After picking up my rental car at the SFO airport I thought of having my dinner somewhere nearby and found this one but it was very late already, I reached there 5 minutes before the closing time but management didn’t send me back. They are so friendly and very good people served me a very hot delicious food. I defiantly recommend this restaurant if any wants to try the best sushi foods.

I was craving for ramen and this place was close by. I ordered the beef ramen bowl, it was alright. I would not recommend this place if u are looking for a true ramen bowl. It was something easy and quick. No wait either.

Restaurants should be critiqued with only one thing in mind. The experience. Every time I have come here, whether dining or ordering take out, I have had a great experience. The food is well prepared and delicious, and the staff are welcoming and kind. It surprises me that this place doesn’t have more customers. The place is immaculate. Probably the cleanest restaurant in the area. Good specials, fair prices, good people, attentive and accommodating. I eat out a lot and this place has become one of my favorites. Great experience!

I have ordered sashimi special and they have great super white tuna and hamachi. Also, their beef teriyaki is cooked just right. Sashimi is really fresh and service is very good as well.

Sushi Sada is under new ownership for maybe three months now, and I am even more impressed with the quality of food and service than ever before! The new owner, Davy, used to live in Japan for three years, so he himself is particular and selective when it comes to the quality and freshness of food, ensuring that he only serves and offers the best available to customers. Pricing is reasonable and affordable for the quality of food provided, freshness is guaranteed. Some of my favorite dishes include the Sashimi Special, Chicken Teriyaki, California Roll, Hamachi Kama, gyoza(Japanese potstickers), Dragon Roll, and Davy’s «Specialty Roll» has quickly become my new favorite. The owner is always generous and offers us free appetizers and ice-cream/dessert whenever we visit, SCORE! On the service level side, the servers are always attentive, personable, and friendly. One added advantage is there is plenty of parking available inside the plaza, which reduces some headache of looking for parking already. As mentioned in my previous review, Sushi Sada is really a hidden neighborhood gem that shouldn’t be overlooked. I love eating and dining out; enjoying delicious and yummy food is always one of my biggest passions. I am glad to have found a place that is close to home and doesn’t break the bank. :) If you still haven’t given this place a try, I can tell you that you are missing out big time, don’t say I didn’t tell you. :P

I’m visiting from out of state and was really craving some sushi! I saw that this place had some pretty good reviews so I ordered the Lion King roll. Let me just say. I walked in and everyone was so friendly! I sat down and waiting and sparking conversation was not hard :) the lion king roll was so good! Definitely will be ordering again.

Authentic and generous sushi. I stopped by on my way to bart and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and family centered vibe. I wanted to order a few rolls and the waitress suggested I order the lunch special that would incorporate the fish I wanted in a few different forms, and most importantly would cost less. Don’t be in a rush here, breathe and take time out of your busy life to enjoy the broken English and fresh sushi.

I came here in the afternoon when I was craving sushi. It was the closest location that was open so I walked in not knowing what to expect. It looked like a small family owned restaurant. I ordered 3 dishes, shrimp tempura, crazy roll, and lion king. The waitress introduced the crazy roll to me and said it was one of their special rolls. It was very good and the presentation of this roll was definitely very crazy! After I was finished with my meal, I ordered a tempura ice cream. It was amazing! Overall, I think this place is a pretty good neighborhood restaurant when I am craving sushi.

It’s our go to for work lunch. Quick and easy. New ownership, but they’re a little slower. We only get sushi there, so not much has changed… I think. Not as many rolls to choose from and the pictures doesn’t tell you what they are. Many misspelled words in the menu. Can be a little overwhelming if it’s your first time there, but that’s because we’re so used to the old menu. Overall, it’s decent sushi and it’s quick-ish. Although, we went there for a birthday lunch yesterday and I had an inkling of an upset stomach a little after it(dragon roll with salmon sashimi). Not sure if it’s from there, but I didn’t have breakfast. Just putting it out there. 12/14/2015 So, I had gone back last week with my co-workers for some sushi. I couldn’t decide, so I ordered my usual dragon roll with salmon. The waitress dropped off my dish and asked if I was Lisa. I was a little creeped out b/c «how did she know my name?» With her accent, I couldn’t really understood what she was saying. Something about good salmon. Later she mentioned Unilocal.I remember I wrote a review, but couldn’t remember what I wrote. I had to look it up while I was there. So they thought I was complaining about their salmon, I think. I really wasn’t, but it just so happened I had a stomach afterwards. This was my first encounter where they came up to me so forward and awkwardly asking me about the salmon or telling me that the salmon is good. Made me feel a little uncomfortable, b/c they kept staring at me while I was eating. Instead of coming so straight forward, I would assume they would just message me or something. I don’t know how I feel about going back now. Just too awkward.

