I came here for the first time to get my eyes checked since I switched insurance from Kaiser. A Friend of mine recommended this office so I thought id give them a try. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the registration process was quick. I met with Dr. Fong first to do my vision exam, and then I met with Dr. Kirschner so he could check the health of my eyes. Both doctors were very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back for my yearly exam!

I came here to get an eye exam with hope of pair of progressive glasses. Dr Phong did decent job with exam, but then my nightmare started.
I went to see their dispensary technician. My first frame she suggested was a disaster. Not only wouldn’t hold on my face the measurement was off. Eye focus was not measured correctly and my eyes basically were looking through blurry off center lenses.
I came back to get a different frame and when I complained about miss measured prescription this lady Natasha was getting very offensive and argued that her measurement is correct and this is just a placebo effect and it will get better with time.
I went back to doctor and complained. Doctor said it is probably off center but prescription she gave mi is good and there is nothing she can do about it.
I went back to Natasha who has measured the glasses again, by the way in this day and digital age using sharpie pen and small wooden ruler in centimeters.
She got it wrong again. I came back and complained and she was very offensive again. I made her shift the right eye prescription to the right and finally glasses she gave me were almost perfect although not quite but acceptable. I asked here to get me an identical second pair. When second one came in it was completely wrong, I couldn’t wear it. I came back and complained.
She told me that I have to surrender my first pair so she can send it in for them to make 2 identical pairs.
They re-​did the both pair even one that was quite good and when it came back both of them are different and badly off center. My vision is slightly blurry thorough either one of these. Basically I need to pan my head to the right about 15 degrees to see objects somewhat clearer.
This cost me over $ 2000 so far. YES, TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS. It took 5 month to get to this point of super frustration. Natasha is nothing but unqualified super Id*ot that has no clue what she’s doing.
BE AWARE. DO NOT GO THERE. THESE PEOPLE MOST LIKELY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY AND NOT YOUR VISION.

I have been living with blurred vision for couple of months now. Every morning I get in the car, I get upset, because I can’t see properly. Specially looking in the rear view mirror, I have to twist my head to the right extra few degrees just to see objects sharper, although my left eye focal point is completely off.
I have called the office and told them about my ordeal. Make a long story short, dr. Kirchner said that some people can not wear progressive lenses, Natasha is the only one they have, it is too bad and there is nothing he can do (or will do). I will report this crook although that is not going to do much.

I came here to see Dr Fong. I got my eyes dilated, it was my first time and they forgot to give me temp sunglasses O. O! Good thing I live 2 blocks away, or I probably am already dead. Also, I’m not sure whether it’s because there aren’t a lot of CRT cases that she have seen, but after 4 – 5 follow up visits and paying the $ 100 for the contact lenses fitting on top of the regular $ 60 eye exam fee, I still cannot see very clearly. At the last fitting, it looks like she gave up trying to help me see ²⁰⁄₂₀ when I still failed to read past the 3^rd line.
I got a years’ supply of contacts in the end and later saw that I actually can get it for $ 150 cheaper online with a prescription; there is usually a markup if you get contacts at the OD, but I just didn’t realize it will be more than 50%.
Conclusion: I won’t be going back again.

How about professionalism and knowledge? Yes, I was misdiagnosed with macular degeneration, Dr Kirschner corrected that diagnosis, whatever the optometrist saw has been there a long time. Eat kale and spinach daily. His optometrist saw my daughter, and she also was misdiagnosed with the need for driving glasses, it turns out she has ²⁰⁄₂₀ with dry eyes from computer. Please see an opthomologist when it comes to your eyes, Dr Kirschner has an MD!!!

Although he seems to be a fine clinician he has a terrible bedside manner! I had a severe eye infect and he seemed more concerned with the fact that I mentioned I inquired with his front office staff about my Rx after my ER visit-​How dare I expect them to be intelligent enough to admit they didn’t know the answer and that they didn’t have the sense to go ask someone who might know?!? He was down right obnoxious and insulting. I left feeling victimized-​he totally took me off guard. i don’t know what this creepy little man’s problem was… but be prepared to take the defensive. Unfortunately, I was not and left regretting not taking a stand for myself.

I have seen Dr. Kirschner now for about 2 years. For 20 years, I have managed large groups of multi-​specialty internists & surgeons so I think I’m a pretty good judge of physicians, including ophthalmologists. I adore Dr. Kirschner. He is not only a great clinician, but he has a great bedside manner. He is gentle, kind, calm and re-​assuring. He takes his time, explains things and makes you feel totally at ease. His office also has a great optician and a very nice selection of frames. Dr. Kirschner’s front office staff is also top notch-​excellent customer service, kind and thoughtful.

This review is for Dr. Shirley Fong, the optometrist in Dr. Kirschner’s office. I’ve been seeing Dr. Fong for about 20 years now and don’t see myself leaving any time soon. She’s very thorough and consistent. If you have any questions or concerns, she will talk it through with you and make a recommendation based upon her diagnosis.
The last time I was there, I was having some trouble with blurry vision when sitting at my desk. She asked me a number of questions and ultimately it came down to dry eye. She gave me a number of eye drops (in case I didn’t like a certain one) and sent me on my way. I haven’t had any issues with my eyes since.
I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Kirschner, mostly because he’s an opthamologist and thankfully I don’t have a need for his services… yet.
All in all, I highly recommend Dr. Fong. And, they have an optical shop in their office, so you don’t have to go far to get a new pair of glasses.
