Stopped in for lunch. Got the spicy teriyaki plate. Didn’t want rice, substituted extra salad. Charged an extra $ 1.50 for the privilege. Strike 1. Chicken was dry and flavorless. Strike 2. Salads and hot sauce were good. Nothing here to get excited about. Ok at best.

Love this place… But PLSPLSPLS… Just order tomato everyday so you guys have tomato salad every day! I love you, but I don’t go when there’s no tomato salad :(

I ate here last week on a business trip and I will return AGAIN next week. The food was delicious, the portion size was more than enough and the service was friendly and fast. I got the tempura & ca roll, you get two side salads and drink. I paid about $ 12, definitely worth it.

This is more of a complaint about pricing than the food. It’s been a few months since I’ve come here and to my surprise the prices have gone up. Significantly. My usual dish of rainbow rolls went from $ 7.99 to $ 11.99. For those prices I’ll go to a real Japanese restaurant. I think they forgot that they were a fast food establishment. Their food gets 3 stars though.

Picked up some lunch during work from here. Ordered online and the menu is very confusing because it doesn’t let you choose your side salads so you have to write it in the comments. And the 6 piece rolls say they come with salad but don’t. Food was ready quick & very cheap for so much food. Got the Spicy Chicken Plate. Comes with Rice and 2 choice of salad. Oriental and Sumi Salad. Salad was amazing. Would come back.

This is in a strip mall by the Burbank Airport. Just fast sushi. The Fried California Roll was nothing special. The Tiger Roll had real crunchy something inside, which threw off the consistency of the Roll.

I was in the area showing a few properties and decided to get a quick dinner before my clients got to the first address. I remember that this shopping center down Hollywood Way next to the airport had a few restaurants and was excited to see Sansai when I pulled up! First, a lot of parking, a lot of seating, nice restrooms and overall clean, friendly place. I ordered the Spicy Sashimi Salad and it comes with a side of white rice or miso soup but I asked the girl if I could have the veggie noodles instead and she happily agreed. My meal, with a fountain soda, was about $ 14. Perfect! My salad was made fresh and in a little over 5 minutes they called my number. Next time I will ask them to mix the salad for me with the dressing mixed in as then it would be easier to eat :) otherwise nice, healthy, tasty dinner.

I had a craving for some sushi and this spot was walking distance. Not a real restaurant, you order up front. I ordered the tiger roll that costs around $ 10. They put some sort of teriyaki glaze on the roll making it salty. I know this is a fast food sushi spot and all, but I rather add a few more dollars and a get a quality sushi roll.

We come here for quick sushi rolls! Grabbed some today to go alongside our meal from next door. They are always friendly. Larger dining area. Free lot parking is ample. I like their seaweed salad. And teriyaki chicken too. Definitely worth checking out. It’s a great start to first time sushi eaters. It’s not top quality like you would find in the little chic restaurants down on Ventura or Sunset but it’s good quick Japanese/American fusion in a pinch. Try it out!

I was looking for something quick after just getting back from an east coast business trip, and I was craving sushi, so this seemed like just the thing. I placed my order online for pickup and then drove over about 15 minutes later — it appeared that my order had been printed out, but hadn’t been worked on, which led me to believe that most people just call in their orders rather than using the online system. Regardless, the girl working there was very nice and was apologetic about the wait, so I didn’t mind. She even gave me a free drink to compensate for the wait time. I ordered the Rainbow Roll, which comes with 2 salads, but she gave me the option of substituting one salad for Miso Soup, which was awesome! For my salad, I chose the Sumi Salad. The portion sizes were great, for both the soup and salad, and the sushi roll had plenty of fish, which was very fresh. Again, I am not sure if the portion size was normal or was to make up for my wait time, but either way, I was very pleased and would definitely go back.

Quick, easy and delicious! Wasn’t expecting a good quality Japanese food next to the airport in a fast food like setting. Ordered a rainbow roll that comes with two salads and fish was fresh and yummy, rice was perfect. Salads that come with rolls make a perfect meal! A must if you are in the area.

