I’ve been a patron here since I first moved to Burbank 5+ years ago and working up the street from this place and discovering it has been a real treat. Great place good live Music on most nights, and my favorite bartender is definitely Rachel. She’s very attentive and has amazing customer service. The kitchen has great bar and grill good as well. On other days/nights bartenders like Joey, Toni, and Liz definitely keep Joes one of the best bars in the Burbank/North Hollywood area Hands down one of my favorite places in Burbank!

As a dancer at Joe’s Monday nights, you are a burden to the establishment. I’ve been coming here with my friends every other Mon. for the past 4 months, and though the music is always amazing and the environment is great, the negative aspects of their service have finally turned me off. I can’t rationalize it away anymore! — The waitress is illusive, does the bare minimum for you, and seems to hate doing it. — They have inconsistent rules on minimum orders and payment methods, among other things. — They guilt you into doing the most convenient thing for them. — You can be a regular who is flexible to their rules, but they will still be cold to you and chastise you for ridiculous things. There’s something wrong when you find yourself in full-on conflict resolution mode with the staff over basic customer service. Water bottles aren’t allowed. We get thirsty dancing. But there’s no guarantee that after your first drink order the waitress will ever come back. So I’ve learned to go to the bar to get what I want promptly. After ordering food and drinks long ago at the table I found myself in this situation again, and my friends are thirsty too, so I go to the bar and ask for water for my table. The bartender asks if I ordered anything, because apparently water isn’t a free courtesy anymore. He doesn’t believe me when I say my table ordered things. He asks me what we ordered. I start listing things off. He still doesn’t believe me. By this time things are just getting hilarious because here I am rigorously defending myself when it would have taken him less effort to just get 3 waters. He says he has to check my validity with the [ghost] waitress. But he’s still standing there like he’s expecting me to do something — so I’m extremely uncomfortable, asking, «what do you want me to do?!!». He told me to swear I was telling the truth. I swore. I was half expecting him to make me pinky swear next. He finallyyyy got us some waters. Hahah This wasn’t the first time — Once I took back a beer because the orange slice on the rim looked fine but tasted rotten, and it made the whole beer taste bad. So I took it back to replace it with another, but not without a confusing, unusually long dialogue with the bartender. He wasn’t doing anything for me or giving me any answers. I had to finally just pause and ask for clarity–«What do you want me to do to fix this?!!» Why is it so hard to ask for simple things here? Joe’s, give us some respect!

If it wasn’t for the horrible server I would give this place 5 stars and would go back all the time. After an enjoyable night with great music and decent food/drinks, our bill came out to about a hundred and some change. I put 5 $ 20 bills plus the change, the waitress took the money, then came back about 15min later telling me that I only gave her 4 $ 20’s. I KNOW100% I gave her 5. But I wasn’t about to fight with the idiot. The managers should consider getting rid of the bitch because they lost a few good customers for her $ 20.

Joey, the nighttime bartender is the rudest person I have ever met. Never in my life have I met a bartender that was allowed to keep his job after being as consistently abusive and rude to the paying customers as Joey is. I complained to the owner, and Joey’s abusive behavior continued unabated, with no intervention whatsoever. Many of the people that enjoy the bar in the afternoon leave when Joey comes in.

So I recently rekindled my romance with Salsa Dancing… and my awesome instructor invited me to practice my baby salsa steps here. I was so confused by the name of the venue, that I thought he was pranking me. Well, he wasn’t. On Wednesday nights they have a live salsa band called Afro-Son that is fantastic!(Check the marquee to be certain they are playing). Now this place is not the Grenada or Steven’s…its just a small local restaurant with a dance floor and patrons that actually want to dance. Now, these patrons are all ages and all skill levels, which makes this a great place to practice. It is not stuffy or cliquey or intimidating. You just show up with an open mind and your dancing shoes and you have a blast. The music is great, the bartenders are nice and parking is super easy. If you wanna polish up your moves and have some fun, come to Joe’s!

Terrible server. Checked our party of 4 for IDs, and told one of my friends«You’re not 21. My boss says the cutoff is 1994 and your ID says 1990». My friend was like, «Yes, I’m not twenty-one. I’m TWENTYFIVE.» She still had to check with her boss though. Served coffee in a cup that had stains and lip marks all over. Also removed my other friend’s half-finished pitcher and glass from our table for no apparent reason. Never paid attention to us throughout the evening. Each time we needed our server I had to get up and go find her. What a pity, because the band on stage, The Deep Cuts, was incredible.

