See, I have these kinda stubby fat fingers. Add I’m a myopic old dude to that and you have someone who does not get jazzed on texting. After being on Nextel née Sprint 15 years(I was in real estate development so needed clink! clink! radio), I decided to reduce my bloated phone bill and simplify my life. I checked out the other prepaids and ended up at Metro PCS. My phone is a Kyocera. It has no camera. It has no internet connections. It just rings when someone calls me, which averages 3 times a day, and reaches out when I call someone, which averages 4 times a day. For forty bucks a month and no contract I have exactly what I want and need. When I bought it here($ 29.95), the clerk was prompt, transferred my contacts from my old phone, and I was out the door within 30 minutes. Now for the HUGE plus: when I go fishing in south or north Georgia or around Homosassa and Micco, Florida, there is no signal. Sorry, I didn’t get your call…

If you talk on the phone a lot or only have cash, then METROPCS is a great option. However, don’t expect customer service to be a part of the offerring… or Quality Phones for that matter. I routinely need to purchase a new phone every 2 years and the staff at this location is anything but helpful. I suppose that’s why the turnover rate is so high, but it really feels like they are doing you a favor by assisting you. The insurance is a joke. Regular wear on a phone will typically void the insurance, and a one year warranty is hardly enough with the junk that vendors are putting out. Motorola for instance, released a slew of Razrs with a known connection problem that caused a white screen to appear after a while. Although this is a known problem, they won’t do anything if it’s after a year.
