it wasn’t a «real» menu, they just have bar food. Honestly, I was more wondering who was actually going to cook the food since it was SO dead in that place. Between the creepy, dark atmosphere, the oh-so-pleasant barkeep and the limited menu, I wouldn’t even bother going back on a night when they are actually open! I’ve only seen other bad reviews for this place, too… Ick.

We also went because of the certificate. We were there on Thursday night, and we were one of three tables occupied. The menu is limited, and the only vegetarian meals were a mushroom flatbread, side salad, or mushroom pasta. Well, this vegetarian doesn’t particularly like mushrooms, so we asked the waitress if we could sub another vegetable on the flatbread, like artichokes. We could hear her asking the chef, who, from an open kitchen, yelled, «It’s a mushroom flatbread! Don’t order it if you don’t like mushrooms!» Nice. We ended up with tomatoes on the flatbread, which wasn’t flat. It was a pre-made crust, burned on the bottom. We ate the top only. We both enjoyed our salads. The peanut butter banana sundae for dessert was good. We wouldn’t go back, unless it was for dessert.

Don’t ever go there! it was the worst dining experience ever! we bought a certificate so i took my daughter there for her 20th birthday. made reservations and still got seated 15 minutes late. the waitress came right over and took our drink order — brought our drinks and then took our appetizer order and entrée order(the menu did not have half the items from their online menu). so far it wasn’t bad. 15 minutes after we ordered she came over and said they ran out of two of the entrees we ordered. it was only 6:30 on a wednesday night and you ran out of two entrees already — it wasn’t that busy. oh well — we ordered something else off their very limited menu. After asking about our appetizers and salad twice, they were finally served 55 minutes later. She said she thought we wanted our salads with our entrees because that’s how they ring up on their register — really!!!/??? Almost 2 hours after being seated they brought us our entrees — THREEOUTOFTHEFIVEWEORDEREDWEREWRONG! Are you kidding me? how do you screw up that bad — not sure if it was the waitress or the kitchen but at that point it didn’t matter. She asked if we wanted her to take it back — we said absolutely not — we’ve been here almost two hours already. so we ate what we could and i refused to pay for the 3 entrees they screwed up. the food was horrible and presentation was ridiculous. then she had the nerve to add 18% gratuity automatically to the bill. I will never go there again even if you gave me a gift certificate for a free meal.

Worst dining experience. I own a food magazine and my dining partner is a well-traveled chef so we can safely say we know what we are talking about. We too experienced over an hour wait for our food. Our waitress was awful to the point where she was nonexistent and we had to get up from the table and order a bottle of wine from the bar. When she was asked where our food was she said another server took it. That was funny because there were only 2 servers on that night and at the most 5 tables were full. We were then asked if we were there for the live jazz show. We said no we were there only for dinner. Our service took so long we ended up seeing part of the show being there for over 3 hours. Upon leaving a large man asked how did we like the show(he did not ask us about the food) and that we should pay next time. To insult paying customers as they leave is a sure fire way to have your business fail. Many chain restaurants surpass this place in terms of customer service and quality of food. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Definitely stay away!

Well, I decided to try this restaurant after finding a coupon. I appreciate that they are not making a substantial amount given the substantial discount afforded through the purchase of the certificate. Fortunately they have come up with a solution to this: adding a surcharge to menu items. They increased the cost of each entrée by $ 5 and would not allow it to apply to their special all you can eat crab, the latter of which I can understand. So we purchased appetizers to run up the tab a bit. I am quite glad we did, as the crab was brought out in small portions, one cluster at a time, and there was about a 12 minute delay between each round. I had assumed that this delay was to ensure the crab was cooked, nope, twice it came out still cold to the touch. This was after waiting a rather long time for the rest of our food. All of this combined, I shall not return to this place. is a discounted meal, which the restaurant uses as a form of cheap advertizing. Unfortunately Iris uses it as an opportunity to ensure they do not have any repeat business.

Iris was ABYSMAL… DONOT go here… We decided to try it out despite it being«newer» because of there $ 25 deals on . First off the menu they had posted online was completely different from the one they presented us when we arrived. The one online had a much wider array of choices(including health options since 2 out of the 4 of us are very health conscious). When we asked our waiter about the menu change he seemed very confused(this became a common theme of the evening) before informing us that the menu had changed 4 times over the past 2 months while he had been there. Apparently the chef left(he wasn’t sure why, but said there was some sort of falling out) then they had a «temporary» transition menu, followed by another menu & this was there NEW menu. Well this new menu was limited, but we were already there. 2 out of the 4 of us ordered the NY strip steak since the rib-eye was already out by 7pm, when we were initially seated, on a Saturday(really???) After we finished ordering we waited for over an hour(no bread was brought out) and we were then informed they were out of the NY strip. At this point we asked to speak to the manager who informed us they don’t receive fresh shipments on Saturdays and had an influx of steak orders the past few days which is why they were out… That was all we could handle since the menu was so limited to begin with. We asked for the check & were presented with a bill of $ 30 for 3 martinis &2 soft drinks(NOTHING was comped). The worst part was they had a table of 1520 something year olds next to us celebrating a birthday party who were also quite upset about the steak situation. Great move by a new restaurant to lose that many potential return customers. We left before even trying the food, but another couple informed us on the way out we were actually lucky we never got to taste the food… it’s safe to say we never will since we’ll never be going back.
