I used to come here, now they changed ownership. Food tastes a little different but still good. I love their bbq fried rice, orange chicken, wonton soup and salted and pepper shrimp. Will come back again!

I have to give this a three because every leaf and veggie had dirt on it. If you don’t wash leaves correctly you will see the dirt. It’s in the photo as well. Service is good and food is tasty but attention to detail is important.

Got their lunch special: 3 Delights, which is beef, shrimp, and pork with brocolli, snow peas, and mushrooms. The lunch also came with fried rice/rice rice and I chose the hot and sour soup. Overall — the lunch was ok. Nothing spectacular but it was not bad. One comment I did make to them was that my broccoli was very bitter, to the point that I could not eat at least half of the broccoli from the dish. I told the waitress and she said it might have been undercooked and walked away. uhh.ok. thanks for your great understanding.

Just an FYI. U can’t sit there to eat if u only want soup. Minimum to sit and eat there is $ 6.

Started off my meal with egg flower soup. Also, tried new item today. The chicken chow mein. I asked for it to be made spicy. Loved it like all the other items I have had. They even gave me extra grounded hot pepper oil to take with my leftovers. Can’t wait to be hungry again to come back.

I’LLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN!!! The owner is extremely rude and offensive. He was mad because I ordered to go, then decided to eat in. Customer Service is very lacking. What he failed to understand is that I was a repeat customer. Instead if being rude, he should have had a conversation with me about how he felt. It wasn’t a problem so much with the food, it was him!!!

I’ve visited this cozy little spot three times now and I can’t find anything to complain about! Wow! That sentence was extremely«first world problems!» The food is absolutely delicious. The variety is awesome, the flavors are spiced wonderfully and balanced really well. The meats have a wonderful crispy cooked texture; it’s never soggy or dry. The Orange chicken is tangy and delightful. General Tso chicken is always a win. It’s very important to note they bring out crispy wonton strips before you order. They are highly addictive and wonderful. They also bring out sweet and sour sauce for your dipping pleasure… Please don’t quote me on that out of context. It’s also important to talk about how amazing their lunch specials are. This lunch special is no joke! You’ll save a lot and satiate your hunger completely. You get soup beforehand and a large tray of food. It’s a very ‘too good to be true’ deal. But it’s real. It’s a huge meal. For a steal… My car is teal. I live just a block away so I walk, but there’s a small parking lot as it’s located in a strip mall. It doesn’t look too pretty on the outside, but if you’re just looking for some great Americanized Chinese food. Look no further. «Look no further.» I just realized what bad life advice that is.

I have been going here for at least 25 years and have found their food to be consistently good. I really love their mu shu pork or chicken with a plumb sauce spread over a thin chines pancake or their Kung Pao chicken. And when I have it delivered, even though you usually expect it to take 30 minutes, it is always a surprise when it arrives much sooner.

Great Wok used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. I’ve been eating here since I moved to LA in ’96. It got to the point that when my my ex-husband and I would go in, they asked if we wanted our usual. Well my marriage didn’t last but my love for Great Wok did. Over the years I’ve taken dozens of friends to Great Wok and everyone has loved it. About a month or so ago I went in and noticed all new faces. I found out that the previous owner had retired and it was under new management. I was very saddened to hear this because the previous owner and his crew were so nice and treated me like family. (Nu) Great Wok is very close to me so I wanted to give it a chance. I’ve given it several chances in fact, going back to sample various dishes to do a complete comparison. The food has definitely changed quite a bit and initially I was very disappointed but although it’s different, it isn’t bad. I don’t get the same cozy familiar feeling when I walk into(Nu) Great Wok for the lunch special or to pick up my to go order nor is my food as satisfying but I’m hoping in time it will grow on me and I’ll love it almost as much as the original Great Wok

The rude service is one thing, but unsanitary food is another. After eating here, I had the worst bout of food poisoning I’ve ever encountered. About halfway through my meal, my stomach began churning something fierce and I couldn’t finish the order. What followed was an entire bed-ridden night of sweating, pounding headaches, a fever and intense nausea. After several sessions of vomiting the sole thing I had eaten(Great Wok), I finally managed to get the last of it out of my system and the healing immediately began. It was literally like a switch being flipped – from horrible to relief as soon as the last piece of chicken was voided from my stomach. I have a steel stomach, but it can’t contend with rotten meat/unhygienic food that had no business being served anywhere but a trashcan. Never again, Great Wok… Never again.