The food was good, when we finally got it, the place was packed, because they had a really good jazz band that night, but only one waitress and one bartender, that’s all they had it took for ever to get a drink oh and to get food way over an hour to get

Friendly place to hang out, have a reasonably priced drink(quite potent), play pool and listen to live music. Great a/c too! It’s small enough that everyone knows each other or if you’re new they make you feel welcome.

First time here at this place. Opening day for football & not a bad place at all. Place is clean, people are friendly, spacious, parking in the back… what else can you ask for? Oh yes the drinks. The bartender Ray(Rachael) is amazing!!! Recommend this place. Will come back for sure. :)

Awesome sports bar!!! Came to the valley looking for a good place to catch a football game on the NFL’S season opener; some were too busy and others too quaint. Anyways, this place is cool. Noce, clean, large screens playing my game, and the drinks were the best I’ve had. Props to the bartender, Rachel.

Live music, dance floor, Christmas light decorations– how could you go wrong here. First time here and all I can say the group of people in this joint are interesting– everything from biker gangs to some elderly folk to random youngsters. So much wood all around, totally country bar kind of feel. My cousin comes here for country music bands all the time and loves it. I came to see orchestra Charangoa– an amazing Latin music band that just happened to be playing here. Totally random– not sure what they were doing here but I’m glad I came and got to check this place out. It’s super chill and a fun place to come hang out and dance without worrying about trying to impress anyone. Overall good experience– and the bar tender I encountered was nice– in contrary to other people’s reviews. not sure If it’s the same guy everyone is talking about but it was all gold for me.

Well, I’d really love to give this place a better rating, and I would if they’d get rid of those horribly obnoxious bartenders and started treating customers who go infrequently better than roadkill. The drinks are priced about average $ 5 for a bottle of Bud, but you may die of thirst waiting for it. I don’t understand how these bartenders keep their jobs here! Wait time before one of them does you the grand favor of taking your order is 10 minutes, REGARDLESS if they’re busy. With the tons of bars all over Los Angeles, this is seriously an issue the owner should address. Saturday night and the place should have been packed. Nope. Their food rating sign says ‘B’ now, but their service is an ‘F’. Owners, take note. There are too many reviews complaining about your bartenders and customer service to ignore! Bands are always great

I used to hang out in this kind of bar a lot more. I don’t miss them. This one looks like it had some decent food. The drinks were strong enough. The pool table was so-so. The two-man band was interesting and too loud. Undertones of cowboy palace and cigarette smoke. No hand chalk for any serious pool players, no chalk to write your name on the chalkboard to wait for the table so it’s that guaranteed-to-start-a-fight system of lining up your quarters on the edge of the pool table.

Recently went there for my first time. I left within 20 minutes the place is very uninviting to new customers. My bartender Joey paid no attention to me, overall horrible customer service. I left to tequilas, which by the way has much better service. Joes gets a thumbs down from me.

This bar is probably one of the most uncomfortable bars around. Not open to diversity if you know what I mean. The food is mediocre, my dinner tasted as If it was reheated and not cooked. I would never eat here again. The drinks are decent, I stuck to beer to be safe on account of the bad food. The bartender by the name of Joey was very disrespectful and barely paid attention to me, when he finally did he was very rude and his comments was borderline harassment. Before, I got a chance to leave I witnessed the same bartender put his hands on a Latin customer who hadn’t been drinking. Because of this bartender I will NEVER step foot in that place again. I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDTHISBARTOANYONE. The employees obviously know nothing about customer service. The owner seemed afraid of his employees. This place flat out sucked. I would honestly not be surprised if this bartender got fired because of his intolerable and inexcusable actions, customer service here is horrible. Save yourself the headache and go across the street.

