The food is good… the chicken sandwich, fries and burger are all delicious. The service could use some serious work. Very slow.

Decent food, nice selection of craft beer. Nice alternative to hunting for a place to eat if you’re tired after a day’s work.

It’s a very traditional hotel bar. Quite spacious, it does have a few separate seating areas besides at the bar, which is nice if you are going with a small group and want privacy. There are some flat screen TVs on the walls so good for watching some sports. I didn’t get a drink here so can’t comment. But people seemed happy. :-)

Food service is fucked up. The steak frites are a joke. Charred onion… They served me RAW onion straight up. Service is too slow and waitress with fake British accent is annoying. Only saving grace is the beer selection.

Tap and Tavern is a restaurant located in the Embassy Suites hotel in Burlingame. The food is amazing and the waterfront view, even better. The bar The bartenders are friendly and pay attention to detail. The drinks are reasonably priced and they have a good selection of craft beers. The food/restaurant Pricey but what can one expect from hotel dining? We’ve eaten here a couple of times and the food has always been amazing. Their side dishes can be improved(or for lack of better wording, upgraded). The pros Excellent location with an amazing view of the Bay. Not utterly loud. You can have a meeting or decent conversation without feeling the need to raise your voice. The cons Customer service can be greatly improved. The waitress we had during our most recent visit was slow(we were a party of 2 and a group of 4 — seated after us — received their food first), she didn’t offer any drinks(we had to ask for everything), she didn’t come by frequently enough for refills, and we had to flag her down for our check. No apology or explanation for the slow service. Even other wait staff and food servers visited our table more than our own waitress. Everything just seemed to be a drag. The restaurant was not packed and it was disappointing considering all of the other positive aspects of our visit. The bar, food, and view totally saves this place. I would’ve given them 4-stars; but will limit to 2-stars due to the poor(food) service during our recent visit.

As hotel restaurants go, this is actually pretty good. I like it because it’s in the lobby, so if you’ve had a soul-crushing day at the office, you can actually get something to eat without going back out again. The menu is slightly expanded from the hotel’s room service menu, so if you’re really lazy(or soul-crushed), you could just eat in your room. I ventured down this trip, and actually, I was glad I did — it’s probably good to be around other people, the service was decent and the view is pretty amazing. I had a cheeseburger which is corporate per diem priced, and actually a dollar more than from room service — although room service has a bunch of fees. It was properly prepared, and very good.(I did ask for mayonnaise, which was offered, but never arrived.) The fries were excellent. My Coke had free refills, which I didn’t really expect in a bar. I did order a Jamesons and Water to finish, and the waiter said, «So, neat?» which was a bit strange, but the drink was eventually prepared correctly. So, I would recommend this to anyone in the hotel. From previous trips, I know it is also helpful to have a restaurant within staggering distance, if you over-imbibe at the Manager’s Reception. As San Francisco is a foodie destination, it’s probably heresy to recommend a hotel restaurant, but in a pinch, it is a solid choice for dinner.

I’m 50⁄50 on this place but gave it one star lower for the terrible service. Ambiance is nice and cozy with a great variety on the menu however I’m not keen on the apps being the same size as the meals. We ordered soup that unfortunately wouldve been delicious if it didn’t come out luke warm. It’s cold and foggy here, all I wanted was a hot cup of soup! It did come quickly however which is always appreciated. The fish and chips was a decent entrée and I would’ve ordered a drink to go with it if the server would’ve actually come by at some point. I decided to close my check and finish up at the bar where the bartender was most understanding as well as pleasant.

The view was nice and the steal tacos were good. The steak was perfectly cooked. However, you only got 2 and I felt it was overpriced for such a little plate. I also the felt the menu was very small. The fries looked very good though I didn’t order any. They were giant waffle style fries. It also took 50 minutes to get our food as the waitress kept forgetting us.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites and ate at the Tap and Tavern. I ordered the steak tacos and they were some of the best steak tacos I’ve had. The steak was actual real steak cut up into cubes. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful although a little bit chewy. The bartender took my order and he was really nice and friendly. The tacos also had avocado, tomatoes, and onion. The tortilla was thin and piping hot. The only real gripe I have is that it was $ 16 for two tacos. However, they were really good and I’m staying in a hotel so I kind of expect that level of price hikes. Definitely a viable option when staying in the area south of SFO.
