Here is a fine example of what was once a great home town company that has simply forgot to grow and change. I can only guess that the owners of the company spend more time playing golf rather than really working on their business. B&B is sort of like the cool kid in high school that never did anything beyond that other than drink more beer…
It is frustrating to me because I grew up with B&B as the goto place for auto parts. I really like the home town feel of most places over the national chains but this place is just white trash. If you visit, you will get to see a terribly disorganized smelly store. You will be honored with terrible service capped with negative attitudes of the staff. Rarely will they have what you want but they have a «quick order service» and they will have whatever you need brought by truck in a day or two… Nice try but how about today?
I know this sounds like I am really whining but let me explain how I was greeted with a recent visit. I went in to grab some oil and a funnel for my generator as the power went out last week and it was an emergency. I got what I needed in a couple of minutes and then stood at the check out counter for a couple minutes while the staff stocked shelves. I would have understood if they were helping someone else but I was the only customer in the store. I had plenty of time to read some of the rude notes they posted for customers to read while they stood and waited for someone to come and help with the check out.
At this point, I want to say that I agree that customers should not use their cell phone in retail settings. At the same time there are circumstances when this may happen — it is none-​the-​less rude so I try to avoid it.
For this visit, my cell phone was safely in my pocket.
One of the signes cheezily taped to the customer side of the cash register read, «When you are done talking on your cell phone, I will be ready to help you.» Give me a break? Is there a more rude way of talking to your customers? Need I say more about this company? They need serious help. Hopefully they are willing to get it.
