Stein Mart

Stein Mart is good if you are an older women with money. Don’t expect to find much in the way of home goods if you are on a budget. Their bedding section is pretty voluminous, but the prices aren’t great. You can find the same products at Home Goods for at least 20% cheaper than you’ll find here. Even their clearance section isn’t anything special. They have wine and beer glasses, cute little decorative pieces for your home, clocks, picture frames, funny napkins, coasters, etc but again, not the right price. They have a small section of chairs, wall hangings and minimal furniture, again prices a little inflated in my opinion for the quality. Their clothing section is tailored for a woman 40 plus, just what I think! My Grandma shops here, that’s all I’m saying. Same goes for the jewelry, I think I’ll appreciate it more when I am much older. Their handbags are OK, they have some that go on sale but they’re not great. In general, I’ll come here twice a year thinking I’m going to find something great and every time I come in I remember that it’s not my style and a little too expensive; needless to say I walk out empty handed and underwhelmed. Can’t knock a star off just because I’m 25 with a tight budget though… so 3 it is.

Be prepared to a) dig through a ton of racks to find something good and b) bring your coupons! Okay, let’s backtrack. I am not a coupon shopper, but after experiencing the joys of finding something 50% off on the red dot racks IF you have a coupon, I understand the importance of this pre planning.
I got a wicked bathing suit for $ 14, a cute summer dress for $ 15, a blouse for $ 9, and a new quilt for $ 25. You can’t go wrong with prices like that. But again, you have to be willing to wade through a lot of fashion disasters to find a real treasure.

There are oodles of things in this store that are okay. Jewelry, clothes, shoes, even housewares are a bit eclectic but not terrible. Their plus-​size ladies section contains mostly old lady fashions but occasionally I’ve found a few things worth purchasing. They have coupons in the paper on occasion or you can seek them out online. Overall a decent place to find a wide range of items.
