Great special. Also a really interesting way that they prepare their chile relleno. But it was delicious!

Chavos is now Nacho Mamas. I ordered a asada burrito and asada taco. I would go back if in the area a couple of things to note. I ordered my burrito with extra cheese so i was expecting shredded cheese, They use feta cheese which was a surprise. They also put beans on the taco’s So if don’t want beans on your taco let them know. They are also open real late which was a surprise for Burbank, They stay open until midnight on Friday Saturday. I asked for a to go menu on the way out and they said they haven’t made any yet. Service was friendly and fast

CLOSED. RIP Chavos… never forget. You get 5 stars posthumous from me, and I visited you at least once a week for a year. Then? I go on vaca, come back and you are GONE. For months I held out hope they’d reopen exactly the same(albeit with a new owner), but alas… This place is now Nacho Mama’s and it is NOT Chavos, not in any way, shape of form. The menu is SMALL. Just burritos, tacos, tortas and nachos. And rice and beans. That’s it. Prices are reasonable, but there are better places in the area, so I don’t see myself coming back any time soon. So sad(pours one out for my Chavos-obsessed homies).

Saw the Unilocal reviews so went today to try them at lunch time. They’re CLOSED!!! No sign anywhere so not sure if it’s temporary but if you call the phone number it’s disconnected.

Food: Ordered the 4 street taco special + can of soda(choice of standards: coke, pepsi, sprite, sunkist, dr. pepper, etc) for $ 4.99 Called 30 mins ahead to order since on a time crunch for lunch and it was ready when I got there. Next time I’ll probably call 10 – 15 mins beforehand since it wasn’t as warm as I would like — though they kept it in an oven. Got 2 carnitas and 2 carne asada tacos. I was disappointed my car ride back to work since they looked pretty small. I was pretty hungry and given cans of sodas are usually $ 0.50 or less if you buy them in bulk, I was wondering whether this«special» was worth it after all. After eating them however, I’ve decided it was worth my five bucks. I definitely recommend the carnitas, though I’m a big carne asada fan. It wasn’t bad — but not better than carnitas. The red hot sauce is an excellent addition too! If you’re craving Mexican food but don’t want to stretch your wallet — Los Chavos is here for you. I’m not stuffed, but I’m definitely satisfied. Parking: not a terribly small lot — if not too busy, then parking should be no problem. Restaurant: I would probably do take out more than I would sit in — just not that kind of restaurant. Next item on the menu to try: the breakfast burritos that are raved about in other reviews!

Best place for soft tacos(chicken and carne asada) and the red salsa completes the meal. This place is small so consider take out. Great customer service!

This is my Mexican spot in the valley and I’m so happy I finally found it. Super moist carne asada and they load on the cheese. The big surprise I have to say is in the breakfast burrito. They put in the perfect ratio of cheese/egg/potato. Many places tend to put too much potato but not Los Chavos. Get some salsa in there and you are set. Customer service is top notch as well. The owner is always so sweet. Cheap prices, great food and service, I will be returning whenever I get a hankering. Warning: They’re closed on sundays so you know… don’t go then.

I am always on the search for solid Mexican food with my main focus on the quality of the food. Los Chavos does some things«GREAT» like their Carne Asada Nachos which are an absolute deal for the price it can easily feed 2 or 3people for $ 8. But some things are«only ok» like their Burritos which are often a little bland. I love hot sauce but these burritos need hot sauce to make them tasty. I like their tacos and the hot sauce bar is great. The Horchata, not so much. Stick with the Nachos and you will be happy.

Best chorizo breakfast burrito in LA hands down. Add bacon for added fatty effect!

I love mexican dives… and figured this place would be either amazing, or I’d have to get my stomach pumped. Its amazing!!! Al Pastor is fab… carnitas are great. Fajita burrito is perfect… Their cheese quesadiila is a combo of jack cheese and a tangy mexican cheese… tortilla is grilled and truly unique(your suite awaits you in Cedar Sinai for a quadruple bi-pass after a few of these… but it is AMAZING. GO!!! GOEAT!!!

This place just became part of my food rotation in Burbank. My favorite meat is the carnitas – soft pork that’s almost sweet. All the meats were moist. The tacos overall were decent, although the chicken was a bit too salty for me and the last bite of the al pastor had gristle(the worst). In the future, I’ll likely stick to the carnitas and the carne asada. Notables: the hot salsa has a bit of a kick. Friendly staff. There’s a donut shop right next door.

