When I was younger I used to clean for this lady as a 2nd job. They lived close to Millersport Hwy. Her name was Carol and she didn’t like to cook either. Sooo That’s where Jack’s Place came in. She’d take me, her husband, and her kids, and we’d always order wings and fries. The wings were very tasty. We also sat at the bar(because her husband preferred it) and we’d play the bar kiosk games. Good times, good times.

Dropped in Saturday night about 8:45pm. There were several folks a the bar and one other table. Our server was very friendly and tried to be helpful, but she had difficulty making a recommendation. My default selection is always a bacon cheeseburger so I went with that while my GF had the baked haddock special. Her entrée included a cup of soup which was NE Chowdah which arrived quickly and was pretty good. It seemed to have a tang of sour cream with big chunks of potato. My burger arrived med-rare as ordered with crinkle cut fries, a fave of mine. The burger was on a cold plain bun, neither grilled or toasted. The burger was unseasoned as well, just a chunk of grilled meat. The tomato slices had to be discarded as well. They were the color of a yellow post it note. My GF’s fish was a mixed experience, one half of the filet was fine, another section was very fishy. The potato was burned on the bottom. Overall, the meal showed a lack of care in preparation and poor execution. It is too bad because the service was very good and the food would have been fine with a little more attention. We likely won’t be back.

Best wings — awesome drink specials — darts and bar games for days. I love the little plaza it’s in and I love the old time«cheers» bar feel to it. I have always had such a good time at Jack’s place and they actually have really amazing happy hour specials. I think this little place is SO underrated in buffalo! I love it here and the bartenders are so nice and hospitable. I’d recommend anyone go here. Food’s awesommmmmmme..

We got the blue Burger with out Cajun seasoning that came with crinkle cut fries… my husband really like it. My son got the ribs which he also liked. I ordered the chicken sandwich that came with sauteed spinach, roasted red pepper, and i believe it was provolone cheese. …the bun underneath was really saturated… not sure why… it was like the chicken had been sitting in a pool of water. I substituted the side of chips for a vegetable medley which was grossly over buttered. I would think if a person was subing and unhealthy side for a healthier choice you would cut back on it. sure… it tasted good for a second… but it became over powering. and perhaps its all pre prepped that way? Then perhaps mention it to the customer? Over all our waitress was very friendly… and on top of our refills… which is always what you want. she got the check prompt as well. Thanks for not randomly disappearing :) This is more a bar/restaurant to me than the other way around. Food not bad but not amazing. i could see it being a place neighbors would check out.

Nothing impressive. Not a great happy hour. The food is ho hum. I can make a better meal at home. Save your money. Let the UB students eat here and find a real burger spot.

The ribs are excellent! I’ve eaten them at least a half dozen times in the past few months and have never been disappointed. The service is very good, too.

Skip Duff’s and Anchor Bar and head to Jack’s Place for Buffalo’s best wings! I live in Virginia now and I’ve been craving Jack’s Place wings for two years. I just took a trip up to Buffalo, and guess what? The wings are just as good as I remember. They use thick juicy wings and slather on the sauce. My favorite is the BBQ with ranch sauce. The staff are friendly, there is a cool arcade, and it has all the comforts of you local neighborhood«just the right amount of divey» bar. I enjoyed so many good times here — everything from a late night drink to a going away party to the after after party at my friend’s wedding. Just left Buffalo and I miss it already!

Yum, Yum, Yum :) Great little local haunt! We were starving and looking for a quick bite before heading to the hotel and I got on Unilocal and it came to the rescue! The reuben sandwich was fantastic. One of the best I have had. The club was also very good. The best part though was the stuffed sweet peppers. So tasty. I could have had three orders of these for my meal! Server was very friendly and fast. Atmosphere was great. This is the place to stop if you are heading from the airport into Niagra Falls area.

I’m really torn about how to review this place… another one of those times I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The good: — The food! I’ve never had a bad dish and everything is fresh and cooked properly. — The prices… not only is it very inexpensive for fresh ingredients, but they have coupons and discounts galore — The bar. Spacious and able to accommodate those hotel parties that spill out into the night from across the street The bad: — The service is touch and go — The location — at the end of a strip plaza that caters to college students(although you’ll rarely find them there) — is not too inviting and keeps me from inviting people there, along with… The ugly: — quite literally, the restaurant itself. It looks like a place straight out of the freaks & geeks set, but not in a cool retro way, just in a «wow people totally used to smoke in here» way. All in all, 3 stars instead of 4 because there’s lots of places with similarly good food but a better atmosphere :/

We split an assorted appetizer dish. Food was fantastic and the blue cheese was amazing. The service was the worst I’d ever experienced. Two minutes after taking our order she came back to the table to take it again. After we told her we’d already given it to her she stood there to process it then said oh yeah. She went up to the bar poured herself a drink and stood there drinking it while we still had not gotten ours. We had to go up there and when she saw us she said the bathroom is that way. We told her we were there for our drinks. Took her a moment to even remember. When our food came out we asked for sour cream and got blue cheese. When a member of our group took his cup to her to ask for a refill of water she gave him a coke. She gave the party at the table across from us the wrong bill. She never came over to check on us. They weren’t even busy it was our table of four and two other tables of two. I’d say go for the food big if your server is Susie leave and go somewhere else. It’s not worth it.

Tastes pre-fab like a chain. Probably wouldn’t go back. Too many other good places around. Wouldn’t waste my time here.

We enjoyed dinner at Jack’s Place for Father’s Day. Quiet atmosphere for a late afternoon Sunday dinner. My husband ordered the sirloin tenderloin and enjoyed every bite. His plate came with baked potatoe and sour crème and steamed fresh vegetables and also a mixed greens salad and fresh baked rolls. I felt like eating light, so I ordered the turkey club sandwich and it was delicious. The waitress was very pleasant and very efficient. Jack’s Place is a sports bar and TV’s are mounted on the walls, so my husband was able to watch the US Open Golf Tournament which made for Father’s Day enjoyment.

I’m a fan. Great place to stop off for a beer and some wings to catch the game. In a bizarre-o strip mall near the UB campus, it doesn’t really attract the attention of the students. Crowd is more post-hockey pepsi center crowd, so if you like hot hockey guys… mmmm…come here.

I visited the Buffalo area a couple of times last year, and the wings at Jack’s were my favorite by far. It wasn’t a huge bar crowd, but I actually prefer that in a way. Great place for a beer and wings, a football game, and a conversation you can actually hear.

this is your neighborhood bar/restaurant. It’s part sport bar part mom and pop diner. It’s open late — 4am as the crowd seems to hang out. It’s down the street from Univ of Buffalo but for some reason it doesn’t attract the student body. Wings are servered until 1am. First we’ll start with the wings. Yes only in Buffalo can you get them cooked the correct way. Don’t expect it to be quick but worth the wait. Medium was easy to handle as well as the hot for me. Cooked until tender and not oily. Sauce wasn’t dripping off your fingers either. I had them twice. Portions of food is good and the menu selection is nice. Drink prices. Jack and Coke $ 3.75 Grey Goose and tonic $ 4.75 and pour was a little on the heavy side. Neighborhood. Watching a high school game on the large LCD screen with big college games on the tiny tv’s had me confused. Well to my surprise. The coachs of the team we were watching win a NY state football championship earlier on the LCD showed up with family and friends for a celebration. What had planned to be a night of turning in early. Turned into chatting football with a few good people.
