What the heck is MCS BURBANK LLC? I have no idea.
That’s not true; it’s the name printed at the top of the receipt I received from one of Bob Hope Airport’s nondescript restaurants. I looked all around the place for a name, but it wasn’t displayed. I wasn’t worried, though, because I was sure that once I got home I would be able to figure it out by looking at the airport’s website.
Remember when the Internet got really big, like in 1998? Yes, I know millions of geeks were using it as far back as the mid-‘80s, and I had quite a few America Online accounts in 1994. But I’m talking about the late ‘90s, when every major company realized it had to have a website at a fairly easy-​to-​remember URL. And remember when some companies started to put major money into redesigning their websites so that they were (a) really nice looking; (b) easy to use; © or supposedly really nice looking but you’d never know because they included so much JavaScript and so many other huge files that your poor computer on its 56K modem couldn’t download everything fast enough before your computer crashed? It was always fun to look at the sites that were obviously designed by someone who thought frames were a really good idea and who loved animated GIFs. Well, my friends, Bob Hope Airport’s website looks like it probably did in 1996. That’s not a typo. If you don’t believe me, go to

So this restaurant officially has no name. And it’s overpriced. (You already knew that.) They have «fresh» salads, burgers, sandwiches, personal pizzas, fast-​food Italian dishes, and pre-​prepared salads and other stuff in a cooler. The workers here have always been really nice to me, and they get your food out quickly.
I really want to give this place three stars because I LOVE the generic airport eateries, but the food isn’t good. They have breakfast as well, but I’m never flown out of this airport in the early morning, so I’ve never tried this part of their menu.