My friends and I decided to give this place another try after having a good but not great meal a while back. Came here on a Saturday night, it was fairly busy but we were seated immediately. Stepping into the place, We also noticed that there has been major renovations from before, which definitely upped the décor and has made it a nicer place to dine. When we commented about the new look, the waitress told the us that the restaurant has recently changed ownership and as a result, also has a new head sushi chef. Hearing that, we didn’t really know what to expect except that we liked the nicer look. Their menu has a good variety of selection, from Sashimi, raw and cooked rolls, Teriyaki to Ramen. After going through the menu, we had the Sada Salad to start, which had a unique presentation and was very delicious. The salad was enough for 3 people. We then decided to order two rolls for our main course. Started off with the Crazy Roll. They are very generous with the fish(Salmon, Tuna and Himachi) in this roll. Very standard deep fried roll which was very filling and tasty. Next up was the Sada Roll, a good mix of Salmon and Himachi topped off with a good mixture of seaweed salad that complimented the fish and rice. Though, the rolls were excellent, we decided to end our course and shared the Chicken Teriyaki dinner between the 3 of us. The meat was incredible tender and the Teriyaki was very balanced and not overly sweet compared to a lot of places that add too much sugar into their marinate. In terms of service, they were incredible attentive and fast, especially with the order. After ordering the food, it came out within a few minutes. The three of us got out the door for $ 20 each. Definitely great value given that we were happy and stuffed from the meal. I definitely plan on coming here more often. For the food and service, I give this place 5 stars and would definitely recommend this place.

Same name but different ownership and definitely different food. The prior ownership tried to do too much by offering korean and japanese fare but they didnt execute any of it well. The new ownership has trimmed down their menu to mainly focus on sushi with some udon offerings and as a result the quality has gone up. Bigger cuts of fresh fish and even the other items like the udon had a more flavorful broth. The prices are pretty much same as before which is good because the other sushi places nearby like ichi zen and zen bistro charge an arm and a leg. I sat at the sushi bar with my daughter and had a great experience foodwise and servicewise. Food came out in a quick manner and waitstaff was very attentive. No it’s not gintei or amami nearby but you will still get a very good meal and you won’t need to deal with reservations or absurd lines or exorbitant prices. Defintely recommend and hope they develop a loyal following. As for reviewers complaining about authenticity because the owners aren’t Japanese, you do realize even the top sushi places nearby(amami, zen) are Chinese owned and run right?

This establishment recently changed owners – I believe the new one is Chinese, not Japanese and the food is not as «authentic» as real Japanese sushi restaurants. I was disappointed, I must say, by the new menu and choices — no salads, or healthy choices; the scooped out rice on plates(not in a bowl, separately). The Udon soup has little personality. I’d like to keep trying, hoping that there will be an improvement. Lawerence, yes, is great and I’m happy he is still working there.

Walked in for sushi, by myself, after a workout. I was seated very quickly by one of the servers. My server was not friendly at all. He didn’t ask what I wanted to drink and seemed annoyed when I asked for water when he returned to check on me. When I was ready to place my order he started walking away before I was finished asking for my order and didn’t even write it down at all. He repeated my order nearly half way across the room, so I had to confirm loud enough for everyone to hear. I had never experienced this before. The restaurant was not very busy, there were only three other tables and one was a single diner like myself. I noticed my server was actually very polite & pleasant to the other customers. I’m not sure if the reason he was rude to me had to do with the fact that I was the only non Caucasian, or because I was in gym attire and maybe he assumed I didn’t have much money? Either way, all of the other customers were being well taken care of. The sushi itself was decent, not spectacular but not bad either. I am only giving a bad review because of the service I was given. I will never return to this establishment.

Food was good. But they need to enhance the service. They have a big portions of nigiri. They have rolls, nigiris, rumen, udon, rice bowls… Lots of choice. Salad comes with lunch special. Everything was fresh. Recommend this place!

The 5th star is for Lawrence, the best server there and one of the reasons we keep going back. We were drawn in by the sign for $ 1.50 Sapporo draws, and have since made it our regular Thursday night spot. Our first visit was great as we had Lawrence as our server who gave us amazing service and was very kind and conversational. On our second visit, he had already remembered our name, brought us edamame upon arrival, and made us feel like special guests. We have come to know him pretty well since then and always look forward to visiting! This kind of personal service makes all the difference in the world. The restaurant is nothing fancy — pretty small, and not in the best location — but it’s a great option for lunch or a casual weeknight dinner. Their sushi is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Also love the fact that you can catch the sporting events on their TVs. Its a nice place to just hang out with a couple beers, a delicious dinner, and get to know the staff.