Ok, so let me start off by saying that I don’t usually write this long of a review. This is an establishment that I had been to before so I was really surprised when I received this type of customer service. I called the restaurant for delivery and I was speaking to a man on the other line and he was very rude. I placed two different orders and made sure to take my time placing them so that there would be no confusion, I also repeated my order two more times. There was really no point in me doing so because when I asked for the price total the guy on the other line gave me two numbers that were completely off from my calculations, he also read my order back to me wrong. I know that when you are ordering food over the phone there may be some confusion but after I repeated my order three more times I became frustrated because he kept reading it back to me wrong and then proceeded to talk rudely to me. He was telling me that I was wrong, that I could just look their menu up online and call back when I knew what I wanted, that I could come into the establishment and order that way because my delivery orders were incorrect, and then he told me that I needed to get my order straight and read it to him the right way next time I called! I have been to quite a few restaurants and I have NEVER received this type of customer service in person or on the phone. Thats why I wrote this on Unilocal,so that other potential clients would see that maybe they should avoid calling in for delivery. I was completely astounded by how rude this man was. My only tip to Great Wok would be to change the person who is answering the phone as soon as possible.(The food was great though!)

Worst customer service. If you want to be insulted and yet pay your money for it, then go there

This place was my go to Chinese food place!!! With the new management this place has gone down hill they should change the name if they were going to change the menu so much. I’m very sad that the food quality is poor and the prices went up.

Unfortunately new management took over, so the recipes aren’t the same and not as delicious. Such a disappointment.

I was excited to eat here since i hadn’t been here in a while. I hate to say I don’t think I’ll go back. Seems like ownership has changed, and although the menu stayed the same, the food has changed as well. Didn’t taste as good. I didn’t eat half of my chicken because it was like rubber. 2 stars for their quick and friendly service.

Upon walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by the restaurant’s servers who seem very polite and friendly. The menu is pretty full with lots of different dishes/options but I ended up trying the combination fried rice, broccoli beef and vegetable egg rolls. The portions are fairly large; these three dishes were plenty for two people. The broccoli beef was overall a very flavorful dish. The meat was very tender! The vegetable egg rolls were fried perfectly and made great appetizers. Overall the food was very good! The service is quick and the servers are friendly. They never fail to check up on your table to see how you’re doing. Decent Chinese food for the Burbank area!

This food is terrible. I just received my delivery. Hot & sour soup — It was not hot, nor was is sour. The only thing good are the lacy bits of egg. Temperature-wise it’s perfect but it is so bland. Orange shrimp — the’re is a very thin coating of something on the outside of the shrimp and the scallions are nice, but the sauce doesn’t have the zing I’m looking for House chow fun — There just isn’t any flavor here! The noodles are cooked fine and everything and there’s but it’s just really blah. did they run out of seasoning? What’s going on? I can’t remember the last time I had Chinese food this bad. I should have just gone to panda and ordered some crack chicken. It would have been ¼ of the price. I gave two stars because the delivery person was very nice and the service was very fast.

The Service: Fantastic! Owner is always in the restaurant, making sure the food & service are good. Service is fast and attentive. The Food: House Chow Fun — Stir-fried chicken, beef, shrimp, and vegetables w/flat rice noodles. Big portion, perfect to share. Love the flat rice noodles. Lots ingredients. Yang Chow Fried Rice — Mixed with chicken beef, shrimp & vegetables. Lots of rice, wish there are more vegetables. General Tso Chicken — Chicken are very tender. Not too much sauce. Shrimp in Lobster Sauce — Fresh shrimp blended with water chestnuts, mushrooms, green peas, carrots & whipped eggs in special lobster sauce. Lots of big shrimps, very flavorful! The Parking: Plaza parking(free)
