Their SF office operations manager listened to my scenario and was sympathetic to my concerns and unhappiness. I was told that they don’t know who originated the solicitation call, but that they never offer a 60% off coupon as the margin on frame work is not that large enough for such an offer. I am appreciative of their attempt to retain me as a satisfied client and can understand their position after having received the additional explanation. While they were not able to make an adjustment to the price, they have offered me a gift card to make up for some of the difference and disconnect. Thank you Frame-O-Rama!

Jason has been wonderful. I have been doing much of the framing work myself to save money, and I have never been treated like a 2nd-class citizen for only ordering museum glass. Super friendly, helpful, and patient. This is one of the rare times that I returned to a business after using a deal-type voucher. Thanks Jason!

Do yourself and the staff a huge favor by letting them know what your budget is upfront. I had two prints that I needed framed. The staff spent almost two hours helping me to dial in exactly what I wanted, and for that I was very appreciative. The prints were approximately 18“x24″. I had chosen two textured mats and a 1.5″ wide stained wooden frame — nothing elaborate. It looked great and I was ready to place my order. That changed when I heard what the cost would be — $ 900.00 — EACH!!! I actually could not believe what I was hearing. In fact, given the cost of the materials and the work required, $ 900.00 for both seemed high. Bottom line is that I liked working with their staff. They provide a lot of good input and challenge you to look at things you may not have previously thought about. Given their location, I would imagine that a good percentage of their customer base has this type of money to spend and wouldn’t think twice about doing so. Unfortunately, I have yet to reach this monetary pinnacle and will need to search for a realistic solution that is more in line with my budget.

JEKELANDHYDECUSTOMERSERVICE. I was in to take advantage of a deadline, was told politely by the salesperson she was alone but if I was willing to wait I was free to go through the samples during which to get ideas for my framing. I didn’t want a hugely detailed frame process just and odd shaped item. I received great service from the salesperson. The prices were high — higher than I’ve encounter a while back for framing from Fram o Rama. Anyway she was great at giving me a range of pricing and even offered an economical option. She printed up all the quotes. She was great. I thought about it over night. I walk in and wasn’t well recieved by the man at the desk. He couldn’t be bothered. The salegirl that came in after helped me but was short on manners as well. First without any questions asked told me I couldn’t have this project done for christmas. She didn’t ask if it was a gift. I looked past that and told her which quote I wanted, I gave her my quote, my coupons and told that could do all I want — flat out and rudely. I told her I didn’t get I came in yesterday and got great customer service, why couldn’t get what I wanted today. She said she go get the manager and as she walked past me made a nasty rude remark. RUDECOLDUNPROFESSIONALANDHIDEOUS. That was it. I took my project, quotes and time and left. Shame on fram-o-rama to treat people so badly in this economy or any other time. Custom framing is a luxury — not a necessity — I do not have a problem finding some place else who is interested in my business and willing to treat me respectfully. This rude unprofessional woman destored all the good from the previous day.

Let’s get this out of the way: quality framing is expensive. It was a little shocking. However, it was totally worth it. I brought Shoshanna two Hermes scarves that had been sitting in my closet for years, and she was very, very patient with me in picking out the frame style. She gently tried to nudge me in the direction of not making the frames exactly square since the scarves had stretched out a little over the years. She was absolutely meticulous in the pinning of the scarves which will allow me to take them out of the frames and wear them if I ever decide to do that. All in all, a great experience. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again.

I discovered Frame-O-Rama from a Living Social deal and was very pleased with my experience! I worked with Shoshanna who is very detail oriented, thorough and very nice! I ordered 2 copies of 2 different custom mattes. They were ready within the time frame that Shoshanna estimated(about a week and a half). She was very patient and asked questions that I never would have thought of because I was missing some information on whether the mattes I picked out would fit my particular frames. It worked out perfectly! Another great thing about this place is that I was able to call in a couple of weeks later and place another order of the same mattes without coming into the store. That saved me so much time as well as the stress of finding a parking spot during the busy hours of downtown Burlingame. Will be back always for custom matte orders and possibly framing orders in the future!

I had a great experience here. I recently bought some prints online and didn’t really want to just stick them in some cheap Walgreen’s frame, but on the other hand, I was a little apprehensive about getting a custom frame. The people here were really helpful and showed me all sorts of options. What I was most relieved about was that they weren’t pushy or just trying to make a sale. They really took the time to help me out. Now I’ve got some great art in my room!

If you are in the framing business, being detail-oriented — what I really mean is anal-retentive — should be a requirement. Unfortunately, it is not a requirement to work at Frame-o-rama. I had a poster reproduced onto a piece of canvas at another business(Graphic Reproduction, I love you to pieces) and took it to Frame-o-rama to stretch onto wooden stretcher bars. I told the guy at Frame-o-rama that the canvas had not been sprayed with a fixative and asked him if he thought it was necessary. He told me that some times the ink on the canvas is not color-fast. So, to test it, he decided to use his fingers to scratch at the bottom corner of the image on my canvas in order to see if it would scratch off!!! As he scraped his dirty finger on the the canvas that I had just picked up from Graphic Repro, I felt as though I was having a HEARTATTACK. What the hell was this guy doing?! I told him to stop and that I think it needed to be sprayed with a fixative. He agreed, then proceeded to take out a permanent marker from his drawer to COLORIN the spot on my canvas that he had tried to scratch off!!! I was speechless. Thankfully my canvas did not sustain too much damage, but again, all together now. What the hell? A week and a half later, I picked up my canvas. The image was ever so slightly off center. I understand that it is difficult to stretch a canvas that already has an image on it. But that’s why I pay a professional to do it. What a type A nightmare. Well, as always, what is the silver lining in any bad customer service situation? I get to Unilocal allll about it.