This place is awesome! I’ve been coming on for years and the energy, live music, food, drinks and service are always wonderful! Last night I came back and they were celebrating their anniversary with live music at 9. My girlfriend and I didn’t stay for that, but we did have a nice dinner and drinks. I ordered a cheeseburger with steak fries and my girlfriend ordered a Cobb salad with no cheese or dressing an avocado for $ 1.50 extra. The kitchen confirmed the ingredients before preparing the salad, which my girlfriend appreciated. She gets allergic reactions from dairy and gluten so she stays away from them. My burger was great, as usual! The meat was thick and full of flavor and I also really like the buns that they use. The steak fries were hot and crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. Both of us ate them all and they were delicious! My girlfriend’s salad was full of meat and other toppings. She tried to finish it, but it was so filling she had to take a to-go box. I finished my plate, though it was also an effort because the burgers here are big! I’m looking forward to playing some pool thr next time I’m in. Their one table was being used the whole time we were there last night. I’m also looking forward to seeing some more live music there when I get a chance. They have always had great performers! Thanks for the consistent food quality, the great service and good vibes, Joe’s!

Went to a 60s night at Joes Great Bar and Grill. The pop band The Outta sites were playing. The music was danceable and fun. We had a great time. We had a large group. The waitresses were so nice to let us organize our tables. They took our orders very quickly. I really appreciated the game that Joes put together. We all go a mystery name on a name badge, and then there were clues to win a prize. I was too busy dancing to think about the price. We had a really fun time dancing to fun music.

Our first time here tonight and we loved it! The line dancing was so fun to watch. I can’t wait to learn so I can join in on the fun. The live band was really great! They have a pool table and a bar with all the standards. It’s just a good olé all American country joint. We enjoyed our night hanging out with the locals. We will be back!

It’s unfortunate that I have to hand out this one star. It would be zero if I could. I’m from out of town and my friends are Swing dancers and decided to bring me to Joe’s. We walked in the divey space from the back and it was like being teleported back in time. Right from that moment, a nosey little server asked what we were doing and that the restroom for women wasn’t back there. My friend explained that we were just passing through. «Mind your own business lady.» I wish I’d read the reviews before I went but I didn’t think they’d treat a new face so rudely. I’m on a detox so I’m not drinking alcohol our sweets right now. After being there for an hour, I stopped the afore mentioned server and asked for some water. She said I had to buy two bottles of water right then and there and they don’t offer non bottled water. After going back and forth, I refused to be pursued by her and told her I’ll just order when I’m near my wallet. Now mind you, all the people around me she never once stopped and asked for their bar minimum. She never had good service period. I’ve worked as a concierge at some of the best Resorts in the world so I know good service, and I’m always looking for it. I tipped the band when the bucket came around and eventually made my way back to my seat. Sure enough, little miss nosey comes right up to me and demands I order my drinks now. I said quite frankly that I am not ready to order my drinks and I will not be ordering them from her because she’s abrasive and rude. She demanded I go up to the bar then. When I refused she stated, «wait until I talk to Joey.» I got asked to dance by a gentleman, Leonard, who works for the bar. As I was getting up to dance with him I asked him are their servers usually that rude here or is it an off night? As he starts to explain, the coward gets called over to Joey, the pompous Bartender, to stop talking to me. If your own employees are scared of you, you have a real problem here. After Joey talked to Leonard and sent him on his way, he proceeds to shout at me across the bar and signal for me to come to him. I refused and shouted back that he was rude and I’m from out of town and I will not be harassed by anyone else at this bar. My friend came over to try to defuse the situation knowing that I was new there. If that’s how you’re going to treat new patrons, then I don’t want to be apart of it. It’s unfortunate that Joe has such ugly people working for him and treating his patrons so rudely. I’d love to give them a lesson in five star service then maybe they would have lines of people to get into their bar instead of lines of people walking out. I don’t plan on returning.

This place is adorable! I’ve been in a couple of times with my boyfriend to get drinks and hang out. They have a lot of decorations inside and a huge mural with old movie stars on it that really gives this place a lot of style! They also have a dance floor, a place for bands to play and a pool table, which is great! Although playing pool was fun, it would’ve been more fun if I hadn’t lost all the games to my boyfriend, lol! ;) The live music I saw on St. Patrick’s Day was very upbeat and fun! I do remember there being a very long waiting period from around 7 – 8 that night while we waited for the next band. The place was filling up until the dry spell without music made it thin out, but once the 8PM band went on it really filled up again and got jumping! Joe’s seems to have a lot going on and a lot of history too! It’s definitely a cool hangout spot.