This was my first visit here and I didn’t know what to expect as this place sit in a small strip mall next to the airport. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. They have a large menu from salads, to sushi, to the plate I got which was steak and chicken combo. The food was fresh and the service was good. Will be back.

I really like SanSai for what it is — cheap, fast, and relatively healthy food. They have combo plates of various teriyaki meat with veggies and rice, or a sushi selection(you can also get hand rolls). Obviously no one is expecting Jiro-level quality here but I always found the sushi good enough, especially for the price. Most of the options on the menu are less than $ 10 and come with a good portion of food, especially the meat and rice options. You also get a choice of salad with most orders. I also really like how most of the combo meat plates come with a skewer of grilled veggies. Something that is a little interesting is that the teriyaki sauce is separate from the meat when you get it — you have to put it on yourself kind of like what you would do with ketchup on fries. I think that’s fine because you can control how much you put on, but I was definitely bummed the first time around when I realized I had forgotten to get sauce. The interior is pretty big. It’s never crowded, but I’ve always seen a handful of people ordering here, especially for takeout. The inside is pretty clean and the staff work relatively efficiently.

Lunch on Monday, 5÷11÷15(first time visiting) Walked in and there was no line. The cashiers were ready to take our order as soon as we reached the counter. They were quick in service and knew what they were doing. I ordered the steak teriyaki plate that comes with rice and miso soup. It’s a typical bento box menu item. The food was average. They have a pretty wide selection of items to choose from. I didn’t get to try their sushi so I’m not sure how fresh it would be although they look decent. They have a soda station so you can refill your drink at any time. Tables were abundant as well so you don’t have to worry about finding a seat. It’s a nice place to sit and relax for lunch.

I eat here at least once a week, and the raw fish sushi is of fine quality… don’t believe reviewer’s who say it isn’t. Prep times on rolls that are hand made are very good… takes at most five minutes to get your order, and that’s good considering the place is very popular. If you can’t wait, call in your order, they have never gotten it wrong. Customer service is top notch, the cashiers are friendly and the portions are very filling.

First time going and it was great! Very good prices and the food is delicious! Their brown rice is amazing! It’s not dry like in other places. I don’t live too far from this place and I don’t know why I haven’t came here before. I’m definitely coming back to eat here more often. :)

Having dined at a smaller Japanese restaurant prior to my first time visit to SanSai, the comparison, in my opinion is like night and day. If you are on a budget, then it might be an okay choice. I do not know if it is for all the sushi dishes they sell, but for the rolls I ordered, they skimp on the sushi but back on the rice. The sushi pieces are really thin in comparison to a quality sushi restaurant.

Convenient but come here for the quantity, not quality of the food. Would not order raw fish here. Staff were here to punch a clock. They didn’t care about the food or their customers. I was here last year and ordered a grilled salmon that came with a choice of sauce. Salmon miso/B $ 7.99 soda $ 1.85 Tax $.89 Total $ 10.73 My first inkling that something was wrong, the cashier had no idea what I was ordering. I had to point out the promotional flyer that was located right in front of the register. The second clue that something was wrong, my food took forever to come out. I had to urge the rest of my party to start eating and not wait for me. I thought my food would come out soon but everybody was halfway through their meal before my food came out. The last straw came when I took my first bite. My fish was not only overcooked, it was basted with the wrong sauce. When I went up to complain, they didn’t offer a remedy at all. All I got was a blank stare. No apology. I didn’t expect a refund but they could have cooked another piece of fish for me. I finally asked for a small cup of the correct sauce which they finally gave me with an attitude. Sorry, but if I want to eat grocery store quality sushi again, next I’d rather buy it at a grocery store.

I went here because I had extra time to kill before my dad’s flight and it was the healthier option in the area. I was quite surprised that the sushi rolls were so GOOD! I hate to admit that my expectations weren’t that high but I’m glad I was proved wrong! The place seemed clean and the food tasted fresh. Sushi chef made it all to order and the salads were pre-prepped. When I went it wasn’t crazy busy but not too few people where it made me leave before I ordered lol. There was a tv in there so it would be a good place to kill time before a flight, not have to eat airport food, and still close enough to walk to without having to worry about missing your plane. Good job! I will definitely bookmark for a return visit next time I’m in the area.
