Professional and Fast service!
Recently purchased some jewelry with gemstones while on vacation. I was a little worried we had gotten scammed and was sold colored glass. I contacted the American Gem Society for certified appraisers and was given Altobelli Jewelers. Cos was very quick to return my calls and get me an appointment. He appraised and had my jewelry back to me in 3 days! I was given good news and a professional report, of each item I had appraised, in a nice plastic sleeve for my records.
Cos a a very polite gentleman and I’d recommend him to anyone needing appraisals, cleaning or custom work/​repairs on all jewelry.

This review is so overdue! I love the earrings Cos made for me. They were exactly what I described and very reasonably priced. My sister loved them so much that he made a pair for her! I now send many of my own clients to Cos for appraisal, repair or remakes. He’s a master if not THE master in LA (Just pull up his You Tube with Diane Sawyer!) Cos is the consummate professional; trustworthy and honest. I’d trust him with any and all jewelry concerns.

My fiancé and I took her engagement ring in to Cos to get it resized and buffed to get out a few small dimples out. Cos noted it was a very nice diamond. It took a week to get it resized and buffed; he sends it out to his professionals.
Cos has impeccable integrity, an impressive professional jeweler history, and is kind. I highly recommend him.
Not to mention he was on Diane Sawyers show as a professional witness to catch diamond scam artists/​jewelers.
I don’t trust many people in business but he’s one guy I do trust.

Went to Altobelli’s to have a stainless steel watch band reduced in size to fit my wrist. Mr. Altobelli («Cos») did a splendid job on a difficult watch to remove bracelet links from. The building is nice (with a coffee house on the street level), his office is nice, clean and neat. Mr. Altobelli is a very nice and professional gentleman. He is honest, kind and very competent. And you can go across the street afterwards (or before) to world-​famous Bob’s Big Boy for a breakfast or lunch as his office is in Toluca Lake with other eateries as well. Keep in mind Altobelli’s is open from around 9:00 to 2:30 and I’d recommend calling ahead just to let Cos know you intend to show up so as not to bump into another person who may be having work done or appraisals performed at the same time. I will definitely return to have my other watches worked on and highly recommend Altobelli’s.

His business not only Appraises —
He also repairs jewelry and watches, in addition to designs and redesigns personal jewelry.
Regarding Appraisals — you can call ahead of time to ask his rates for appraising jewelry you already have. This is especially recommended if you intend to sell it on E-​Bay. He tells you the honest to goodness truth.
THE LOCATION —
8 – 10 foot doors painted in white on the side of the building just to the right of the entrance to Priscilla’s — right where Priscilla’s tables end, before you enter the parking lot at the back. Once you enter the building through these doors you’ll see beautifully lacquered floors and a Directory. He’s up the lacquered wooden stairs down the hall in room 210. I felt like I was entering the Wardrobe in THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE … Total class act of a building.
THE PARKING —
Priscilla’s can get really busy, but that space behind the building IS allocated for this jewelry store and fellow companies w/​in that building (and not for coffee people during the day). If you can’t find parking in that little private lot at the back — there is street parking. Don’t go during lunch; it will be near impossible to find a space.
MY STORY —
I was given a beautiful bracelet as an investment from a family member, and decided to bring it in to get appraised. Mr. Altobelli was direct — yes it was gold and they were diamonds — but honest — the diamonds are good (not bad /​not excellent) — and educational. I asked him all sorts of questions (what is this little lettering here and why can’t I see the 14 Kt stamp and. and.) all of which he answered and pointed out.
A + + in my books.
Oh — and he has an A+ on the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Make an appointment before you go. I drove all the way from Irvine and was not at all disappointed.