This used to be my favorite spot. A few months ago I was eating the small salad that comes befoer your lunch plate and noticed little fly in my salad. I called the guy over and he said, «oh sorry». So my friends convinced me it was a fruit fly and it could happen anywhere. I went back a few months after that and then eating my veggi tempura I see a huge hair sticking out of my batter! Now Im done. I call the guy over and say look, he said, «oh sorry» again! He told me he will remove my tempura off my bill, I said, NO! I wont pay for this plate at all! This is my 2nd plate with something in my food! He said OK. I will never go back. Totally grossed out

I worry about the cleanliness here. I kept finding these little flies in the wasabi. I wasn’t sure where they were coming from but i would pour the soy sauce in and stir it and then I’d see a little fruit fly in the wasabi. I think I found about three total. We told them about it and they said, okay… sorry about that. Sorry I even tried this place. Wasn’t going to write a review but I decided I should warn other Unilocalers after my coworker told me she got a stomachache after eating here.

Well, we wanted to try Amami. After good reviews from both Cherylynn AND Ken K. both giving thumbs up to a budget sushi place, I was sure we were in for a treat. But wait, they’re not open on Mondays :-(. So… thought we’d give this place a try. I’m usually more a sashimi and very traditional sushi gal, but went with my son and promised to get things he could share. He goes more for the elaborate Americanized stuff. So we got a couple of apps, and 5 rolls. Turned out to be lots of food. The server asked if we wanted miso, and we said sure. No charge… that was a nice surprise. Here’s what we got. Gyoza: filling was average, but the skins were lovely thin and silky Tempura: I ordered the veg, but got the shrimp. I rarely send things back, but with this being our only source of greenery, I did object on this occasion. What came back was two each — carrot, broccoli, zucchini, and orange squash. Pretty good, but why don’t they ever give mushrooms? Lion King: Liked it, but the salmon was pretty scarce Volcano: tasty, but very messy with too much mayo and scattered panko Sada: This may have been my fav, except this and the Lion King had awkward large chunks of avocado in the end pieces that made them impossible to pick up whole. I love avocado, and these pieces looked pretty, but made it hard to eat and kind of overshadowed the fish. Spider: a good rendition, except where’s the tobiko? Crazy: probably the best constructed of all and good clean taste Though I’m definitely not a sushi rice connoisseur, the rice could have used a bit more vinegar, which would also have allowed the rolls to stay together better. Except for the tempura order screw up, service was just fine. I noticed they didn’t correct the bill, but the difference was only one dollar, so I let it slide. It wouldn’t be a destination sushi place for me, but when I go to visit my MIL who now lives about 2 blocks away, I might just return. Food: 20⁄40 Service 16⁄20 Atm/Intangibles: 16⁄20 Value: 16⁄20 Overall: 68/100, but I’m rounding up, because overall, I felt like it was a C

So yesterday my son had a doctor’s appointment and was starving afterwards. He wanted sushi. I checked the time and it was 4:00, which for all you«foodies» know that Japanese restaurants usually are not open at 4:00pm because they only open for lunch around 11:30am-3:00pm, then close up and I don’t know what they do for the next two hours, and then they re-open for dinner around 5:30 until well, the end of dinner hours which can range from 9pm-11pm. Those are the«regular Japanese restaurant hours» as I call it… But my son still wanted sushi. Thanks to the handy dandy Unilocal app on his iPhone we were able to find a Japanese restaurant down the street that was open. YAY! It’s located in a little shopping plaza so it was a bit hard to find but I told my son I had a «feeling» that it is located here«somewhere». We walked into Sushi Sada and it was empty… as in, we were the only people there the entire time. I thought, oh great I made a mistake, it’s one of those places where the food is really bad and no one comes here, or the food is really expensive and no one comes here… however my experience was pretty positive and as we continued to eat our 4:00pm late lunch/early dinner/happy hour snack(or whatever you want to call it) I realized well maybe no one is eating here because it’s 4:00pm and everyone’s at work. The food arrived quickly. Chicken udon($ 9.50) and miso soup was hot but not too hot that you burn yourself. Uni was a nice size for a pretty reasonable price of $ 7.50. 2-item chicken teriyaki combo with california roll($ 10.50) was plated nicely. Everything seemed very clean. Service was great. I felt bad when he came to refill our tea and we had not even drank any yet. My chopstick fell on the floor and he immediately heard it and brought me another pair. Service is great when you don’t need to ask for anything(but of course we did) and when you ask, it is brought quickly. It could be because we were the absolute only customers in the restaurant at the time but who cares, again I will say. service was great. Prices were reasonable. Not insanely hole-in-the-wall-cheap but not expensive that it will break your bank. It was $ 35 but I can’t complain and I will say the experience was worth it. I didn’t try any of the fresh fish so I can’t comment on the other people who Unilocal and say«the sushi was sooo good» but thank you Sushi Sada for being open around the clock for my son and I. We will definitely be back.
