Wrong subway. I wanted to review the subway on 1st Ave. S. Burien worst subway ever

I live just a few blocks from this Subway but had not been there yet, until a few days ago. A Subway is a Subway. My experience here and interactions with the staff were better than what I’ve experienced at other Subways in the area. I’ll be back. As far as the food, I got the same thing I always do. 6 inch honey oat bread with turkey & American cheese. Spinach, cucumbers, tomato, black olives, and banana peppers. It was yummy!

Subways traditional menu doesn’t offer much variation and the ingredients seem to be fairly consistent at every Subway I’ve been to. What varies the most seem to be staff and cleanliness, so that’s what I’m reviewing. The staff was courteous, they were prompt, there was no misunderstandings and when I asked for a light or extra amount of something they gave me exactly what I wanted. They even gave me more than a single napkin in my bag without asking. The store was tidy and neat no issues here. I only rated it 4 stars because there wasn’t anything exceptional about it. It’s a Subway, and you can’t get a cheaper corporate sandwich anywhere so I am reserving my 5 stars for stuff that was amazing or I really love.

I had such high hopes for a newer Subway near us as the one on 1st Ave/154th is the WORST. Until the last month or so things were okay, but they have steadily gone down hill. The one man that was so good(knew my daughter’s order, lol) left and now it’s a mess. Today she went in, clearly(even had it repeated back upon order) that she was getting the combo and cookies ordered as «EXTRA». Combo PLUS cookies. Fully aware that’s an extra charge. The person taking the order assumed somehow(!?) that she wanted the cookies instead of the chips, so when my daughter went up to her and asked where the cookies were(not charged) the woman looked dumbfounded. She said«that’s extra» and instead of getting the desired cookies, went on about her business. Later on coming up to my daughter giving a bunch of excuses, but no apologies, I/we get that misunderstandings happen, but please, teach your employees to APOLOGIZE for their mistakes? And I’m sorry but I feel language barriers are a lot of the reason as well. One should be able to speak and understand English without any issues before working directly with a customer.

I have tried this subway a number of times, with the hope that it would improve. Every subway I have gotten the bread has been so stale that when you bite into it, it just falls apart. I would have to be really desperate before I would give them another try.
