I like Mister Goodbar because anything goes. I can come in dressed in sweats and not feel out of place because I feel like it’s a judgment free zone with cool people and cool bartenders and it’s always nice to have a place like that in the neighborhood. They have dartboards and pool tables, plenty of seating and lots of televisions. It’s divey, I mean don’t expect to be wowed with elegance here because it’s not that kind of place. The drinks are inexpensive and the bartenders in my experience have been nothing but attentive and nice. Good place to go on a random week night.

Love uncle Jerry’s comedy attic on Thursdays! The hosts are great the comedy is great and the people are fun to be around. The upstairs bartender is really fun and nice and super helpful!

A dive bar with a solid tap and draft selection. Sometimes you can get some wings and other fried jazz to soak up the bubbles. Word to the wise get the draft card if you want to hang out often. Outdoor patio is gritty but it gets the job done.

This is a dive bar that I knew existed for a long time, and yet just haven’t been to at all. Now that I am not living here in Buffalo anymore, I finally get the chance to visit it with a few friends.
There is a person that checks your ID at the door.
Their beer on tap selection is massive. But their liquor is also quite comprehensive.
There are plenty of TV sets displaying sports events. There are also plenty of pool tables where one can play on.
Overall, it’s a dive bar. Nothing special. The bathrooms are dirty. Good thing I didn’t have diarrhea and therefore I only used it standing up.

Until yesterday, I had only been to Goodbar on Friday or Saturdays, usually late at night to see bands. But this was a Sunday and I went reluctantly after my friends suggested it. Mister Goodbar undoubtedly has one of the best beer selections in Buffalo. I was delighted to see «White Thai» from the Westbrook Brewing Company in one of the fridges yesterday– a beer I had enjoyed only once before and have been dreaming about since. I noticed several drafts, bottles and cans I hadn’t tried before which is always refreshing.
I’ve always known that it takes a certain kind of person to be a Sunday afternoon drinker and that Buffalo is disproportionately full of that kind; now I know where they’ve been hiding! Goodbar has perfected being an establishment for shooting pool, playing darts and enjoying great beer in the afternoon. It’s still a pretty big Buff State and Elmwood bro destination at night, but hey– can’t win ‘em all.

It’s a straight up DIVE BAR. If you don’t like those hole-​in-​the-​wall places, this place probably isn’t for you. Nay, this place DEFINITELY isn’t for you.
Super relaxed, college atmosphere, cheap drinks and pretty decent food. They have a good beer selection. Normally that’d be a 3-​star in my books but the bartenders are too damn cool so this gets a 4 star.
On a weekend, you’ll find all kinds of crowd — from the middle aged to the freshers to the regular, drunk and loud college kids.

Mr. Goodbar is my go to place for a drink. It’s always a fun time that supports all crowds. The décor is minimal, but fitting, with enough pool tables and dart boards to keep parties entertained and live music most evenings. The place is amazingly versatile and I’ll find any excuse to be there. I’ve gone for simple meet-​ups during the day time and gone for serious drinking celebrations to the early morning. Their beer selection is a huge draw. They’ve got a constantly changing beer menu with beers from all over the world. The bartenders are fun and knowledgeable and, best of all, attentive! After a couple drinks they’re your best friend. So, whether it’s 2am and you’re looking to continue a party or it’s 5:30 and you’re looking to relax after work go here.

If you think you’re too classy for Goodbar, you’re probably not. Okay, so it kind of smells weird and sometimes the amount of children makes you feel like you are living in some god forsaken undergraduate flashback dream BUT the beer selection is excellent, the corn dogs are TOP FREAKING NOTCH (don’t judge, where else ya gonna get a corn dog in these parts?) and the bartenders won’t ignore you. I don’t know what some of these reviews are going on about, the lady bartender doesn’t ignore women and the bouncer’s job is to look like he’s going to kick your ass. Given the amount of nonsense that went on at Mangoz over the summer and the lack of nonsense at Goodbar, I would say they do a fine job.
Also! You are totally welcome bring in any food they don’t serve and eat it there. Haven’t you always wanted to order Chinese food to a bar? I know you have!