This place is GREAT, I have been looking for GREAT mexican in Burbank for about 10 years and I found the spot! I tried the bacon breakfast burrito and my buddy got the chorizo… it was so good that we were back in 2 days for another. Today we tried the carnitas and it was out of this world tasty. The meat was tender, the burrito was packed and it was actually 2 very tasty meals. The owner is fun, the food is great and the price is very reasonable… It’s a hit if you ask me. Oh ya — try the homemade salsa and you will be very satisfied.

A few weeks back I was here for a breakfast burrito and said I’d be back, I’m back… to check out their tacos, meat selection is limited to carne asada, carnitas, al pastor and pollo so this is going to be easy, I’ll have the special 4-tacos and 1-can soda $ 4.99. Tacos — I ordered one of each meat. *photos not very good due to poor lighting at night. Carne Asada — Did I mention they have good salsa!, well it’s a good thing because this carne asada is pretty plain tasting, though it is tender. 3-Stars Carnitas — Was my favorite from the four different meats, it was good but… not as flavorful as carnitas should be. 3-Stars Al Pastor — As a big pork fan… this one was disappointing to me, just totally lacking in any flavor of pastor. 2-Stars Pollo(chicken) — Now I like chicken but would not normally order a chicken taco unless the selection of meats are limited, well it tastes like chicken but nothing special. 3-Stars The tacos are just OK and nothing more but they do have some good salsa!

When I was working in Burbank I would come by Los Chavos for lunch quite often. The food is good! The sopes are tasty, great tacos, quesadillas and salsa. The prices are decent and there are lots of lunch specials. I haven’t tried the burritos, but I hear they are good. My favorite tacos here are the carnitas(pork) and the carne asada. My husband and I tried the lengua tacos(beef tongue) but we didn’t like the hot sauce paired with it. Of course, our taste may be different from yours so you should try it for yourself. ;) The guys that work here are very friendly, so don’t be surprised if they joke with you when ordering.

This place is in my close circle of lunch places, and I really like the lengua burrito here(guacamole added). I don’t know what extra stuff they put in there, but my mood and energy goes way up after eating one, and suddenly I’m sporting an erection the rest of the day. They also have a lunch special that include 4 tacos and a soda for 5 bucks.

UPDATEDREVIEW: Okay I went back to order thesame thing… burrito de lengua. There was no Lengua… okay make it a carne asada burrito. Ummm… not good. The meat was really dry with no flavor and they put this weird not so good sauce in the burrito… and again, I thought it was just a fluke in my first review but the rice was hard with the texture of fired rice = old. I like the guy behind the counter, he’s entertaining, but i dont liek the food. I could be biased, I grew up in east L.A. and went to college in San Diego so I already have a clearly formed idea of what Mexican food from a Taco shop should taste like and Los Chavos fails.

Yummy tacos! This is a good place to stop by for a tasty, quick lunch or dinner. Be advised that there are just a few small booths inside and it’s better to take the food to go. I haven’t had a chance to try everything yet but am in love with the tacos(carne asada and chicken) and breakfast burritos! The salsas are very flavorful and range from a mild pico de gallo to a more spicy red sauce. The guys that work behind the counter always have jokes and are in good spirits. Service is relatively quick and the food is cheap. Yay for Los Chavos!

Been here once and it wasn’t even worth writing a review. but this time I must and I owe it to the people of Burbank. DONOTEATHERE. my dear sweet + 1, aka the Boyfriend ordered nacho’s from here on Wednesday afternoon April 21st and had the stomach flu till Sunday the 25th. WTF? I’m even more disgusted by this place.

Walked in and asked the guy behind the counter, «Any recommendations?». He replied, «The whole menu.». Can’t help but agree.

My co-worker and I spend Thursday lunchtimes over at Disney Elementary reading to kiddies and we usually get food to go afterward and bring it back to the office. One particular day I was craving good taco truck-style tacos. Nothing with lettuce or cheese, I wanted real-deal little tacos in corn tortillas with juicy meat, salsa, cilantro and onions. If we had had a little more time, we might’ve made the trek over the hill to Yuca’s, but we couldn’t really be gone on a two hour lunch. So, we headed down Buena Vista in search of a Mexican place near the Empire Center that I remembered had tacos written on their mural. We stopped at an intersection and I noticed«Los Chavos Tacos.» We screeched to a halt and turned in. What a find! For $ 4.61, you get four mini-tacos and a can of soda, and you get to choose from four meats — carne asada, carnitas, al pastor and pollo. I tend to judge tacos on the quality of the carnitas, so I ordered up two carnitas, one carne asada and one al pastor. Each meat is delicious. The carnitas is moist and tender; none of that dry tough stuff here. The carne asada is well-marinated and the al pastor is seasoned really well. I’ve even ventured to the chicken and that was really moist and delicious as well. It’s so nice to find good eats in Burbank. So rare.