NIGHTLIFE REVIEW:
I love Mister Goodbar. Sometimes the bouncers are super nice, sometimes they are super tough and like to give you a hard time at the door. The female bartender won’t even look your way if you’re a girl as she’s most likely distracted by a group of underage college boys. Good time though. Darts, pool, lots of laughs. The crowd is usually older (and by older I mean of age), and free of annoying college freshmen, there are always exceptions though.

I’ve been going to Mister Goodbar since I moved up to Buffalo and it has become my favorite bar hands down.
Whether it’s going out with my friends on a Friday/​Saturday night or going to get wings randomly during the week, from the bouncers to the bartenders, the staff is always friendly and awesome. They are attentive, friendly, quick and know their beer.
The greatest bartender there has to be Marty! He’s always a blast behind the bar, very friendly and is the life of the party! Hands down just the best guy.
Mister Goodbar is the best local bar around has great specials and a friendly staff.

Probably has the best staff in Buffalo. Bartenders are ALWAYS friendly and engaging. Security staff as well. No matter who is behind the bar when I am there, I am always impressed. It is difficult sometimes at a busy bar like that filled with a younger crowd, but the bartenders are always polite and helpful. Very knowledgeable about the beers on tap and seem to be excited to share their knowledge if you’re having a difficult time deciding what to drink. I would definitely recommend this bar to watch football at on Sundays.

This is the single worst bar in the United States of America. Bars in third-​world nightmares like Tanzania and Kenya are probably cleaner than the floors at this stuck-​in-​the-​70s, rotting Buffalo dustbin. If you ignore the warnings and go to this «bar» on a Friday night, you’ll realize what a clusterdoink mess it is.
This bar needs a few things… let’s run through the list: (1) Pine Sol (2) new staff (3) More Pine Sol (4) new management (5) real bartenders, not ECC-​dropouts living in mom’s basement (6) lighting…

Mister Goodbar has always been the standard for all other dive bars to live up to. They have an above average beer list, pool, darts and the area is generally clean. I’ve been coming to this favorite for over eight years and I can honestly say that the beer list and atmosphere have consistently been getting better over time.
The bartenders are usually friendly and quick, and it isn’t usually that crowded. One downside is the trough in the men’s bathroom, I can’t stand those things, kind of cheapens the bar a little. No sword fights please.

I love Goodbar! They have a fantastic craft beer selection. Yesterday they were having a CBW party with 6 CBW beers on tap. The bartenders are nice, and I really like that they have a little punch card of buy 10 pints, get 1 free! They have pretty standard fried food selections, but if you go on Fridays around 6, it’s all free. Other than that, you really don’t go for the food.
The bar itself is big. They have 1 pool table for any billiards fans, but it has a lot of space for groups to hang out. The upstairs is pretty nice… I’ve been there for a comedy show before and really enjoyed it. This is definitely one of my favorite EV bars for sure!

Not sure what those guys were talking about Goodbar staff being rude and trying to rip them off. Every time I’ve been there, the staff is really friendly. Marty, Mike, Bobby all say hello when I’m there on Tuesdays.
Anyhow, the food is delicious, reasonably priced and the beer selection is awesome. Getting a keg of Hopslam? Unbelievable!
Darts are cheap, there are a ton of boards. The music selection is sometime suspect, but when it’s on, it’s on.

One of the most relaxed bars in Buffalo. It is a big Buffalo State College bar, but you can meet up with a group of friends and have some amazing beers. All the bartenders are friendly and quick on their feet and can make great recommendations. They have live bands often and comedy upstairs. Patio in the front, pool tables, and some dart boards. Do not worry about what you are wearing, you can go in dressed right after work from the office or just getting done working on your car. They also have the best wings in Buffalo, no Anchor bar and Duffs do not!

I’ve been to this place a couple times, which is saying a lot since I Iive in Georgia. At any rate, these wings are SOOO GOOD. And I am not a wing person, so, once again: saying a lot. I’ve had the Chili Lime and Sweet Chili, as well as the Teriyaki. The Sweet Chili was my favorite, but the Chili Lime was also very good.
According to my friend (the one who lives in Buffalo and frequents this bar at any hour), the taste of the wings depends on who is cooking that night. And that night, we had a good cook, so the wings proved to blow up my expectations of wings.
The atmosphere of the place is super divey. Smokey, dark, usually pretty busy. Kind of comfy, and very much the kind of place a lot of locals go to. It has that kind of vibe that almost everyone knows each other, so when you settle in, you feel right at home.
